If no more FC means low level BHs will be "revived" I may consider playing this game seriously again, as I care more for some of my alts than this old main of mine.0

The vast majority of votes ruled in favor of FCC, which a lot of us enjoy. I don't understand why you idiots with this huge ego think you're so much better because you quest to level, when in reality you're sitting in your boxers playing PWI the same as the rest of us. We just enjoy the game differently.
When my veno hit 100 it had all its cultis done, level appropriate gear it earned along the way. and had almost every skill maxed out. How do you think my veno would compare to one who frosted to 100 in a week with a level 5 bow and low level skills and no culti?
Being 100+ means nothing without all it should have at that level and none of your ego trash talking is going to change that.I **** bigger than you...

I'm neither here nor there about either of these changes.
I am a little disappointed that I can't make an easy couple million selling rooms when I am low on funds though. (Wonder if that's the real motive behind some of the rage...)
As far as earning limits: I've noticed an enormous decline in bots (though some spots in morai are still as crowded as ever). The only change, if any, I would like to see is that it didn't apply to instances such as warsong, lunar and FSP. But at that point I guess it wouldn't matter that there were limits.
Off-topic - I wish the bot let me farm herbs for chargers!!Whoever said nothing is impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.0 -

Same reason they played the game just before FC was hyper enabled and it took time an effort into leveling. Ironically that was the time when my server at least was more or less the most active. It's been on a steady decline ever since.
As I already stated many times there are many ways to gain good exp along with normal questing.
By the way I do most of my leveling as a reborn doing these methods AFTER I make 3 mil grinding out all my earning time. If I can get from level 1 to 94 in a week at 3.5 exp from doing what I did without frosting a non reborn char can do the same in a month to a month in a half. Think about it. There is far more ways to level faster now than there was before frost became a power level instance. Use hypers on mobs in FBs.
Oh, I should stop participating in the forums because you aren't allowed to respond to me the way you want? Says a lot about you and the way you think you should be able to play the game.I **** bigger than you...

