Sadly...there still is no real competition for PWI..thats why people always get excited when a new promising update is announced. The illusion might be there for some people, that the new MMOs are better (at a first glanve they mostly are) but after seeing all of the beautiful graphics and going in-depth of the mechanics in every single game it comes down to the same pointless grind (or even way more than in PWI).
PWI is great in terms of gear progression that no other game managed to achieve so far. You will get constantly stronger in PWI with every day you play the game might it be due to level, cards, meridian, nuema, chart, skills, etc. ... Sure there is a point in PWI when it gets excruciating slow progression-wise...but going by experience..that point comes way earlier in any other competitor
If they'd just fix the obvious balancing issues and fix this unbearable enginr then this game could be great again, even in the west. Guess we have to wait and see.0 -
Seems like a new race with bard class , and another class wearing heavy armor and one handed sword, or maybe a witch, the one below bard pic. hmmm......or could be just npcs or game heroes xD
- new city, city as in new race's birth city or new map to explore?
- new "gear"(new addtion on old gears, like add star chart, or card on old gears), new multiplier besides atk/def lvl/spirit/penetration ? , or slots on rings ? , or completely different equipment slots ? or new addons for armors to counter g17 weapon procs ?
- new culti, new 2 FB, Fourth/fifth fairy ? fourth/fifth chi container ? quadruple/quintuple spark ??? o_O
- new arena(3vs3, or 6vs6, get credit and exchange reward) , no 1v1 for teaching someone a lesson ? I hope it's a free arena, not scheduled event.

Archer will already get a nice boost with the next update we get in pwi...if they now fix the chi cost with additional skills and make all skills have a 100% CC chance and not a 90% one then archers are good
I agree with Chary, it doesn't need much, but Plume Shell definitely needs a tweak with most phy classes hit like a truck nowadays, they can deplete mp real fast to 0 thus make cleric unable to do anything for a few secs. Give us clerics something that can be used to counter cc for a bit or just gtfo from a situation. Also with the addition of g17 weapons, other dds can utilize multiple procs from different weapons later, but clerics can't switch weapon in uvd. It's why I mostly gave up on all mmo's in general, I only every now and then check something out to see if it's anything different at all, but it's always the same, just in a different shell and different skills, it always comes down to some boring daily grind.
Main problem I have is that I just can't be bothered to spend +/- 2 hours a day just doing dailies, the same dailies every day on top of that, for days/weeks/months on end. It's boring.
Either way, it has nothing to do with the thread or the update in China.
It's fun that they finally decided to expand the world map.
The issue they should think about here though:
At the point where I left the game (or well not left, I log in every now and then), the map wouldn't even be full after the first week or 2 after a map reset.
If the world map is going to be expanded with 4 more area's, then I wonder how that will bode for TW (not for china, but the PWI).The only fitting image for this forum.0 -

I'm slightly curious about skills change, but knowing how reluctantly they really rebalance things, I'll stay pessimistic realistic for now. There will be general boost in damage probably. Stronger ppl will become stronger, weaker will stay where they are. And the same in next big patch. And again. Until new devs replace original again xd

You will feel disappointment as soon they will start sharing screenshots and teasers of the new expansion. If that new map is real (I don't believe it is, I've seen it already before, long ago), there is now way to fill such huge area with interesting content in such short time, unless they started working on it since supposed re-hiring of the old pw development team, in the end of 2013.0

I must admit as a long time end game pker I haven't always agreed with joe's posts, but i agree with his last post about sins and now about clerics. As a seeker, fighting an endgame cleric 1v1 is nearly impossible, due to their cc along with the double array stack, which is now uncounterable for certain classes. Sins also, can force me into a corner, making me only able to use defensive genie skills, regardless of my def lvls and phy def. Against db's i have no real counter to their lock, and if i do time my genie right and avoid it, they have too many defensive skills aside from their genie that allow them to just retry the lock. And then there are sb's.. It's hard to avoid to dd, the mobility and the vort/ulti combo. I feel seeker has been nerfed into the ground lately, especially vs these classes that are able to force my genie to easily while saving their own. As for seekers as class that is so easily cc'd, yet lacks cc itself, we relied a lot on def, and tanking with charm, but since the charm cd passive we have been extremely nerfed. The next update aims to add a new sac slash, which is great, and a massive boost to our ulti, but in 1v1 or smaller scale pvp this will still be non factor. Don't get me wrong, I think seeker is still one of the best classes out there for mass pvp which is why i still love it. But when it comes to 1v1 don't hope for any balancing act coming any time soon for any underpowered 1v1 class.
PS joe you are a fairly good analytical player and pvper, and you've mentioned seekers being good in 1v1 with occult ice. I've tried, experienced and havent had much luck with it vs the more op 1v1 classes, with the chance of occult failing along with the lack of mobility and being prone to cc, my genie lacks the chi to provide a chance probability at an a occult ice, due to being forced into a defensive mode from the onset. Charm passive was a great way to equalize and take down some op players in gank but really screwed over certain classes in 1v1.0 -

