    I don't see the problem with ARC to be honest, i even like it like i do with steam, so nice to press shift+tab and have right there games, forum, support, etc, hope chat becomes available soon as all the other nice stuff this platform can bring to the community.

    By the way ARC is not just to download pwi.

    I have a suggestion....

    Why won't someone get a friend who has never played a PWE game before (or better, ANY MMO) and talk them into playing a PWE game with them without telling them about Arc and all of that stuff? Then, once they've gotten Arc installed and playing a PWE game (and have used both Arc and the PWE game for a few days, and then a PWE game without Arc for a few days), ask them what they think of Arc and whatever PWE game they're playing? And playing a game with a real-life friend is a lot more fun, so I suggest it be someone you actually know...It'd be easier to talk about this between the two that way, too.

    And maybe making a separate thread for this? So JUST the new players can give their input on what they think, or the veteran players giving the new players their input for them? I know that Arc is supposed to get data or whatever on how many people's using it, and they say they want feedback, but...All anyone's been doing is complaining about it....that's not exactly feedback...that's more like flaming...One thing that I've learned being with my husband, is that the more you complain, the less they'll listen...My husband is like that whenever I complain about things....(I know this is supposed to be a business that's supposed to satisfy their customer's needs, but maybe they're just being childish or something and wanting to work on other things instead of listening to the players...) So maybe if you guys make a single semi-official thread just for inputs?

    (Wish there was a special recruit-program kinda like what I was talking about above...If there was an actual program (like signing up for it or whatever, nothing to download), then it might be easier to keep track of things...)

    This way, we can really see if new players really like Arc or not... And for it to be even better, I think more than one person needs to do this, since everyone has their own opinions about something. I've tried doing this myself, but here in Owensboro, no one is into online games much....Unless it's those big-named p2p games...Every time I tell someone about PWI, they say that they've never heard of it. ._. Then they ask me if it's like that big-named p2p game... (you guys should know what I'm talking about on that one...hopefully...)

    I used to have a friend who liked playing PWI, but he played it for a few months when it was first released, got me into PWI, then he got bored and quit and hasn't played it since. -_- I've tried talking him into getting back into the game, but he's into other games now.

    What I think about this whole thing: PWE is getting really big-headed and is focusing more on things that'll make them seem cool and things that bring in money, rather than things that make players happy. Did you know, that the rubber-banding glitch is still there? Since 2009? And I've changed computers 4 times since then, so all those glitches aren't my computer's fault... (That particular glitch might have been there longer, I don't know. I started playing in early 2009...)

    Sorry for rambling for so long...I tend to do that when I'm trying to figure out how to describe an idea or whatever...

    I have both types running on two seperate computers. So far only had problems with the download through the new Arc. It is making it easier for hackers to log into my account. I have also been having more computer security risks. So I have uninstalled and am also currently going to only play the pre-arc version I have on my other computer. Since I have NEVER had the same amount of problems I have been having with Arc.

    1. It's not making it easier for hackers to log into your account. They would have better luck with a keylogger virus that attempting to extract the code from your system and then decrypting it.
    Either way, the intrusion would be on you, and your lack of security, not Arc.

    2. The fact that you are having more security risks, has absolutely nothing to do with Arc. The fact that your security issues are occurring on your PC with Arc are completely unrelated to Arc. Check your systems security and educate yourself a little bit.

    3. Don't QQ at me that I'm supporting Arc and just calling you out. I'm the one that started this thread. I have a dislike for Arc. The difference is, I actually know what's going on with it and you're just making blatant assumptions.

    Like i said on a previous post on this thread ARC is not a add-on to download PWI, ARC is more then that, you guys should at least take a look at what it can bring to the community and help with feedback so coders can actually make it better for all of us.

    Like steam you can be playing and just Shift+Tab and have all there, i even hope in the future this will turn an smartphone app, like android, iphone, etc.

    Arc is terrible.
    The steam client overlay took years to get it to stop being sluggish or unresponsive.
    Programmers don't like being called coders.

    In all honesty, I tried arc on another computer and it was just in the way. I don't even like how I can't open my first PWI window without having the patcher pop up. Back in the old days, you didn't have to worry about that. Small patches that didn't really make a difference didn't need an update and you could just go on your way playing the game.

    I agree what the hell is arc?... It does nothing to benefit anyone what so ever, it is extra files we got to download... and it limits the number of accounts you can have active at once..SO even though ive played with pwi since day 1 , today I am quitting, my sister ignotrantly erased woi off my pc so the only way I can play woi again "my fave game from pwi" is to download it....but now it requires ARC... HAHAHHA nope! Ill go without bye guys nice knowing you all!

