Other versions of this same game, created by the same company allows ini modifications under certain rules like: Don't make anomalous ugly looking creepy characters.
Finally, the .INI format belongs to a different company, these files are used to pass parameters to the DirectX and does not affect on the gameplay nor changes the original art developed by our Chinese fellows.

This Post is Fking Auto win and a Slap on PWIs face .ini extension was never owned by PW to begin with !
they should either make their own system or just let players modify a file THAT DOES NO HARM!0 -

About the bans, the way that we announced it was that those banned were the "worst offenders", and when it turned out that there were actually players who were worse than these and hadn't been caught, it really forced us to question the tools and methods that we had used. With this questioning came the possibility that we had banned people who may not have deserved it, and all of this made us feel that it was safer to clear all of the bans and start anew.
You are right, though, the ultimate resolution was not fair to the community as a whole. We had a major issue which we were not able to fix it quickly enough by a longshot, and those who exploited made out like bandits while those who abided by the rules ended up at a leveling disadvantage because of it. The consequences of all of this is apparent, and we are doing everything we can to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again.
Ok, so I've brought this up in other threads and gotten no response to it. This is no goon QQ because honestly I couldn't care less who's 105 and who isn't. But if you're so determined to enforce your ToS maybe you should spend some time actually playing the game. Had you done that you'd know how incredibly difficult it is to hit 105 legitimately. Anyone who did hit 105 prior to the glitch being public knowledge slaved in FC burning countless hours of hypers. It would take you 30 minutes to go through the server rankings and pick out who the majority (and by majority I mean 99.9%) of the "Worst offenders" are because I can guarantee you not everyone who is 105 bothered to put in all that effort to get the exp, they glitched.
Anyways...moving on. You guys "fixed" FC, yet in doing so completely ruined half of the instance. Since you implemented your "fix" nobody wants to do the third boss (Cyclotera) anymore, nobody wants to continue past the Big Room anymore and we now lose out on some of the best exp that the instance offered, the goons at the end. We also lose out on the rewards at the end because 95% of the time nobody wants to finish the dungeon mean you either need to have high level alts to solo it or have people actually willing to help you finish it so as to be able to turn in those tickets for a reward box.
Does this "fix" mean that you guys are incapable of adding different monsters and bosses to the game? You're unable to edit the coding of the game to do what you want? If so then I guess I must have been hallucinating when I saw and partook in the festivities the GMs had going on right around the time of the Earthguard Expansion. I seem to recall giant dinosaurs in West Archosaur and Chimeis running around everywhere. There are numerous threads that pop up about GMs doing this kind of thing across all of the servers. Now correct me if I'm wrong here (and I'll admit, I have been wrong in the past and very well could be here) but does that mean it would be impossible for you to say...remove a certain boss and replace it with something else, thus allowing you to restore the exp that the goons at the end of the FC instance give?
It really saddens me that you guys (the PWE staff) are comfortable sitting back on your haunches and allowing your game to go down the tubes. The additions to Phoenix Valley were great, the 100+ one is excellent, my wife and I run it daily and it really supplements the loss of exp from the FC "fix". Why couldn't you implement something similar to FC? Would it be that difficult to make a level scaled EXP dungeon? Something similar to PV or TT, where you must first select a difficulty? How about allowing us to run PV more than once a day? You allow us to run cube more than once a day providing we have a CoF Directorate Letter, why couldn't you add something similar for PV? You guys keep giving us "new" stuff, yet it's mostly "new" packs with the same crappy chances and slightly altered rewards or old fashion that's slightly re textured or renamed. Why is it so hard to give us something completely new? You did awesome with Endless Universe and that in itself proves that you're capable of adding new dungeons.
I know you're busy Frankie and this honestly wasn't meant to be an attack but if you could take the time to answer this I would be deeply grateful.
*EDIT* Stupid avatar refuses to update, I'm actually 102, almost 103. Also forgot to spell check b:laugh0 -
GMs we request a Decent Fix to Cyclotra Styren, 3rd boss in Frostcovered City.
This is what we suggest.
First Solution:
-Revert Goon's Exps to the value it was before or 120% of it. (this will motivate people to make Full FC runs)
- Read Cyclotra AI Procedure, move the action which spawns the goon from the event "boss_is_started" to "WhatverTimer_Ticked" and replace that action with a "Create_timer(WhateverTimer, 3, 1);" where instead of spawning goon she creates a 3s timer which will tick only once to create the fist goon.
Second Solution: (If everything else failed)
- Duplicate the mob 24804 and return its exps to the former value or 120% of it. This 24804 is the afterheads glacix dragoon.
- The new copy of the mob will have an ID, as for our example we suppose its 36051.
- Nerf 36051 exps to the current Dragoon exps (100 exp).
Side note: Doing these 3 steps, you will have a normal exps goon (24804) and a nerfed goon (36051)
- Go to Cyclotra Styren's AI Procedure and change the mob spawned from 24804 to 36051.