Jadsia - Lost City wrote: »I didn't even decide I wanted R9 until last week. Last year I was involved in another spirited discussion involving some QQer complaining that there was no way to make in game coin. During this thread i decided to prove my point by making a new character and set it up as a catshop. It started out with just the raps I made from NW tokens I got which was a pathetic 70ish. That was the seed product for my vending shop. In 5 weeks that catshop turned 70ish raps into 620+ million coin. If that wasn't good enough I traded all that coin for gold and blew it all on packs. I eventually made that catshop broke again and started all over. it took 6 weeks to make yet another 600+ million coin.
My point is I could have had r9rrr a long time ago if I wanted it. over those 6 years I estimated the mats and services I gave away for free was well over 3+ billion. This doesn't include the 800+ million for the 3 legendary pets I have. then the other 600 million for my current gear and refines.
I wasn't interested in r9rrr until last week because I am not a PvP player. I prefer PvE which 3rd cast NV +11 is more than enough for that.
It's not hard to farm r9. But I will say it wouldn't surprise me if the type of person who is happy to work for it that way is the type of person who would be more than happy to play the game without camping in frost to level.
I don't see how this contributes to the discussion, other than an attempt at showing off.
Firstly, 3 billion coins is what? R9rr and a few jades? That doesn't even include the cards. I can't seem to stress enough to you that the game today is not like the game 6 years ago. You used to be able to get TT80 and get away with it competitively. Nowadays, even R9rr is non-factor without the cards. You have to work just as hard as before, plus even more to catch up with people who are STILL progressing, all the while remaining completely non-competitive in anyway whatsoever.
Secondly, your experiment doesn't prove your own point. You claimed that "it's not hard to farm r9", but no where did you mention anything about farming in your experiment above.
Finally, your conclusion doesn't make sense. Merchanting and PvE are completely exclusive activities. Someone who is happy to merchant does not indicate that the same person is happy to level up to 100 three times.
I leveled to 90 before hypers and frost were even in the game. If I could do that anyone could. It took me a week to get from 1 to 100 without hypers after I rebirth the 1st time. It took me 4 days to get from 1 to 94 the second rebirth without frost.
I'm not playing the game to catch up with anyone. I'm advancing at my own pace. There were people who started playing htis game before I started. I was always behind them because I came in later. This notion that one starts a new character and stresses because they are behind other players who already spent the time and effort into leveling and gearing their toons far longer than I have is stupid. It's like getting an entry level job at McDonalds and stressing out because s/he isn't the vice president of the corporation making $1 mil + a year after working there for just a few weeks.
There are always going to be someone above you and someone below you in this game. All that gear and **** with the S cards, etc. is accumulative. It requires cash or achievement. one way is fast and the other is slow. Either way provides the means to the same end.
If you're not playing the game to catch up with anyone, that's your problem. But anyone who is going to give money to this company, help boost the PvP scene, and be an active factor in the player base WILL be playing the game to catch up with the veterans. If you think trying to catch up to people is stupid, then I think having such a nonchalant attitude is stupid. Looks like we're on the same boat.
Hopelessness? Such is the attitude of someone with a severe case of entitlement syndrome. The only cure is desire + dedication + effort.
And watch. Now that players are going to advance through the game by engaging in level appropriate game play they are going to be required to do it with level appropriate gear. TT may once again be the thing to do for 6x+ characters. Not those 9x frost babies still wearing lvl 20 NPC **** with a bow to shoot heads. R9 is meaningless unless one is 101 anyway.
Did you just make that up? Because you should realize that hopelessness is CAUSED by desire, and the fact that dedication and effort gets them no where. With 6 years of your dedication and effort you cover 1/4th of what is needed to be competitive today.
Also, the fact that you can't use R9 until 101 is a very good reason why Hyper FC SHOULD be allowed. Considering how hard it is to get the competitive gears already, whats the point of adding in more stuff to do?.
Then they really aren't playing the game if they spend a year and don't advance. Thinking frost is the only way to level is just plain ignorant and lazy. I have mentioned many times already that when frost was first hyper enabled it was the only way at the time to gain good exp. Can't remember if that was before or after BHs or even the genies but it was before the tideborn expansion. The tideborn expansion gave us quests at 5x with gave a lot of exp. Then hypers came and packs. Then morai, PV, primal world and all the other ways to get good exp.
I highly doubt if those who frost their way to 100 in a week have all their cultis and their skills that 100+ character should have at that level.
No one ever said frost is the only way to level. Yes, you have BH, you have morai, PV and Primal world. But you had all that ONTOP of Frost. You can't deny that none of the activity in game, except for PV, can compete with 1 frost run in a EXP:Time ratio.
It is highly unlikely that playing for a year will allow a new player to even come close to being competitive. That's not really advancing.
Finally, who actually cares if a level 100 doesn't have cultis and skills? You can have full primal skills with all maxed passives but you are worthless without R9rr and S Cards. I don't see why you added this in.
And this is the exact sentiment which ruined a really nice game. The sentiment that one feels the need to bypass 99% of the game's content to be a decent player. This is contradictory to the spirit of this game or any other MMO out there.
Disagreed completely. Any games and any MMOs are meant to be competitive. The only way you can be competitive in today's meta is to skip 99% of the game's content. If this was a new game where most players are low level, then it is a different meta and the game is worth playing. But it is not. This is a 6 year old game, and out dated content must be skipped so that new players can remain competitive.
People who think like this have very low expectations to begin with. That's why they feel hopeless when faced with the fact that they need to put forth some effort to advance in whatever. It's pathetic to say the least.
Except, making a player feel hopeless means the game failed in doing what it's supposed to do - provide a fun environment. Pathetic yes, on the game's part, not the player's.
You seem to think that everyone wants to play a 6 year old game and spend another few years playing outdated content. That is not the case. The player doesn't serve the game, the game serves the player. When players can no longer reach a competitive level in a reasonable time frame, it is no longer fun. The game has failed player, and new players will not join. Why do you think so many people quit when a game is deemed too P2W?Zsw -104 Sage Assassin

