If any of you can generalize that the game is dying because many of your friends are quitting/because of the forum posts, I'll generalize and say the game will continue on regardless for a while longer due to the number of people I still see playing, my friends still logging on, and even those that are returning. When the expansion comes out, I'll be lagging because of the masses of people trying out the new classes.

We can only make judgments on the limited scope we have of the things we see around us in game. They at least have more information on how many people play/how much money is being made, etc so in the end I think it'll probably end up the way they want it to.

What people mean right now by the game is dead not because of no player playing
but the company decide to kill it them self by providing easy way to obtain almost everything
that previously need you to spent lots of money, become great merchant, or work hard on instance .. .

i have friends rage quitting becuz they don't see any point in the game anymore

I don't understand why you're all complaining that it makes the game dead. The whole point of working towards a goal is for yourself, not to compare yourself to other people. If you want to go farm rep, go right ahead, it's still there, and congrats yourself for doing that and receive grats from your friends. No one else is going to care that you spent all that time getting it anyway.

Maybe their form of entertainment is spending a lot of money, getting good fast, having a little fun and moving on. Just because that's not your taste doesn't mean you should bash those that do and say that's not a "way to play the game."

If you got it through farming you're a person with too much free time on your hands (no life?), if you got it through cash you're just a bad little cash shopper. There's really no win-win so just go enjoy the game and let it run its course.

Please explain to me why you would want the average person to have the best of the best? If you were going into surgery, would you want the average person performing it? No. You ask for a specialist or a person that is much more qualified for the job. How would you feel if you worked hard for that college education, busting your behind to get up to a PH.D, and somebody who has essentially just graduated high school gets to teach as a Professor at a prestigious university or something got that position over you. You'd be pissed right, well it's like the same idea. All that work that you worked hard for becomes absolutely worthless because you don't stand out of the crowd anymore. You are not "special" you are now average. All that time, gone. All that work and effort, obsolete.

And no, people aren't saying that people are going to buy their end game gear and leave. That's stupid and makes no sense what-so-ever; the people who are so called leaving are the people who are the players who think that this is a dumb idea and don't want to stay around for more dumb ideas. Many of those players are those who have worked hard, and feel as if everything they did was for nothing because "oop, now you can get better gear for about $200".

Sure, the whole point of a goal is for yourself; however, that's a fantasy idea only obtainable if we as humans were NEVER around anybody else. Competition is everywhere in day to day life, and usually when people want to "further their education" or "further their career" is to be better than the rotten Joe that they know. We are competitive, every species is and all we want to be is better than somebody else. To get the best of the best, and the top of the top.

You are talking about being fair? That's not fair to give the "best" out to everybody because the best should only be given out to those who deserve it. Yes, you might sit up there and say, "well those people who are spending this kind of money are those who are working hard in real life"; however, there are also people who are also do nothings who spend this kind of money as well on armor in a game.

This is not a problem between chash shoppers and ftp players. The problem is that the ftp players are being largely left behind by this decision by PWE. So, it is PWE vs. ftp players. If there was a way for ftp players to get the same benefits from this as paying players (using work over time instead of money), then it would be fine, but there are not many ways left to get enough coin in game to pay for the expensive gold needed to take part in this.

Maybe you should go back and read some posts. The people that are leaving that worked hard, couldn't control their frustration at this lost of "self worth" and quit. There are people that have worked hard (trust me, we've farmed for many countless hours for refines and gear and stuff) but are still willing to work hard are still here

I never said it was fair, rather I hoped to point out it was unfair to both sides, and that regardless of the unfairness, it is your own choice for ruining the gaming experience because you can't handle your competitive nature and pride
