But I will say no more.

Of course we can set up servers w/out the help of China, assuming we plan on using them more than once. However that is not the case. Servers cost money to start and maintain, and since this is a relatively small event (judging by sign-ups), then I'm sure you can understand that PW isn't going to allow DoD and I to setup 1 server for 1 day, for what seems to be little turn out. Not to mention we would need the engineers to stop whatever they're doing, to set one up. It's not cost effective, nor is it time effective.

For now we just have to use what we have, and hope everyone has fun. If this event turns out to be great, then we can push it by our higher-ups and see what they think about a dedicated tournament server. (Signup people!)

Edit: Also, let's keep this thread on track for sign-ups as that's what it's for. No need to fill it with other posts, we have the rest of general for that.

I can't believe the lack of sign ups, hopefully this tourny isn't a way to help decide which servers get shut down first : p

Well it keeps alot of people from joining due to the rules on Arch. Most players who would and could participate in this event are in the same factions. Example, Defiance and Nem.

*BTW sparkie, what are the rules regarding skill usage. For Example: If you have a mystic in squad that Mass Rez buffs the team, do you get back up after by using your skill? And if this is not allowed, will sins be able to use deaden?

Unfortunately, I'm afraid this is more of the issue than anything else. I'm expecting one more squad to show up, but not much more than that.

Hmmm fair enough, I play on Heavens Tear. Theres a few more people their but most people that would be interested are all in the same four or five factions... Guess that rule is kind of flawed

even if a team doesnt win, they'll still get a prize (one more hyper to the 234823 in your bank!) and free experience! and the teams that signed up (RT) have all more or less a shot at winning. and imo the pool of op people is still big enough to form at least 2 or 3 more squads that would have fighting chance to win. but even squads that cannot compete with gear - or more importantly with cards - should join the fun! this might be indeed a factor if the powerplayers on a server gravitate towards only one or two factions. due to recent circumstances the pro players on RT are nicely spread among several factions, so current rt teams are all mixed-faction teams.

to give another factor for the low signup... people don't read forums a lot. ._.

Thnig is, me and my friends would've loved to participate, but without equal gears we simply would not stand a chance. =/

I suspect that contributes to reason the sign up is so low. A lot of people simply cannot participate because the gear difference is just too much.

Generally, once you're dead (dead as in seeing the res screen), you're out. No ressing. Cornered Beast/Deaden Nerves/Pious Blessing all allowed.

Yeah. That's part of the thing with the endgame tier we're starting off in. I just hope the lower tiers get higher submissions.

Sup pimping last i saw you, i think you were basically full 3rd cast just missing refines an gems i think it was... I think if you had continued playing you would basically be end game..

He means he'd like to participate on Archosaur or RT.

Though to be honest, if there was a seperate server there's not a whole lot stopping random sign ups.

Full r9rr +10 with perfect citrine, still get 1 shot by unsparked Earthen Rift.

I don't actually care whether I participated on RT or Archo. I would've actually preferred if they didn't limit by server, and just had a sign up for everyone from all servers.

Personally I feel that there are a number of reasons why the sign up is low, which does indeed include what you said.

It could also be because the servers are struggling to get people to participate.

Could be that people aren't all that interested in the event.

It could even be the lack of mention in game about it, forums/facebook/tweet are all nice ways to advertise it but I absolutely feel they are missing quite a few people who might have signed up if they would mention these events (the name at the very least EDIT: Something like: Pvp Tournament even COMING soon, check out the official forums and find out more information, and sign up today before you miss out!) in game. An 'advertisement' in game ensures EVERYONE sees it instead of relying on the playerbase... whats (arguably) little is left of it, and truly active.

There could be more reasons, but that last one, I feel is what is truly holding this... and all other 'events' back... if more people knew about it sooner/in a clear way I am fairly sure we would be seeing more sign ups than we are currently.

The sign up are low, is because this is the real fact of PvE servers .

Its because this is wht i been talking about to GMs in tickets , Lack of PvP cause OF THE PLAYERS . And I asked for server transfer .
Its because *** r9rr +12 josd to sit in SZ and PvE .

Its because U SEE NOW THE TRUTH GMs ... Now solve this shiit for us who need PvP everyday .
With this kind of PvE ppl we wont enjoy the game b:bye

Don't try to be smart *** and tell me Why u didn't choose PvP server from start, u realize over half the game started without knowing whts PvP/PvE .. or server time zone matter in events . Many now regret things and prefer another server due to better events time zone and PvP or PvE they prefer.

Also another point , U Realize everyone is under the morphine of "bot everyday waiting money " on 1 to 10-15 toons , causing inflation ( gold went from 2.2 to 3.4mil on RT from botting and FS ) and waiting the money to gear up more and more , THO many of them are r9rr +10-11 or even 12 and doing it and no time to PLAY ANYMORE BOT TO DEATH .

What's with the teams thing? Why not just wait for NW, lol. Personally, I would like to see a bracket style 1v1 tournament, for different tiers, of course. I thought I had read that was the original intent somewhere, but could be wrong.

1v1 would be even more of a gear roll. 5v5 at least means that even if one person has crazy gear the other team can stand a chance.

- Can you use buff pots (Spirit of Defense, Spirit of Assault, Blinking Poultice, Shining Pill) before the fight starts? Clearly, you can once it starts, but what about before?

- Can your squad receive buffs from backup/replacement squad members before the fight starts?

- Can other outside buffs be brought in to the fight start (e.g. faction base buffs)?

For the record, I am of the personal opinion that the answer to all of these should be "no".
