    Lol and to think I was planning to get r9 in a few weeks... Well at least this opened my eyes on how PWI runs things. I've only been playing for like 2 months, so I'm a little unaware of how they did things. I actually expected them to be a little more professional and responsible than this, considering it's a game that runs out through many countries. Sadly, they are running something that they themselves don't even know how to fix...Easy money huh? Well good things is that the more they **** up, the less profit they will make so it affects them too.b:laugh

    That would have been the case had there not been a component of addiction in money spending on packs and other. People will not spend less, of that rest assured.

    man.. lol its crazy what ppl can talk about on a formum lol not like the GM cares about what ppl think lol hes still like "eff you ppl we are still fixing it" if not now then later and btw the site been down for like 4 -5 days xD you guys just now posting the jonas is gonna be down IT BEEN DOWN lol but thx for informing us like some time in the future.. but... ahhh.. yea.. >.<Q

    its a free mmorpg what u guys expect lol xD its not like the real games like WOW or **** or the pre paid games so it being free really means " ofc we gonna eff up " LOL

    They said the web fix would take a day at last ( 14th of this month) and till today (19th) we're still waiting for it....
    Even for the so called "gift given at the expansion launch for users who asked for it in the webpage"

    Well... guess it sucks not to be the main Perfect world, cuz we complain here and there isnt a fix or something for us ( since its not PWI chineese, cuz everything we have come from there. Remember the clerics mag buff bug for example? its still here, not to mention many other bugs but well..) sooo im ending my own topic right now and return to the " wait untill something arrives" status =_=

    Update 2-15-2012: We are currently unable to send items to players, meaning that the DQ shop/facebook connect blessings/token shop/etc.. are not functioning correctly right now. This also means that the Launch Giveaway at the Descent teaser site (http://pwi.perfectworld.com/descent) is affected as well. We're working on the system, and we'll get it back up as soon as possible, after which the Giveaway items will be sent out.

    They indicated up front that there was a chance that there'd be a hitch ("Our plan is"), then once they realized that things are quite broken, they updated us. The update didn't say "It'll be back by the 19th" or any other date. Frankie DID post that it may take a week or more elsewhere in this thread, but that's just noise if added to the first post.

    As for the expansion gift, they never said what it is nor when after the expansion's release it'd be sent. I seem to recall something along the lines of "after the expansion is launched" when I sent mine. A week or two after certainly does not fall afoul of that.

    And the DQ Rewards system and Facebook connect is definitely only for PWI. The item sending system, however, is (as far as anyone knows) the same or similar across all of the official licensees.

    The most likely scenario is that whatever PWE was told/given doesn't apply to the current patchlevel of the game. So, it'd be logical that it gets fixed this next maintenance or the one after. However, it'd be suicide for them to even think of telling the player base that. Especially one that's as demanding and rabid as PWE's. (Nevermind the entitlement issues...)

    So yeah. If you can't be patient and can't live without your pigments and blessings, it may be time for a break from the game for a couple weeks.

    It was said to come out on launch day, which would be the 15th, but it was mentioned that item sending effected this too.

    you know, I wasn't even accumulating points before the took the pages down. I've had 9980 DQ points for almost 4 months, despite vendoring a good amount of DQ items.

    So, I'd rather see this FIXT and not just half assed, like has happened before.

    That's because 2x normally comes with a big update and the pages have to fixed to mesh with the new big update.

    You know, if a service was down in my company for as long as it has been down with this game, as the Sys Admin, i would get sacked!
    Get some people onto it, if they don't know what they are doing, higher some contractors.
    A lot of us do pay good money to this company, the least we can expect is fast turn around on issues, or a compensation for it being out of action for this long.

    i mean,
    we're considered customers. compansation would be appreciated,

    not only that, but someone should give us updates on the status of the situation.

    People, it's quite likely that the fix requires a server reboot. The way the playerbase pisses and moans about scheduled maintenance, they'd have their heads severed if they did an out-of-band maintenance to turn item sending back on. "WTF! You're going to interrupt my 2x so people can get dyes and even more blessings? Bad PWI! We demand 2 more weeks of 2x for compensation for the servers being down a couple more hours!!!!11111"

    But really, they obviously didn't anticipate any issues this severe from the expansion in relation to the item sending. And they can't really give us much in the way of detail since they'd get jumped on no matter what they say. We only have ourselves to blame for the lack of communication in this regard.