What a relief!! I just lv-ed another 2 toons to lv100 before FC couldn't be hyper-ed anymore.
Now I already have 12 Alts atm. Yes earning time (8 hours) effect my coins from botting but all my troop alts still can make a good pure coins with 33-36M per day. I hope you enjoy with this earning time implement. b:pleased
Even if pwi haven't put earning time UI but if you are an experienced botter you can speculate about earning time by yourself by using alarm-stopwatch program. But heyyyy they said they gonna put earning time UI which I don't like because people gonna bot easily.b:bye
Oh I forget about BH it's good money with random reward too. Especially BH TT/Snake/Delta is really easy for me to solo with my troop alts
I hope you all guys who still farming TT enjoy this earning time. ;-))0 -
I'm mostly neutral to this but seeing people argue over the FCC thing and progress and whatnot I'm just gonna mention this here:
When I was leveling my Psychic, I started wanting to try PvP with it. At level 90, once I got a nice TT90+5 set I PK'd against a friend who was a Seeker also level 90 with her own TT90+5 set.
The PK was a blast, our fights would usually last 5-10 minutes before one of us died. We did wear charms and such.
I think if more people would do that it would be fun and lower levels could actually engage in PvP without needing to reach endgame and get endgame gears. I mean yeah...they won't do much in TW or NW but if they really want to PvP/PK they can grab similar level/geared people and go somewhere and do it.
If I was a new player, I really wouldn't care about endgame since there's a whole game ahead of me to explore and experience. But yes there are also players that would want to get to endgame as soon as possible so they can join the big guys... but I guess us sitting here making theories won't really do much.
If this change is here to stay I'll just hope the lower level gameplay will be revived a little.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

Someone here things power leveling to 100 in FC will help a new player to get R9rrr faster.b:shutup Is he serious?
Like i said many times FC is not got to power lvl from 1 to 100. Almost all new players that power lvl from 1 to 100( fc babies) end up at lvl100 with no idea how to use its skills and a weak gear not able to compete in high lvl instances, getting one shot from mobs and screaming at cleric that he didnt heal him fast enough. How a power lvl player with weak gear will do FWS to get molds and badges for his R9rrr? No, actualy. how a power lvl player with weak gear will be able to do fws for molds and badges for T3? How a power lvl player with weak gear will do Lunar to farm EOD? I have been in so many BH Lunar with seekers and BM lvl 100+ TT90 gear( probably buyed or fast made by buying mats) with a base HP of 6k not able to do anything from their job.
Those seekers and BM and other classes too are that kinda ppl that fast lvl in FC but didnt took time to make gear good enough for lvl100 stuff.0 -
My own personal opinion, this change was good.
Finally the low-mid content is revived a little, you see BH squads being made and such. People finally work back together to do things instead of everybody and their alt soloing FC all day like antisocial hermits. (Then complaining game is dead/they've got no friends to talk to while online...)
I can understand why some people want to rush to endgame and get top tier stuff ASAP, but at the same time, I don't. Because you jump into this bandwagon as well;
By that point you see even more people complaining about doing the same dailies, being bored, having nothing to do, saying the game sucks all the time at any given opportunity, thus off-putting any new players that dare to peek into this game. Because "If the game is so boring and horrible and full of displeased people, what am I doing here?!"
The community will always have the largest impact in a game designed for a community, from what I've seen. If said community acts like that, well... We deserve what we are getting.
All my hugs to people that still try to make a difference and still have fun being around without being so negative all the time.

No one demands from you to go questing. You can autoculti. Earning time? Do you reach earning time in 5 minutes? 8 hours per day is more than enough to bot. Only issue is 80-95lvls, which are real pain with low exp for BHs, long BHs. But new players can use this time to learn their class and skills.
We had no Reflection realm before, no autoculti. Only hypered frost. Now we have something to replace it with. Maybe it will be slower, but not enough to make a real tragedy of that.RankNine - Momaganon wrote: »sorry, but i dont wanna spend 5 months lvling my alts. and fyi, i was the 4th person to reach lvl 100 on Harshlands. i know how hard and annoying and absolutely stupid it was to lvl the "hard way".it was a giant waste of time and i didnt learn my class by bashing mpbs or delivering item A from NPC B to NPC C.