Forum bans are also apparently really harsh. I don't know what has to say to be permabanned but one questions why someone would need to be if they aren't spreading viruses and such. I mean if the community doesn't mind the poster anymore and the GMs are no longer offended, shouldn't the ban be a little less severe? IDK[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm just not even going to address the Goonz issue; so many have already and at this point.. We're beating a dead horse. With another dead horse.
My issue is with the ini edits alone. I'll admit, I had many of my characters edited for a time. Recently, in light of certain events on my server, I removed all ini edits from my characters.
I feel as though my edits were completely founded. Many of my characters actually work from the same file, pasted into other class folders. I made my veno to look like me, and as such all my other "Reix's" have the same appearance. That means my veno, my archer, my cleric and my wizzy all use the same exact ini file (with minor changes. Ever paste a veno file on an elf? It's a little creepy, cause they were meant to read as more petite, I suppose.) As such, all four of these characters have the same defect. They all look severely ill. Their eyes look dull and lifeless, as though they're zombies or something. Nothing I do will fix it without ending up with a completely different character, EXCEPT the Earthguard eyes. It's the only fix I have to bring life back into them. I was so thrilled that there was finally something I could do. And now, they've all been reverted to their dull, lifeless selves. It broke my heart to change them back; it almost felt as though I was killing them. That I ruined the characters I had worked so hard to make.
I don't want a walking twig. I don't want a fat barb. I want to not feel as though I killed something I created.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

That's not my problem though. They aren't changing, even if it weren't allowed, as every single one of them are within ToS. The only thing about them that wasn't was their eyes, and removing the Earthguard texture has more or less completely butchered them.
Now, that being said, I suppose I can live without it. There was a time before the Earthguard and their eye texture. However, now that I've had a taste for the only thing to fix my characters, and it's been taken away, I'm extremely displeased.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Why did it take so long for someone to say: we cant fix the glitch so lets nerf the xp goons give. That should have been done the first week the glitch came out, then look and see if you can fix the glitch so you can turn xp rate back to what it was. All thats happened now is peeps have gooned their mains, alts and new alts to 105 and they havent been punished for it. Afaik, glitch(Bug abuse) is banneble so if ANYONE is found to be abusing said bug should be punished. This would prolly mean that 90% of the playerbase, maybe even more, would be banned and thats bad for business.
Now if i edited my ini for purely cosmetic changes and get caught ill be banned untill i submit a ticket, change my toon or remove all gear and be permabanned. As you have previously said this is being activly pursued by the GM team. To me this smells of double standards.
Solution is simple: pursuing people whove edited their ini(even though its against the TOS) is counter productive for the GM team, so lets be lenient on that issue while we put our efforts into other, more important, issues.0 -
To be honest the thing i don't understand is why only the ''worse'' offenders, why not all of them?
If i send 2 SS about 2 persons using .ini edit, do you gonna ban only the ''worse'' offender?
No, you gonna ban both nevermind which one abuse more.
But i guess ban everyone who used goon glitch would probably result in a ban of half the players.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Same for ini edits. I could throw a rock in a deserted area and hit a player with Earthguard eyes or Tideborn/Earthguard hair.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Errr I'm curious what stopped you all from implementing that reduced goon xp sooner in the first place.Lonely man with a big heart.0 -
Frankie, let me ask you about offensive IGNs and repeated awful behavior on world chat... A total priority for the well-being of the game, in my point of view.
How long would they be banned? Would they ever be?
This game needs proper enforcing in this regard. Too many people think they have the right to utter words that should not be accepted in the first place because they pay a lot.
How can this be solved? Will it be? Community hit a real low now. Temporary mending (such as the world chat filter, which was a sad attempt) never works in the long term.
Please don't hide the truth and do something before it's too late.
Do be honest and respond to this.
Best regards...