    I am by no means a fan of how PWE handles situations, but there's no way I can fault them in this case. "Our test server didn't have these issues and they will be fixed with the next maintenance, with the item sending reenabled on Wedsnesday" would be just as wrath-inducing as them just staying silent... Especially if something even more unexpected happens on Wedsnesday that makes it not work...

    We, as a playerbase, need to get over our entitlement issues here. Especially since lots of the complaining is that people can't sell their privacy more to get an in-game boost that allows them to mask the fact that they can't play the game otherwise... b:surrender

    Agreed, but i feel that something along the lines of "we have a fix for the issue and it will be implemented in the next Maint", would go a long way. They don't need to admit that they messed up (as if they ever would), but just a small notice to keep us up to date with the issue at hand would be nice.

    And the expansion went really well in my opinion. They should have had the launcher download the DirectX redistributable instead of obliquely saying you should without further warning. Otherwise, the graphics are improved, my FPS is up, my Mumble overlay finally works in the game, there's a lot of new content (with evidence of much more to come), and so on. As for the time it took to update, the manual update was recommended. And it's almost a gigabyte of small files, so there isn't anything they can do about your hard disk speed or antivirus settings...

    We can live without the extras via item sending right now. Seriously, we don't need the blessings to play. Sure they would have been nice for the 6 factions who failed their PvE TWs on Lost City, probably, but they likely wouldn't hold their land against an invading fly... Otherwise, we're playing the game as it's meant to be played right now. Sorry if you don't like that. *shrug*

    And thank you for bolstering my facepalm about how everyone constantly demands 2x. b:sad

    Asking for 2x was just an example of what they could offer as some kind of recompense.
    Don't get me wrong, I am more than happy with the new content they have added. I'm just saying, i am one of those that would like more information on what they are doing to resolve the issue.

    you have to accept blessings and DQ do not bring PWI revenue so fixing them will not be a high priority as long as people keep buying gold. Blessings are a relatively new addition to game it used to be you got and automatic +10 blessing when you entered an instance but lost it when you left. We had no problem farming or pking without them so whats the big issue.

    Actually, we had for the longest time the jade of steady defence from the attendance quest, but you see, since the blessings proved to be better, people broadly opted for them instead. This said, having more than 45 minutes notice at an obscure time in the middle of the night (remember the player base IS international), may have afforded people chance to make contingency plans.

    Furthermore consider the fact that the DQ and blessing send features were working prior to the update, why "fix" what isnt broken? It is impossible to test software for every eventuality, but, a trial run on a test server to ensure that all the normal interactive features still work with an expansion added is both common sense and not difficult to run.

    It is also normal practice in software design to make absolutely certain that the addition of what PW themselves describe as an expansion is simply that and doesnt interfere with already proven programming. If there had been simply a problem with the surprise gift sending feature, no one would have been surprised and complaints would have been minimal by comparison.

    Personally I have seen on countless occasions so called upgrades, improvements and fixes on here which do way more harm than good. Prime example was the dragon glitch fix for FF. It hasnt been fixed in any way shape or form, it is still possible to spawn multiple dragoons. All they did was trash the xp for them,and kill off the xp on the dragoons after the phoenix boss.

    The analogy is of a doctor sticking a band aid on the cut on the arm of a haemophiliac. Sure it covers the cut for a few seconds but it doesnt in any way stop the blood loss.

    So people who religiousley stock up blessings are 30% stronger in PVP and PVE, while the rest of us "play the game as it's meant to be played"...

    Pretty sure the Blessing slot is meant to be in the game, also pretty sure the Jones Blessing has been established as a permenant fixture... But people shouldn't complain or ask for compensation because PWE can't coordinate an update with their services?

    Personally I resent taking 30% longer to farm anything on a 2x event, 35% with the "nerf", I personally don't feel like PVPing against people with a Jones, especially the r9 already OP attack levels. I personally don't think the decision of what people need and don't need to play effectivley lies with you.

    Get ready to facepalm, I, just me, personally, would appreciate 2x when the blessing is fixed, so I can enjoy the update and 2x as it's "meant to be played." b:kiss

    I couldnt agree more. Take as a point too the number of times that the annoying banner spam was used advertising the blessing / facebook facility. If you advertise something, especially to that extent, it is probably wise to provide what you say provide.

    How about, each time someone goes to acquire a blessing, and they cannot because they dont provide what they advertised, we each take a moment to post on facebook the following:

    (Insert name here) was just denied an advertised service from Perfect World international.

    Free publicity can be a double edged sword you know ;)