I strongly doubt that really new players who have just downloaded the game and logged in for the first time start wondering at once if there is an instance here which allows them to lvl in a blink of an eye and skip most of low lvl content and quit game in frustration and disappointment learning that there isn't b:laugh
What makes gap between modern endgame and a newer bigger is not lvling, but morai (have to do dailies for several months), primal (though can catch up a bit if you have money to buy vitae pills from shop) and probably meridian system, but it doesn't make a char op even if maxed.
Lvling and making money on pwi for a pve player is extremely easy. JOJ quest provides low lvl with constant income, nv3 is ridiculously cheap and easy to get. I can hardly understand the reason of QQing if you are not hardcore pvp aiming person, but in this case lvling is the easiest and cheapest things of all you will have to encounter. Even without hypered frost.
Or maybe it's the fact they can't sell frost anymore as someone here has mentioned.
IMO, value of frost is exaggerated, since we have a lot of more days to lvl fast than before.
What bothers me much more is earning time. Since we don't know interface for it, it's hard to judge how it will be during the days of x2 and intensive grinding, but I wouldn't like to have another feature which should be considered in my playing plans. Caster nirvana used to freak me out like that: need to do it every day, else token expires. Head ache every day: should i do it now with the random squad but which is available or wait for more regular squad, though it's not guaranteed they would come online today and I can lose a talisman. Necessity to "glitch" it (taking quest and log off fast) to get 1 spare day for it in case I have no time for it the next day. Etc etc. Just hope it won't affect normal gameplay of someone who doesn't bot 24/7 much.

1 to 80-ish is relatively fast just via bh and questing. But then you hit the point where the updated quests run out and it's zzz... This is where FC came in handy. It gets better again at 95+ with the addition of Morai and it's quest chain as well as just being able to run 95+ PV alongside a 100+ char, but before that is just so annoying.
It's also annoying to put that much effort into leveling an alt. Especially of a class I've thoroughly played before.
Basically now at 97 non-rb, my alt cleric is getting:
3% from BH 1/2/3 altogether
~8% a night from Reflection ('cause botting on it is annoying)
~20% from two runs of 95+ PV
idk, I guess about another 4% from Morai+Crazy Stone?
So lets go with about 35% a day. That's...decent? Complete gg if you have no one to run pv with though which is probably most new players. So yeah, it'll be discouraging as **** and not productive for keeping any new players playing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Your idea of being competitive it to take on well established, well geared, and experienced players by bypassing 99% of the game by camping an instance to herp derp to their level in a week or 2 by skipping skills, cultis, and other level appropriate requirements? I see. Show me any other commercial MMO ran by for profit corporation who made their gaming model function with your idea of being competitive.
Even a 105 full r9rrr +12 S cards and all without skills, leveled skills and culti are going to get owned big time against those who have taken their time to earn them.
Hopelessness comes from one's own lack of confidence in him or her self to achieve a desired goal. It's a self-imposed impediment and if one is feeling hopeless about this game it's something they brought on on their own and no fault of the game. Besides the opposite of hopelessness is hope and hope has never achieved anything. Why? Because hope = dependence of something or someone else to achieve something rather than one's own desire and effort, etc.
If you think I was just showing off because I listed my accomplishments with in game finances you're delusional. The entire point of that was it can be done. I consider myself an average player. And if an average player like me can do that than I believe anyone can.
Frost is just 1 instance in a vast and dynamic game. You act like it is the game. You want us to believe one cannot be competitive without bypassing most of the game and camping frost. It's clear that you have no clue what this game is about if you think it's all about herp derping to 105 and killing other players. If that were the case then PWE could save a ton of money by eliminating 99% of the game and just keeping nothing but frost, NW,TW and any other PvP event. Keeping all those other low level instances, culti maps and the main map which has been vacant for years costs a lot to maintain and support with bandwidth and hardware not to mention developing them from concept.
Competitiveness should be part of the game at every level in a character's development. Not just end game.I **** bigger than you...

