Because I've already posted walls of text via full quotes and the quotes themselves link to the post being quoted, so I just quoted you to have the links and avoid confusion but removed the content in my own post so it wouldn't take up extra space.
This is a pretty common thing on most forums.

So if your not in this thread to answer questions then why even post babbling about things you have no idea about?
And I wasn't jumping in on ya I was simply letting my frustration known, yet you telling me pwi will most likely never give back to the community because of a few rotten apples is not helping the situation.. Especially when your talking to paying players who invests money in the company that pays your paycheck.
I say this once more this is a slap in the face.
PWI doesnt pay mods anything. You've got nothing to do with my salary. MOds are simply players with extra responsibilities on the forums, who do so completely voluntarily. Who take on that with no gain for ourselves beyond being able to talk to a GM from time to time directly to let them know whats going on in the forums. We still gotta submit tickets if we have an issue in-game even, like everyone else. Kossy is posting because she as a player has her own opinion on the situation. Just like every other player.0 -

Is it too hard to conduct a toon-based reroll, instead of banning?
Just my one-cent. GL.
Sorry don't mean to focus on just one thing, but that which you ask, may very well be a bit easier than you think.
They do have some method of tracking people, they have given items back after a '****', they do monitor their game for things like this, so imho its not too farfetched they are watching the 'refine' levels, as well as who has gotten more than the 3 orbs that was suppose to come in the mail after redeeming that code, I am sure they can even track it through alts as well as through the account stash... I think it's a lot easier to track down who did what, and how often here, and remove the excess orbs.
I do agree that a perma ban would be the wrong move here, but it would also be wrong for them to do nothing... if they do NOT remove the excess orbs/refined levels from those who abused it... then yea there is no excuse for not doing that. (As I have said before they could very well be doing more than what just meets the eye).. EDIT: The simple truth of the matter is that NO ONE knows exactly what they are doing/plan on doing except for maybe them themselves. xD

Please don't misrepresent my words. At no point have I said PWI is guilt free.
My initial rant was directed at the people who abused PWI doing us a favor because they screwed EVERYONE over and made it unlikely for PWI to ever do something like this for us again... and it's completely legitimate.
Do you blame the banks when someone robs them? Nope. Do you steal items from stores just because the store doesn't have them bolted down? I'd certainly hope not.
I hold a very low regard for what tickets say during times like this. But that's already been stated in the post you read, so I'm not going to repeat the whole thing again.
Here I agree your point works for stores .... But when it comes to banks people wont invest
if they had open safe and no security will they ? So Blame goes to the programmers who coded this .... And it will make people loose interest and not to charge any more money .. b:laugh
So instead of banning people they should fire people who don't know to code ( its a bit harsh )
As we all know rollback was the only option which they wouldn't agree .
So why blame players ? rather just shut down server if they cant manage and take right decisions.
And refund all who paid for the orbs ..
Thanks0 -

I believe that a "rollback is the only option," is nothing more than an OPINION... just because a majority of the people share the same opinion, does NOT mean its the 'right'/only thing to do.
I do not share that belief... it isn't the only option, it just happens to be the one that NO ONE would question if pwi did something to the abusers, the way they handled we may still find out if they actually banned someone, but we may not know how/what actions they took, and we DEFINITELY wont be hearing any names being dropped.Ah, Mistakes are so easily made. ~ laura resnick

Oh lemme rephrase it "ROLLBACK WAS THE ONLY OPTION"
PWI will do what ? 3 day ban ? well even if a 3 week ban and they get away with say 100 + orb hell yeah then give 100 orbs and ban me for 3 weeks ... LOL it has become a routine for pwi to mess up and give bans for players ? As if it was players mistake ..
It was given free not like they **** their Database and abused the orbs ....

Also let me add this tidbit.
Since the (GAME) mods clearly have the ability to giveth, they can taketh away as well, that means orbs, refine levels, etc. (I am not saying it is a flawless procedure, let alone an easy one to do, but still I think it is possible for them to track who got what, and how often they 'used' it)
So yea... my opinion remains... a 'rollback' is NOT the only option.
EDIT: \/
It just so happens to be the option that a great majority of ppl on the forums want, and it also just happens to be the one that no one can say they didn't punish the abusers.
Also one more thing... they have been way too lenient about it being 'their' mistake, at some point us players need to take responisiblity for our actions and accept we did wrong, and just 'accept' the punishment dished out... but yea... I get why people doubt this is happening especially after the bs that happened with the goon glitch, still we do have a different cm... so the outcome could very well be different.Ah, Mistakes are so easily made. ~ laura resnick

This is kinda easy to think how to fix...its simple...every1 who abuse this code on forum what given...simple teake away from him those extra orbs what they got...and those who didnt get anything simple send them to e-mail new codes...nothing to investigate 3-10 days and nothing to bother so much
Its easy just like that...0 -

Yea Rollback isn't the best option but you think the engineers will check 1 by 1 and remove orbs and reduce refines ? consider an average of 100k players per server ....
So I don't think practically checking 1 by 1 is possible .0 -

Given how long the abuse/glitch was up and going, I really don't think it is that widespread. (The ridiculous amount of spam made it seem a lot worse than it actually was at least imho that's the case. :$)
Though yea if it was like the goon glitch, and it went on for months, or if the number of people who abused it is really that overwhelming, then yea I can see them not checking them all, but from what we have heard/seen, and my own personal opinion I do not think the number isn't an unmanageable one for them to deal with.Ah, Mistakes are so easily made. ~ laura resnick

You are in no way under any circumstances entitled to a refund.
So don't tell me people screwed this up for everyone by making pwi not thinking about us and not doing this again. And I really hope your response to me is nothing other than YES everyone who had got more than three orbs will be punished.
Kossy is a mod. Kossy does not know any more than we do. So don't be rude.
I'm entitled to this code so after investigation and EVERYONE who got more than three orbs is punished pwi better reactivate it. Or all bells gonna break lose.
You're entitled to nothing, legally. This was a gift. not the handing down of a crown. They'll deal with those of you who didn't get the code after they deal with the abusers. Calm down.

