Once you've played a game where pking has no penalties like RF you''ll agree with me, and with RQ as a whole.

PKing is about knowing your enemy loses something, and that you may lose even more than him. It gets the blood flowing, you boring carebear.

The problem is just, your opponent WONT lost something, the reality of PK on PW is you're either going to win a moral victory or lose ur own gear/items/nothing. Dolls completely destroy any sense of win/lose in Pk'ing.

Sure there are ppl that dont resort to using dolls and pk others based on a challenge or something similar to that, those are also the type of person that wont do it just to get items and may even return dropped things. Unfortunately taking in to account that stuff like HH gear on a 1x rate server is pretty damn hard to get it just takes one lame doll spammer to make me lose my temper and leave the game.

He's right. There are 1% chances to drop things when killed. 1% to drop an inventory after being PKed, and 1% to drop an equipment after being mob-killed. I've experienced both.

Lol? You've experienced dropping things as a white name? I've been playing for a year and a half and NEVER has a white named drop something or I have dropped something from being white.

the white drop is really scarce and its normally inv items, I've only dropped a mining shovel from a mob kill in 60 lvls worth of playing. Its not a big issue, the red/dark red drop rates are amazingly nice tho and would really be a incentive for players to challenge pk'ers.... in a perfect world without dolls -pun intended =P

o: Thanks ^_^ I suppose you know me from Pw-MY? What was your name there o:?

sorry for the late quotes karmelia
You personnally asked evryone who will ever come to play this version of the game?

No I just made an estimate based on the forums response.
yes I did. I was even in the same NON-PK guild as you for a time :D

Why does everyone from Pw-My have to change their names D;? Though by the way you post I can already guess who you are. Most definitely from Sanctuary and were once a co leader oui?
They will block countries who already have their own version of the game :

Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Brazil, Russia.

11 countries out of a couple hundreds... I barely conmsider 11 countries a lot...

At the end of the day an IP block is still an IP block. It may be the western international version (even though it doesn't make much sense)
    What is more egoistic :

1 - wanting players to be able to choose the way they want to play? (me)

    or

2 - forcing players to play a style of play they don't want to play? (you)

*dies* Ah you got me, you got me good xD
Ok i did overlook it from that point of view but I merely didn't explain it well. I referred to you being egoistic because having 2 servers like that might cause an imbalance in population ultimately ending one of the 2 servers.

Although on further looking in this thread the only reason a majority want there to pvp only server is to gank casual players. Personally it was nothing of the sort. I just have carebear dreams of people all socializing on one server. D< Although like you stated referring to EVE its very hard to do and cost lots of monies. Though I'd personally prefer a channel system rather then splitting the server in 2. Flyff seemed to adopt that well >_<

P.S. You do drop items with white name. Happened to me a lot T_T

Yeah. It's pretty rare. It happened to me once when I was level 40, got killed by Myth KOS enforcer Jayvie... Second time around level 70 on Sespy Bladewofts. The chances aren't high enough if you ask me... I mean, I don't enjoy dropping items, but it'd be nice to get items from other people. That'd put more point into killing white names.

I'm chatting with all my PW vet friends on vent right now and we've never experienced anyone white named dropping items. That is so weird you have experienced both

Maybe I'm blind, but where does it say that there will definitely be two servers? It's obvious that since two admins said it, it's true, but is there an announcement for something?

And... how will it work? There will still be TW and duels and the arena, right?

I want to get my facts straight. :)

PS. I've read just about all of the posts in this thread... but got really bored with the redundancy.

Yeah. The first time, I dropped a vambrace I had in my inventory. The second time, I lost my +1% crit arrow that I had equipped, lol. I lost my most worthless items - fortunate!

    Yes, simply :

PvP server : PvP always on.

PvE server : you can chose to turn PvP on or off, pending certain conditions (cooldown, red names...)

Hmm, thought this was the one of Pro PvP thread I had posted on before. Apparently not.

I remember that time that xarfox is talking about, those were quite fun with the exception of when you get someone that is just constantly PKing you that you can't progress. Even see method employed to try an regulate the PKing behavior so someone could PK a person for the fun but can't grieve a player to the point that they stop playing.

I still vote for evolving the PK to integrate more dynamics to it. I mean most methods to stop PKing all they do is try to put restrictions on PKing were the person doing the PK is penalized. However they can't make the penalty to severe or else you push people out of playing the game in the opposite method.

Instead I'd like to see benefits and more substantial rewards in the act of thwarting a PK'er when they are trying to kill someone or if they are grieving a player by constantly killing. I mean with how often I tend to hang around and help lower levels, it sure would be funner if I could enact like a escorting pact with a lower level(or group of lower levels).

When I succeed to protect them from PK'ers that the pact would reward me with some special currency or something for my efforts based on how well I did on thwarting the PK'er.

Then I could buy some special, and good, gear or other items. In that manner it would better drive my intrest to trying more to protect a lower level if I have a pact to protect if they are attacked, not if they aggresively attack another player though.

I didn't read the whole topic, but I haven't seen anyone with the same opinion than me, so I'll state it.

First my background. I have a char lvl70+ on PW-MY. I never PK'd anyone, except 2-3 people that pk'd guild members. PK is not my game (for now), and I never tried TW.

HOWEVER, I do think that having pk and non-pk on same server add spice to it. If say, 5-10% of people are pk'ers, you gotta have to watch around a bit more, and you can have surprises. PK create action. When someone PK someone of my guild, we do try to get revenge. This changes from fighting the same mob again and again. It creates a nice dynamics. I can't really understand people complaing about pk, since a white name don't even lose exp, and very very rarely loses items.

The problem I see with separated server, is that one will be populated 100% by pk, and the other will have none (duh!). I do enjoy that spice, even though I, myself, am not a pk'er. However, I can't have it on any of those server. If I choose the pk server, then I'll have to pk all the time, which doesn't really interest me for now. If I choose non-pk, it will lack that spice that made PW a really tasty game. And if nearing endgame I decide I do want to PK, it will be impossible :S So I'll get stuck there...

If you do seperate servers, please add the possibility of switching chars from one server to another. Why? Because many first-time player will go in the non-pk one at first. They will get to high level, and many of them will want to try that pk thing. But it will be impossible, unless thay re-create a lvl1 char on other server, which some people will do, but many won't. Transfering char would be useful in that case.

I don't like the idea of separate server, and I still don't know which one I'll choose if they keep it that way (I do wish that decision will be changed...).

This thread really grew fast. As far as I'm concerned the OP and those like him are only worried about one thing - not having enough lvl 30s to ****.

PK-Optional servers aren't perfect either, but having one of each is as close to the perfect solution as we can hope for.

@karmelia - I had no idea I knew you ingame on MY. It makes sense now, but damn I'm slow. :(