    As I'll be getting a new pc soon, I'm glad I still have an old version of the gaming on a memory stick somewhere.

    For me the main issue with Arc isn't that it don't work, more the fact that they force upon me a program I have no interest in having installed. Sure, there is ways to get the game without Arc, or launching it without it, but I don't think it's fair to force a lot of players to find a work around when just some months ago we had it the way we wanted to. Especially when a lot of players report that the new thing is glitchy and might have security issues.

    And if there truly is no way for them to go back to having PWI download without Arc, why does downloading using Arc, then deleting Arc and keep the game even work?

    simple. Arc isn't designed into the core of the game like GT(Game Talk) is. There's 0 benefits for us to have Arc, there's no bonus ingame for it like there is for GT.

    I guess i'm the only one who really doesn't mind it. Arc got me to download some of PWE's other games, one of which i played for a good amount of time. I can understand it from a business standpoint, advertising their other games, etc Though an alternate download would really help the community. Games don't do that as much (listen to the community, that is.) They're the people who actually play through the game and sometimes know what's best. I wish polls actually did something...rarely does it solve something major.

    When I started almost 5 years ago now, I looked at JD, ESO, BOI (when beta), FW (when beta), Neverwinter (when beta), etc. I tried 9/10 of their games and didn't like most of them. JD is an idle game, meditate and level up. so many people are maxed out already, and it's pretty pointless.

    Yippee...it let's me play other PW games. Umm, sorry, I don't play any other PW games. Nor will I play other PW games. As greedy as pw is with PWI, I learned my lesson. Now if ARC becomes a must use, I will be a figment of PW's imagination, and will take my money elsewhere.

    I hadn't played PWI in quite a while and when I went to do the latest update, my characters were visible during the selection screen, but invisible in game. So I reinstalled the entire game - which required ARC installation. Then my characters were all visible, but with level 1 gear and no inventory and were all level 1. The character data gone? No - ARC had installed it to the WRONG FOLDER and put it in C:\Program Files (x86) because it couldn't tell my previous installation was simply in C:\
    Now both sets were broken. I found an OLD backup (version 399) on my external hard drive and restored that to the C:\ (actually C:\Perfect World Entertainment ) folder and... Then it said the update folders were corrupted, so I am running Verify now and it's downloading a bunch of other stuff (without ARC, I think, since I killed th ARC process with the Task Manager).

    Still waiting to see if it repairs, updates, and has my characters at their full levels and gear when it's done. If not, I'm uninstalling ALL the PWI stuff and going back to playing World of (youknowwhat) and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Neither is free to play, but at under $15/month for either and with no cash shop, they both end up cheaper for me than PWI ever was. I remember sinking stupid amounts into Zen. I just wanted to revisit my characters for a few minutes, but I guess it may end up not being worth it.

    i don't see what is the problem with ARC.
    i downloaded my game true ark took around 20 minutes and with ARC u auto loging,
    no need to tipe ur username or password.

    Is it just me or the download from this linkno longer works? D;
    I left the one I downloaded sometime ago at my work PC but I had to delete it while cleaning out that PC,
    so I tried to grab it again on my home PC and now link keeps saying "File is not found" when I click on the download link :c

    I promise once Arc becomes mandatory I'll just hex the exe to avoid it. and if I get banned for it, well, PWE will lose one more player. A player that loves the game, and has been wanting to spend cash on it but isn't able *shrugs*

    Umm...It's the same thing? Except now You have the option of installing their other crappy games.

    In terms of people who only play PWI though, it's still just a glorified launcher w/ faster downloads (even then, I always just downloaded the patches manually...now it does it for me). That's about it.

    I doubt its some revolutionary game platform (ex: Steam) like they're trying to make it out to be. I don't have that much faith in their capability.

    TBH I'm more worried that it'll be full of bugs just like everything else they've tried to release. But the people threatening to quit and go to BBB and etc? Cry me a river pls.

    Idk, they way I read it, it came off as (in the future) being required to even patch. I could have read it wrong, it was sometime between 3-5 am.
    I think a lot of people have more issue with it being forced , rather than optional.
    Personally, I have no desire to play any other games (or even check out) pwi has to offer.
    Dealing with all the bs on one game is enough.

    TBH I think if they just ninja'ed the launcher one day without telling anyone or anyone knowing, no one would even care, and just be like, "oh, they updated the launcher with new graphics. Still looks lame. W/e, back to pwi."

    If anyone played PWI back when it first launched, the launcher was pretty frickin bland compared to what we have today.

    Yea, the game and everything with it has changed a lot. Sadly, some of those original buggy issues are still lurking about. Now that is something they are good at. b:chuckle
