Things that annoy you on the forum

One of the most popular threads under the General Discussion section this past month has been the thread, "Things that annoy you in game." So, I thought why not create one with respect to annoying things on the forum. People seem to enjoy having an opportunity to vent b:chuckle

In addition to providing people with an opportunity to release their stress and frustration, perhaps this thread could also provide the moderators and management team with some useful community feedback regarding how they would like to see the forum managed as well b:pleased

I guess I will start with something that annoys me on the forum - people that start unimaginative copy-cat threads b:sweat

Please close meow!

A couple of things that bug me about forums is that when The Jones blessing page or the DQP page goes down and has been down for a considerable amount of time, the amount of people still posting new threads all asking the same thing; "Is the Jones page down?" "When will the Jones page be fixed?" etc... Even when there happens to be a thread started by the CM stating that it is down and will be down for approx 'x' number of days, or they're not sure how long it'll take to fix. I mean, seriously? Are these people that freaking blind that they cannot see that thread or the numerous others on the same topic & on the same bloody page! b:angry

I hope so too. It's driving me crazy. Probably cause I find ini. editing easy. I don't see how it's difficult since most of it is copy and paste.

As a first time INI editor, I found it to be easy because of the copy-paste nature of it as well. b:chuckle

Well, usually any time something new is introduced there are tons of threads made on the same topic. People just like having their own thread for some reason. Personally making a new one or posting in one that's already one is the same to me. Unless it's something that would require me to edit the first post.

I know! The only way you can get it wrong is copy and pasting a number in the wrong spot, but all the files are labeled. The code is even labeled saying [Eyes] then gives you all your numbers for changing the eyes. Even without knowing any of the numbers, playing around with it you can get the numbers yourself.

Lately, the "How do I do this ini. edit" posts when there is clearly 2 guides posted that give almost every detail on the subject. And instead of asking a question about it on that thread, they make a completely separate thread and ask the question. Most of the time, it's a question that has been answered multiple times throughout the guide posts. The most frequent one would have to be "How do i put male hair on a female character" which is clearly explained in Venus's guide. Makes me want to pull my hair out.

    Anyway, done venting that. =D

    Agreed.

I also hate when people claim on the forum that they solo things but when you read how they are really multiclienting or using healers. The healer isn't chopped liver or doesn't matter people. And it's not solo if it's more than one character. At least, I don't count it as such. b:chuckle
