I did like Kiki... i copied all files in the Data folder to a different map, then used Bubbles fix, went ingame, took off weap and put it in my bank, and then copy pasted the old files back to the data folder, replacing Bubbles fixed files. I figured a temporary changing of files is less 'evil' in the GMs eyes than perma changing it lol.

It does work great tho, i can use my chars again So yes i advise all having this issue to use Bubbles' fix...

Exactly the wrong approach. Since psys are the only ones that can trigger the problem, why would confining the solution to only psys stop the problem?

Pwi screwed up by releasing a flawed patch. Pwi compunded their screwup by not fixing it in the next patch. Bubbled screwed up by giving out information that can negatively impact everyone.

The fix going forward is not to sweep this collection of screwups under the rug, but to make everyone aware, and distribute to everyone the fix. If all the players, both psy and non-psy swap the models, then nobody will crash when the game tries to render the model being called.

PWI most likely had no idea the patch was flawed, and they can't fix it. Only the incompetent Devs in China can. But Bubbles should have never put this out in public and PWI should be informing people via System not to equip Psy recast.

Also, for those of you getting upset over this, just keep in mind even if I had not posted the fix it was bound to happen sooner or later whether it was by Asty giving out the fix through pms or if someone figured it out on their own. It's like the goon glitch all over again, except this time it actually affects people negatively.

The earlier the problem comes to light, the better.

The real fault in all of this lies in wanmei not releasing a patch for it earlier, and the original devs who coded the game for making it crash for every stupid error possible.

has it ever occurred to anyone that those most likely to USE the fix as a weapon already knew it. a previous poster already stated it was used during TW on RT.

the only thing taking it down does is make sure that when it happens, people won't know to identify it as glitch exploitation, they will blame servers and lag.

you guys who "encouraged" bubbles to take down the fix are ensuring that the choice few factions and players who understands the game waaay more than the average player will be able to take advantage of this exploit.

Bubbles, you should put it back up. your opinion that arming everyone with the DEFENSE against this fix being used as a WEAPON is faaar better than hoarding info so the exploit can be used without fear of those affected being knowing what happened.

I don't know... Bubbles gave me a way to be able to play my characters again, and i am grateful for that. There are a few players that can't log on to their characters for more than a week now, who knows how much longer it will be. And i have little trust the compensation given will be worth the wait. It is not fair that many of us would have to just sit here and wait for the developers to do something, getting behind with their chars and missing out on a lot of things, while there is a simple temporary solution given, and we won't be able to use it just because some people may abuse this.

People that think of abusing this are in my opinion the selfish a-holes, because their actions will not just crash some people, but takes away the one chance many of us have to get back in game and play their chars.

Changing the game files is bannable, that is why i just used Bubbles fix to be able to log in, take off weap and then i changed the files back to the original (bugged) ones. Changing the files and then using them to make others crash will definitely l be bannable.

BTW is it confirmed that using the fix and still using the weapon is causing others to crash? I was only ingame very briefly with the altered weap before i took it off, but i didnt notice anyone disappearing.

Ill put it this way. Everything to an extent can be abused wrongfully when in the wrong hands.

Easy example.

A flight simulator program.

Sure it might've been made for the intention of training soon to be pilots etc etc.

But in the wrong hands it can teach a terrorist to fly a plane into a building.

It's all about perspective. In my opinion this shouldn't have ever been released even though it was for good intentions, however now that it has, it should be displayed everywhere because its the anti-virus to itself.

I promise you this, the fix in the link above is far superior to the 15% zen the offered me as recompense while i waited. Amazing that bubbles is so much better at customer service. Are they even trying anymore?

pwi needs to fix this, even if we do use the fix that was found we still have no weapon which means we have to spend coin to get a new one then spend even more for sharding and refining when this is not a player issue!
