Quick questions, does the above include engraving costs on ringx2, necklace, belt, helm, robe?
Is the S card cost = acquiring it? or lvling the cards as well?0 -

No its just a very rough estimate and it only includes the things that according to my excel cost a max of around 50 mil per 1% offence or defence improvement. No engravings, (although some are indeed very cost efficient) or leveled cards. I just guestimated that you need to buy about 10 S cards to get 6 different ones.Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0 -

See my post on the previous page for more detail on some of the things he left out. The cost of the card sets isn't really worth seriously considering. A matching S card set will cost a fortune (cards are all random). The best set in the game will more than likely cost more than everything else combined to obtain (in the neighborhood of 60 billion coins on archosaur or $20,000+). I don't believe the international version of PW allows reawakening cards as of yet (which requires a duplicate of every card in the set, i.e. another fortune).
"Good cards" (any 6 S cards not necessarily matching the card slots) might run you 3 billion or so (4 gold for 2% chance at S card). "Great cards" (small matching sets, each S card type matching its slot type) might be 10 billion.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

S cards that are not in their own slot are pretty much a waste. Leveling doesnt work when they arent in their slot, so in those cases lvl 40 A cards (costing a fraction) will do just as well or better.Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0 -

I am not talking about the people who montly deposit 10$ as if it was a subscription game because they feel they should help their bit to keep the game running. Indeed someone needs to keep the server running. If the game were not designed P2W, i would probably be one of them. But this game is designed P2W so instead of many people paying a little bit, a smaller group pays a lot. That is the group of morons.
If they can afford to spend milions and milions in this game what is your problem?

personally i cannot afford to pay a little bit in this game so i am very thankfull of those smaller group of ''morons'' that pays a lot so i can Free to play this game.

I just said i am not telling people what they can do or not. I am not in that position, i aint no dictator. Why do you want me to stop with what i am not doing ? You want me to stop voicing my opinion then ? No i wont stop voicing my opinion because you dont like it.
And there are things i can say about people in general without having to be some kind of medium. As i have met and spoken with many 1000s of them troughout my life, spread over 3 continents of this planet and also watch TV and use internet which is a representation of many people and their culture, i have enough information from a large enough sample size of population that i can in fact say things about people and what they think.Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0 -

Of course you are entitled to your opinion. And I would support your right to an opinion above all else since if you aren't allowed one, then I am not allowed an opinion either, and we can't have that, can we ?
So having gotten that out of the way, my opinion is that YOU are a moron for insulting and belittling an entire category of players just because they choose to spend THEIR (not yours) hard earned money on a hobby that entertains them, supports an entire legion of F2P players, and without harming anyone else.

I have, over the years, paid a lot of money for this game as it does stack up. During this year I am at 100-150g worth of money spent, which would still be more than 10 bucks/month. My reasoning is simple though, this "the hobby" for me and even if I dropped my usual 50g monthly it would still be around what gym membership costs.
And when I drop money in PWI I get an excuse for myself to not waste it elsewhere (alcohol, candy, fastfood, etc.). As somebody who was sliding towards alcohol problems some years back, drinking only beer or two monthly is quite positive result. As for spending money on PWI and talking bout it? No, I dont mention it but ppl close to me irl know I spend money on gaming.
Ps. I do wish PWI had taken the LoL route with managing the game but at this point its far too late for such action.
Edit: I doubt I am one of the hard CSers you mean, only mediocre.__Sami__ - Archer - 105/103/102 - mypers.pw/1.8/#132088 - Active

If I had tons of cash lying around I would prolly be a cser too xD
I mostly have a problem with csers simply because they are 99% of the time stupid and pathetic morons which has nothing to do with csing in general but with the basic lazyness that comes along with it.
Most just gear up to a point where they can simply tab-1-shot most of the players and thats sufficient for them. Then someone like me goes their way and just facerolls them (Great feeling btw, should try it out :P ). But it only feels good for a second. You can show such ppl that their lazyness takes it's toll sooner or later and thats good but still the sadness is stronger. I mean I could have had an actually great fight if most of them wouldn't be that redicolously stupid. They don't even bother learning how to play this game -> That leads to the question as to why they are playing it to begin with? Easy. To compensate for stuffs. They wanna feel like they are something better then most other ppl. Like your boss showing off his new mercedes or stuffs like that.
I do know that this kind of psychological impact on ppl is what makes this whole "F2P" thing work to begin with but still...I despise people like that. They think they are better simply because they have more money (doesn't matter how hard it was earned, I could explain why...but I don't feel like writing down 10k+ words now...). All ppl are the same. There is nothing that seperates them right? Wrong. There is one thing. one little thing that seperates ppl and makes them respectable in the very thing they do. A little magical thing called "effort". That should be so obvious.
It doesn't matter how much money you pay. The ones putting in the most effort will always be superior in their specific doing. That does not make them better ppl or better humans in general except they apply this to anything they do and some others are doing nothing (but that would give us another inside on how twisted such persons must be and there we go...would be another 10k+ words...or maybe 20k dunno. A complicated topic.).
Take me as an example. I know this game nearly 100%. Nothing another one does can really suprise me. Even if I had myself (due to risky gameplay) in situations in which I end up dead I know long before I'm actually dead that it's going to be this way. If you have enough experience in something that is even Human vs human or player vs player then you can predict every single move your opponent does. That does NOT necessarily mean that you can counter it. Sometimes thats just not possible. So as a conclusion -> that makes me a way better player then most others playing this game. I'm not a better human. I might not be better in anything else but I am better in this game. Pure logic. Only very few ppl can say that they put similiar effort into this game.
OFC you could reach that without farming and simply CS anything and still spent thousands of hours to get to this level. Yep. But going the easy way (csing also always implies that you lack something, might it be time or intrest) always implies that you are mostly not willing to put any extra effort into the thing you're going the easy way on.
Look around you guys. The same thing applies to ANYTHING in our lifes. Anyones has limitless potential that just doesnt get used due to the lack of willpower and effort. Wanna be a guitar god? No prob. Put enough effort in it and you'll make it. Wanna be the best PWI player? NO prob. Put enough effort in it and you'll eventually make it.
IF the OP still thinks that he wants to play this game and is pretty sure that he'S got what it take to be the next ultra player then it really doesnt matter of you're going for a pure F2P style or if you charge some. With enough effort put into this game you can achieve anything all others did before but remember!!! The most important part is that you really should be sure you wanna put that effort into this game and if it wouldn't be better to put it into something else (learning an instrument or stuff like that). That decision is yours. Time is the only limited source all living beings have and as such the most valuable thing we have by far. Compared to time everything else is completely worthless. So use your time wisely I just say.
PS: FUUUU pretty long post and I could go on and on and on and on and on....xDDD you get the idea. Sorry for formulating everything that short. I once had a talking convo with a freind about this very topic. The conversation lasted for over 12 hours with me talking nearly nonstop for the majority of the time...So there is still alot that I let out on purpose. On the other hand I guess it would be cool to get the guiness world record for the longest psychological forum post in the history of man-kind.
PSS: I could write a book about why I even just posted the "PS" and why I'm now writing a "PSS" alone. xDDDD Frggin human psychology is like a black hole...endlessly and all-consuming.
+cough+ hint +cough+: We are all just animals deperatly fighting to be something more then that. Sums it up quite well.