Rollback was actually the best option. It wasn't too far in the week when it happened and it would have put everyone at ease. Plus some people got more than 3 orbs on their first entry of the code. They wouldn't have to punish anyone, they could have just fixed the code or found another method in giving us the reward. No one really has to be punished especially since they can't tell whether people intentionally tried to abuse the system or if they genuinely didn't know it was one per account and were just following the message of using the code again 10 min later. I'm sure most people would be happy if they just edit away the extra +10 refines and get rid of the excess orbs people still have.0 -
So for those who didn't even get the code once is there some sort of compensation for them? Going through 400+ pages of text is kind of ridiculous, and I did not see anything on the first post about it even though it'd been updated a number of times.0

More like the GMs never listen because their bosses won't let them and their bosses need to be pushed off a cliff.
A lot of people don't get that the GMs don't actually implement suggestions or anything like that without taking it to their bosses first. The executive board and product managers make the final decision. The GM's are essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place. They probably want to do all the things people suggest, but it's their bosses that are the ones they need to convince before they can do it.
If their bosses say no one gets the code, then there's nothing we or the GM's can do. The exec board and product managers have spoken.0 -

15.5% chance to +10->+11 with Tishas, and 8.5% chance to +11->+12.
So, you can reasonably expect to +11 one piece of gear for every 5-6 (6.4-1, since your success doesn't cost an ocean orb) oceans you have.
+12 is slightly more difficult to figure out due to only dropping 1 level when failing. +11->+12 works on average every 1 in 11.67 tries, and when it fails brings you back to +10, where you'll have to use an average of 5.4 oceans to get it back.
As such, you can expect to go +11->+12 on one piece of gear for every 62-63 (62.5) ocean orbs you have.
Don't expect even the biggest exploiters of this to be running around having gone from +10 or even +11 to +12.Current: http://mypers.pw/1.8/#133167

"435 pages of nothing but rage and QQing." That must mean so many didn't got anything at all from this failed compensation. I didn't neither but for some reason I don't feel so disappointed. We didn't have a rollback in Dreamweaver thus I didn't lost anything.
All what I learned from this, is that when they give a code just redeem it immediately. Unless the page has crashed...They never listen to the players, except in rare occasions.

IMO PWE should get to world record for this. So much failing with PWI, in quality and quantity.
But punishing others for their own mistake, because the code didn't work as expected, that's a bit harsh."Is that a Pataka in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"0 -

So it would be useless to ask compensation for failed compensation, even though they say -"We've disabled the code while we investigate the situation of code abuse."? No guarantee for code to return?
That decision would be placed in the GM's bosses hands. They will ultimately decide whether the code will be reactivated, not the GMs unfortunately.

Just going to quote myself;Noxioua - Lost City wrote: »The code was released and programmed to only be redeemable once per account. Before the page broke, it was. Everyone was getting "This code has already been redeemed" and QQing because people later were getting more. The 10 minutes was after the page completely broke, and before it completely stopped coming up. There were that many codes being redeemed at once, so many people trying to get onto that page or constantly refreshing it, whether they knew what they were doing or not, that the system no longer recognised the code as once per account. Because there were accounts redeeming it 12 times. The system no longer recognised the code's full program.
Which is also how some people who redeemed it only got 1 orb, or 2 or no orbs but everything else. The system quit. it packed up it's cubicle and went to Macedonia. Somehow, I don't think it's coming back for a long time, if ever.
Those who thought they'd try to glitch it, succeeded. In short, cause the page to break itself. Giving innocent people who were only redeeming once and letting the page load, whether to Thank you or gateway timeout, more than they should have got. While, at the same time, giving the abusers as many packs as it would while they were spamming refresh until the page finally stopped going for them.
People who were refreshing and KNEW what was happening, should have had the common sense to stop. Walk away from the page and just obtain the packs you did get. That is why they will be punished. Because they knew very well it was glitching but continued anyway. This it NOT like the goon glitch where almost nobody got perma banned, that involved a game map and coding. Which, we all know comes from Wanmei and whatever the company developing the game was at the time. PWE had to wait for Wanmei to send through the patch to fix it. Therefore, that bug PWE couldn't do much about. It was out of their control. This one, however, they can.
I'm actually really glad they only let it go on for what? 30 mins? An hour? They stepped in pretty quickly and disabled the code, and maybe even possibly the page. Who knows. This could've been much worse if they posted the code and left the office for the weekend.
Now all we can do is wait and see what DoD convinces the bosses to do. He'll try. He always tries. Unfortunately being shared with another game, he's not always here like V4l was.0 -
New Expansion.... as we can see on threads. Players are more interested in your mistakes to fix it, than in incomming expansion. PWI, work on small things first, then on bigger -.-0