Think about it people: just one of those nations on the map is about the same size as our whole current map. If in the distant future they add the other 3 it would be even more big.
It is true what shade13 said about the game being overloaded with classes, but at same time the only thing that would justify suge a huge map is something like that, this of course not now but more in the future.
In fact if someone has paid attention to some of the text in different quests or even some of the cards, this game make allusion to those nations and some of the races way before the stormbringers and duskblades update.
Also while I understand that some people may get exited about new culti levels, skills, boundaries, etc, etc. There is a big problem on that: It is another dosis of daily hell and it put an even greater gap between the end game players and the new ones (or those left behind)
Maybe for our version that is not so relevant (since is semi-dead), but on China this game is still very popular, and while I know that the chinese playerbase likes all the grinding/daily thing. Even for them will be annoying if after they create a new character or come back from a break: they realize that they just can't catch up with this game, since it will end up having more daily quest than time to do them.

A friend of mine just built a new character from scratch, he can catch up with the rest of us in just about 2 months by cashshopping everything, everything but level, primal skills, and some minor stuffs, but it won't be too long to be on the same ground with older characters. Instant Sky level is available in the boutique, only the last one is usually unavailable, by the time he reached astral x , primal cultivation quests since arcane can boost shifting sky up to about lv 5 or 6.0 -

This is what it's going to end up to be, as always:
1. more "balance"
2. more areas to explore
3. more daily quests to grind
4. more collecting of hundreds of the same item to get upgrade x for <insert gear/skill/whatever/nuema/stuff>

More daily quests, more coin sink items, and a lots of new bugs.
And I'm sure as the current map will remain the same, only with new areas being "embedded" around, as they did with the tideborns, earthguards and nightshades cities.
And without an new and updated engine and more lag with a much, much larger world map. hahaha0 -
@freygin while I agree disblades can be tough if you aren't tacky in the least. But if you have atleast full drakeflames and know how to use your genie it's not difficult. Many a time I'll get on a cleric watch their charm tick once instantly use expel. Then I'm like uhm okay quadrature combo dead. I swear it baffles me why use expel when it's easy to stunlock people through expel as a db. The point I'm making Magic classes aren't 100% helpless you just need to know how to use your genie and get out joe has done it on his AA classes vs many db including myself even on his own cleric105/105/105 Seeking ScallyMode

You can literally build a pvp genie and make a cleric useless in 1v1 if you can time the skills right. The same doesn't hold true for sins/dbs.
Anyway, I'd like a return to dungeons you can endlessly refarm with a small group ala TT/Lunar/WS instead of dungeons with rewards locked behind daily quests that you usually need a bunch of people for.0 -
Some mentioned that we cannot fill enough content to such area, I do not believe we will have such big area unlocked but just a small part of it (around the one new city)
Based on the posts image descriptions there will be a main city, a hotel, arena, laboratory and forest.
I have no idea where the laboratory may be located, but by the looks of it, the arena are outside the city, same goes for hotel, maybe near the forest.0 -

@chary Clerics are alot harder to outplay compared to other classes like Mystics, Wizards, etc since, if anything fails they can just prevent the enemy from ticking their charms and eventually they will die. No HoS or Adrenaline surge will change that especially since the times in which the counterpart HAS to use them are ultrapredictable as well. If they use it, just use other skills, if they dont then they are dead anyways.

The current map is huge but most of what's in it is related to old contents where ppl farm dqs, can be used for leveling purpose or sell to npc for coins which is outdated/useless, also for tedious quests with very little exp for reward, that's pretty much it. There are only a few point of interests left in the current world map and there is no point to revisit most of the areas.
If there's going to be a new huge region to the west, it's better be filled with lots of point of interests and make them really useful for doing or getting something, not just filler areas to waste our time.0 -
I feel like mystics just need a complete rehaul, either towards a buff/shield supporty type of char with some CC (think Janna or Lulu in League; also, keep knockback+thicket at least) or a summoner (lbr, pretty much Annie). Though I love the class to bits, it's all over the place as it stands.0

This does not sound too appealing to me. I predict big filler areas, grind until you cry, and tedious culti.
New skills can be fun. A working pvp arena sounds cool. We already have two similar events that don't work, X server Thursday tournament and those pvp arenas in the major cities that never worked, so why would this be any different?
I'm probably within the minority on this, but as far as I'm concerned our classes are balanced. It's the gear difference that gets us the disparity that people confuse as class inbalance. With that being said new skills to "rebalance the classes" worries me more then anything.
And of course overall these big expansions do nothing but alienate more casual players shrinking our player base even more.0 -

People who are having so much fun discussing classes and pvp aspects of this game. Let me show you your sub-forum.
Back to the main topic. The text under the green tree seems to be of the nature (website translation, not human). We will unlock a new "knight" feature. Depending on the stats/skills we pursue in this feature, we will be able to get secondary effects on our skills. To use these secondary skills there will probably be some system to get the required resource for it. How for example if you use a sword, axe, pole or fist the skill effect changes. Could be similar in nature but for all skills based on what "tatoos" we get.
That is what i got for most part regarding that, hopefully someone can provide a better translation regarding that piece.0