Zsw - Dreamweaver wrote: »I'm pretty sure Hypers didn't kill the game, considering my faction toped at almost 160 online during TW back then.
What did kill the game was R9. Why? Because it wasted existing players effort. It widened the gear gap. It made the game more p2w. But most importantly: It made it harder to stay competitive!
There is a clear correlation where the harder it is for a new player to reach a competitive level of gameplay, the smaller the player base became.
(Note: staying competitive vs being given everything are different concepts. A lv 100 can stay competitive to a 105. A TT99 is NOT competitive to R9rr.)
Why were people fine with TT gears back then? Because even the csers had only TT gears, and people could actually stay competitive by farming and wearing TT gears. Now? Do you honestly think TT gears are worth a damn? I saw full r9rr +12 players get freaking 1 shotted. What do you think TT gears will accomplish?
I completely agree with this. First few years of the game there were so many gear variations, sharding combinations and variety of builds that it would always be exciting to peek another player to see exactly what they had done. I myself was mixed heavy armor/arcane and it was always fun to delve into AH to find some other elusive piece of equipment that would complement me.
Now sadly everyone lines up in pretty much exact same build/equipment or are in the process of working towards it.--Retired--

LOL. One will actually have to play the game is what they will do. Find any FB instance to hyper in all day, every day.Desdi - Sanctuary wrote: »I'm mostly neutral to this but seeing people argue over the FCC thing and progress and whatnot I'm just gonna mention this here:
If this change is here to stay I'll just hope the lower level gameplay will be revived a little.
Best way to practice PvP is against others their own level as they progress.I **** bigger than you...

Maybe it will be slower, but not enough to make a real tragedy of that.
I don't think you are affected so much by this change as a nearly endgame player (if I'm right on this) who can solo almost everything and can afford to spend some coins for faster lvling if another army of 100+ alts are that important and urgent for you b:chuckle
Agree here, sometimes I miss that feeling of newness when I was low lvl and had no clue about endgame prices and the whole business behind it b:shocked b:laugh
Thank you. Sparky said that the UI for the earning time is being developed and should be available in the next patch or 2.I **** bigger than you...

