I was looking into this today hoping to see indeed a Update or something from the GM's that they are working on it... Apparently not just the hairstyles are messed up but also the "soft" effect of the hair at the other classes. It looks so rough and bad even with all Graphics on >.<

    This is my Before:
    2009-12-1420-30-02.jpg

    And this is my After:
    2009-12-1715-52-17.jpg

Okay it doesn't look so bad but I still want my old one back, it's definently not what I wanted to see on this character. I tried to send a ticket up somehow it would not let me, always reloading the Page. My guess was and still is that their Ticketing system is pretty busy, huh. Tomorrow at the weekly maintenance I hope to see this solved... and Hopefully they won't force us to fix this at own cost. We where the victims of this big Patch, we should not pay for their mistakes b:surrender

Heh when ticketing fails (a couple of hundred times at least, with resized images for your pleasure) I wanted to share here. Enjoy my sheer horror please.

    Normal, pretty Sy:

    normalhair.jpg

    and now, horror ensues:

    hairnightmare.jpg

The thing is, my char represents me. It has my face, my eyes, my hair, my body. It's the way I look and the way I wanted it and still want it to be.

So please, give me back my hair, the way it once was. I don't care if you deleted that style, I didn't want it to happen. I'm throwing real money at this game, it's from me and countless others that you make your profit, and since this was your mistake you'd better fix it. I do not care how, I just want my old hair back. No buns, no twists, no pigtails, just this. This is all I want. This is the way I created my char. I'd like to keep it this way.

    Thank you so much PWI.

yea but even beyond that point, my hairstyle isnt even available anymore, so even if i were willing to shell out the 2 bucks, i cant fix my problem.

I just noticed what they did to my cleric. I haven't logged in it for awhile and when I saw it, it was a mess. I haven't posted about it though and here I am, trying to get my old hair back. b:surrender

    skybelle.jpg

I had the EXACT same hairstyle and it changed to that ugly one.

And my Duchess is a darker skinned character so that straight hair and bangs looks like **** on her. The wavy hair worked and I'm not willing to shell out money to fix this. I chose wavy hair for a reason. I would love some feedback at least on why it's **** now

Alright GM's, any news on the glitch yet? Seriously, after 22 pages, you could really give us some info.

(About the hairstyle switch issue) One of my alts is having this problem, and I'd like to know if i should just wait till the hairstyles are switched back to normal again or if i could just go ahead and use the one-time-quest-obtained Makeover Scroll without being afraid of another switching happening.

    Thanks in Advance ^_^

In new patch, problem not fixed... b:sad

I guess we're stuck with this
Let's see what the patch notes say, maybe they just don't regard it as a problem, but as a planned upgrade...? b:shocked

If they regard pissing off countless players with an "upgrade" they must be very .... I'll stay polite here. Very very wrong.

If they could delete stuff, adding the same again should not be a problem.

    Or so I hope. >_<

I sent in a ticket before (it FINALLY went through) and have yet to have received any sort of a response.

BEFORE and AFTER the Rising Tide update. :/

As the other users above have said, it would be nice to hear some sort of an update on the issue - if the hairstyles have been removed permanantly then I'd hope that there would be some sort of a suitable replacement hairstyle and a makeup scroll given to the users' affected because in all honesty, my opinion of the other styles is quite low - they look rather similar to each other and my favorite styles have now been removed in this update leaving nothing much in comparison to the new Tideborn styles... which pretty much shafts the other races selections.

    b:irritated

I have to agree. Pretty lame. My wife posted here; sent in a ticket; got an email wanting mostly the same info she submitted the first time; responded with the requested info (around Sat. or Sun.) and has heard nothing on it since. We would definitely appreciate a post from GMs such as (but not limited to): we're working on it, should be fixed soon, or especially: no, you won't have to buy a makeover scroll to fix this, it will be taken care of. b:infuriated b:beg
P.S. If there was a post made and I missed it, sorry. lol

I sent in a ticket about a week ago when the problem started, but still have heard nothing back. I do hope that this is something they will be able to fix, as the hairstyle I ended up with is really not me at all. b:sad

I'd love to have my fohawk style back instead of this long haired semi what failed looking mullet with a random tiny white yamaka hat with random ribbons hanging off of it.

Its not our problem or our fault that our hairstyle has gone so please fix it, it is your responsibility to fix it, and right now i refuse to buy a scroll aswell for something that is not of my doing.

I really hope that's not true.

No matter what the icon looked like, NOBODY picked their hair style based on the icon. It was picked based upon what the actual hair looked like on their character. Any attempt to say that this is a "fixed" glitch is simply an attempt to avoid fixing the problem caused. My wife's veno had the curly shoulder length hair and now is stuck with what appears to be the default (bandanna and some weird hair loops) hair style.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the hair style that everyone had before the expansion still be in the selection options if it were just an icon glitch that was fixed? Unless the style was simply removed. Then wouldn't the people who had that style deserve a chance to pick a new one if their old one was removed?

We were asked to post pics of before and after here; did that. We were asked to submit a ticket with before and after pics; did that. We've done what was asked of those of us with their hair that's been changed, we deserve at least some response from a Mod or GM as to the progress of fixing the issue.

yea, all that plus... the hairstyle that the fox veno forum avatar has.. THATS ONE OF THE STYLES THAT DISAPPEARED! nobody can say that this hairstyle was never meant to be in the game.. maybe it was never meant to be in china, but it was here. as were all the others.

it's just astonishing that all the nice looking ones were removed. and replaced with ultra-anime looking garbage. and yes, nice looking is debatable, but i can probably name like 20 people off the top of my head who had a style that was lost (incidentially all of these people are also obsessed with cash shop fashion, and most buy direct, with rl money). they were popular. popular amongst the people like me, who tweak their character's looks to no end. my toon is the result of a MINIMUM of 20 makeover scrolls, and thats not to brag, that is to illustrate the point that it took me that much TIME and that much MONEY to find a look for my character that i was content with. and now this..

and i swear if they release these styles as wigs that we need to pay for i'm going to flip the hell out.

Seeing that the tide are better graphically, and since all the races are created by PWE, which do not improve graphically other races only it would mean lazy devolopers or people with no new ideas.

If I'm not saying the truth why PWE have not improved the old races?

This is what I think, my opinion.

It would be nice to have an update on this. But lets be patient.

On the graphic issue on being better, there is 2 way you can improve the character. 1st is to modify the 3d model and give it more polygon making the model less rough on the edge. This would not really improve the appearance but only remove pointy shoulders etc. This is also true for armor and Fashion.

On the 2nd option they would have to redo all the 2D color map for all the 3D model, making smaller pixel painting. This would take a lot of work to redo all the armors details and fashion details. It is the most time consuming part of a 3d model.

It would be nice to have an update but it would require a better Vid card has the graphic get more definition, they take more resources to process. Witch is probably why the tideborn area is harder on you Graphic, Adding the number of player in that area.

Back to the hair Glitch, Programming sometimes is very frustrating. The main program has probably limited address for hair style, Since they added 2 race they needed space for the new hair style. On pure speculation here, they probably had a dead line like any work and increasing the address for hair style might have been more complicated then simply reducing old race hair style and giving those address to the new race. The problem will probably be fix whit the next major update. Were other issue will be fix in the tideborn area. Let just hope there is enough ticket to make the PWE Team realize they removed a popular item.

Best wish for the 2k10 ^^

If they aren't going to fix the hair, can they pay for the divorce? Dude, seriously, I can't be married to a chick with a rag on her head. Not happening.b:angry
My wife has made a serious attempt to do all the steps given by "powers that be" and so have a lot of other ppl. They deserve some sort of response.