WannaBM - Archosaur wrote: »Or much more likely, time. Can people now please stop assuming that everyone better geared than them are enormous CSers. They arent. I havent spent a penny, and just judging from his posts, i dont think Joe has ever spent a penny either.
All the top players you see, they are no-life gamers. CSers are just the bunch of morons who buy packs spend money on R9 and Scards but dont have the refines etc. The ones you see that make you wonder if they have any clue about what they are doing. If you have the mentality to be a cashshopper, i doubt you will ever reach the top.
Ok. Allow me to explain the reason that I said what I said.
OP said that he/she isn't even close to R9, let alone R8. I can relate to this, as I'm not either. To be quite honest, I'm getting close to R6. Keep in mind that I'm a veteran player, and this is a new player that we're referring to.
OP also stated that they spend a few hours a day in TT when they can. TT is a luck based instance, and OP isn't spamming it none stop. OP made no mention of numerous warsongs, nor FSP. So I'm assuming that OP hasn't rebirthed twice yet, but is rather focused on gearing up. (OP also mentioned that they're a new player.)
True, OP could spend a large amount of time farming, but OP already mentioned what they do in game already. It will be a LONG time before OP can catch up through pure farming, without basically living in Perfect World. Not for R9 purposes anyways. OP can catch up to G16. However G16 gets curbstomped by R9rr.
At OP's current rate, to catch up to pvp, they would need to....
*Aquire enough rep for R9.
*Aquire enough coin for base R9.
*Aquire enough coin, molds, uncannies, raps and material...and basic badges to get it from R9 to R9rr.
*Aquire a cube necklace.
*Aquire an endgame ring better than their R8 ring.
*Aquire a full set of S cards.
* Refine their gear up to +10/+12.
*Obtain endgame shards/gems.
*Reroll unwanted stats.
*Pay for maitenance and gear until OP reaches that point.
*Acquire an emperor tome.
Simply put, that's a LOT of coin to put down, and isn't easy to do without putting a lot of time, or a lot of real life money into the game. (OP isn't spamming instances non stop. Just in TT a few hours per day, and is talking about the economical issues as well.)
That said, in my earlier post, I gave my reasoning about what was worth it to me, and why.
No where in my post did I imply that everyone that is endgame is a CS. Nowhere did I mention anything about Joe, and his gear, so I don't know why you're bringing that up. I know many people that are R9, and did not CS. But as a new player, I'm stating that might not be worth it.
I also will disagree about all CS'ers being morons. Sure, many don't know their class...but there are some that can afford it, and do know their class.
Again, I don't know you got from any of my posts that I feel that everyone better geared than me is a CS. I've never stated that before. I acknowledge that many people earned it. I also don't see why you brought up Joe's gear, and whether he's a CS or not, whilst quoting me. I never mentioned Joe's gear. I only gave my opinion as a player, and as a player that isn't super endgame geared. While doing only a few TT runs at a time,...when they can....OP has a LONG way to go to get to a competitive PVP level. The only other option is to CS. That's why I stated that unless OP is willing to do that, I personally do not feel that its worth it.
PvE wise, OP can....but in pvp....OP has a huge mountain ahead of him/her. That is my opinion.
Please don't assume that I feel everyone better geared than me is a CS, when I made no mention of that."Male Player using female toon. Please don't flirt with me."

To answer your question OP, that depends. Do you enjoy playing this game? Are you okay with being a casual player until you can be competitive? If you are the type of person who doesn't enjoy the journey, then are you reasonably skilled at making coin and/or have money to help that along? Only you can answer those questions. If you enjoy the game, then it is worth it. If you do not, then it's not. Entertainment dollars are worth spending if you are entertained. I don't let others influence how I spend my money or tell me what's enjoyable because at the end of the day, they aren't me. And only I know what I'll find worth it or not.
I will say this, you got quite the journey ahead of you if you so decide to the competitive route. It's not easy but challenging games can be fun in their own right if you let them be and don't worry about what everyone else is doing or thinking.0 -