PWCN has since introduced changes that make that no longer the case, but FC still wasn't changed back. Instead we just had our own custom version, and the error was that lately China has been accidentally sending us the FC that everyone else has instead of ours.
Considering that low game activity increased the last time it broke and that's also the case this time, they've decided to keep the change even though it was sent to us in error.
PWCN made changes, what other changes has PWI done? It looks like we're some horrid misfigured twinbrother of PWCN sometimes where the devs go "sure that'll work" but nowhere does there ring a bell saying "wups, we did X, but forgot to do Y to counter like we were supposed to".
If they truly want low-level content to be active again, make FC hypers only 85+. When I first started playing here I didn't touch FC up untill 87-88, eventhough people said it was a good way to earn exp. But after 87-88, there just weren't enough quests to keep me going for lv90: quests didn't even give 1% anymore, just BH/cycle stone were something that made you able to progress, and that's talking about <10% p/day. If people were to level purely from questing (1st timers in TT70/TT80 armors in PV? gl) it would take them a week merely to go from 87 to 90Zsw - Dreamweaver wrote: »Lets put it this way.
My point is, Leveling is just a very small factor now. No one cares anymore whether you're level 100, or 100/100, or 100/100/100, "instant gratification" or not. It's all about the R9rr +12 josd and the S cards. And no matter how many Hypers you take away, you won't change that.
Progression is like walking down a long tunnel. People used to be able to see the light at the end from the first day they started playing. But with every expansion the tunnel gets longer, until the light is so far away that it is practically no longer there. Some people are persistent, and keep walking. But many more just give up right there and then.
Removing Hyper FC only makes the tunnel that much longer.
Just quoting this for the truth.
Everyone keeps saying how removing FC will help people learn their class etc and more "low-level activity in content", but removing one instance, the very first instance for most where it requires teamwork to make a succesful run, will not teach them anything. They might even know less from their classes: when was last time you learn anything from flying from NPC to NPC, auto-cultivating on a few mobs and done?
FC isn't meant for <lv70's, I admit that and never want those to powerlevel through to 100 in one go, but that does not mean you should punish those at 85+ who actually struggle with leveling on our current ingame content (90+ even worse untill Morai).
All in all this "nerf" is too little too late, it only harms new players meaning we started to become a dying game eventhough I hate to admit that. Losing more players than we're gaining.0 -
Honestly, I'm glad it's gone. I won't miss people skipping content just to compete with one and other, then complain they have nothing to do. And I won't miss FC babies getting everyone killed in squad because they don't know how to play their class.
There is plenty to do in this game at all levels, but many players would never know, because they rush to 100 in a week. One lost hypering instance will not affect the game, infact it might improve it, since maybe we'll lose some of QQbabies.
People will just have use zen squads, do quests, and/or find new instances. And as for new people, I agree with what a couple of people here have said, new players won't know any different, know it;s gone is only an issue for alt of current players, and to use that as an argument, is stupid.
I can get to level 70 easy in just 2-3 weeks without any FC at all, I never even attempted FC on any of my characters till level 75, there wasn't any need for it. The only downside will be the level 80-95 range, but everything else is easy enough with a little dedication. I'm rather quite fed up of people thinking everything in game should just be handed to them, like spoiled little brats. Most of them will just find a way to use mommy or daddy's credit card anyway. Try actually having to work for something, I never thought anything was more stupid then to see people bragging in WC about their level/gear, when all most of them did was type in a credit card number. Woo hoo, way to go you, you spent 1500 dollars on something totally intangible that you could lose at any point! You rock!
And I can't even tell you how randoms squads I've been in have had some FC baby kill the whole squad because they didn't know how to play their class. It's stupid to get asked by a level 100 how to use a skill they should have had since level 50-60, or worse, they don't have hardly any of their skills at all!
Me on the other hand, I take my time, enjoy the game, and have fun with my friends/faction mates. 90% of my most fond memories playing, are things I've done questing, or with friends faction members. I rarely remember the stuff I've done just to PK/compete. I know a ton of other players in game who feel as I do as well, but most of them never post, so you would never know it in the forums. My guess is only a hand full of players will actually miss FC.
I personally will never understand the mentality that competing is the only important thing in the game. Anyone who thinks that is the only thing in game that matters, needs a self esteem check. I'm guessing most of the people complaining are those with alts and those who used FC to make coin.
As for cash shop support, I think you would be surprised how many players buy things like fash and other such stuff, cash shopping gear and leveling, is not the only income of PWI.
Me, I'll do what I've been doing, enjoying the game doing quests/instances, and doing stuff with friends/faction mates.
My only real complaint is I want the fashion back! b:angry
Edit: In response to the post above mine, I learned most of my core fighting and survival skills while questing and doing BH. I get told repeatedly by new and old players that I'm a good Cleric, even though I don't always agree, as their are a couple I can think of who I admire that I think are better, but to be told that so often, I must have did something right. I'm not saying it's impossible to learn your class in FC, but it sure seems to breed incompetence most of the time. Most of the people who FCed up that I know, had another character or two at some point before that, that didn't.Tideswell

You played for 6 years, and you STILL cannot compete with r9rr +12. How can you expect someone who JUST started to reach a competitive level before this game shuts down for good?
First they must catch up to you. Considering it took you 6 years and you HAD Hypers, how long do you think it will take them? Then after that, they must catch up to the rest of the r9rr +12. But mind you, the rest of the r9rr +12s aren't just sitting there waiting to be caught up. They're also moving forward through the leveling of their S cards, making the gap even wider.
It's no longer about playing the game. It's no longer about making an effort. It's about hopelessness. Back then, there was hope for new players to reach end game. Every time they farmed and got something, they actually felt like they were progressing towards their end game goal. But as R9 got introduced, as R9rr got introduced, and as New Horizons got introduced, that feeling diminished. You used to be able to visibly countdown the number of mat pieces you needed. Nowadays you farm the mats, sell it in the auction, and maybe get back 2mil out of 1.5 billion. I remember when getting TT90 Green was big news. Today, people can care less if you just got r9.
The whole purpose of taking the time and effort to accumulate things is to actually end up somewhere. But what happens when people realize that after playing for a whole year, they still won't end up anywhere? It just isn't the same. Being able to FC to 100 quickly at least helped new players gain some hope.

I agree with this. And might I add....
PW should have either thrown out FC hypers or instated earning time, but not both. I would rather earning time instated over hypers thrown out. The 2 together, is too much.0
