    If people are really desperate to unequip their weapon so they can log in you can contact me on the forums and I can help out. I can't really release the fix because it might be dangerous to others.

    No need to be so modest. The fix isn't dangerous or anything, it's something pwe would obviously take down if you ever posted it.

    It's just as simple as replacing the model with an older one, fixing the model, and/or making the wep itself use another model.

    Simple as 1, 2, 3.

    Better to trust a well known member of the community such as asterelle and bubbles than to trust PWI even realised the glicth is happening and will patch it soon b:shutup

    wll if u use this, just make sure to remove your weapon right away. It crashes anyone near them. so remove it, use a different weapon untill pwi fixes this issue. With great power comes great responsability.

    I suppose it's to be expected, after all the fix only affects the player who uses it.

    Whether or not you use the r8 recast weapon, please dl my or asty's fix due to this issue.

    Even if I didn't do this, this problem would've only came up sooner or later because it's insanely easy to do.
    I can see people abusing this fix (whether it's mine or their own) and making a bunch of other people crash their clients.
    Might as well make this fix as available to many people as possible.

    it worked! i took it of and put it in my bank and switch the files back
    but still shows up different texture, should i not worry about that for now?
    dont wanna crash people if i didnt change it back right b:surrender

    Yes, I changed it to another model. That is intended since the original model is broken.
    Keep the weapon off until there is a patch that fixes it for everyone.

    The problem... is that the fix can probably be weaponized and is very irresponsible to spread -___-

    With the fix people are able to equip R8r weapon in game. If rendering the weapon in game will cause a client to crash then it will likely happen to others when they see the R8r weapon.

    Imagine the fix being used by someone in TW... it's very likely to cause a lot of problems which is why I don't think it should be posted publicly.

    I didn't realize that when I originally made that post.

    Regardless, I have a very different view on this.

    If it's keep secret, players will have no defense against it.
    If made public, players can prepare themselves against it. Even though this will increase the chances of it happening, but considering that r8 recast wep for psys isn't that highly common, it's not bound to happen a lot. I know not everyone reads the forums, but if it becomes more well known, there can be less instances of it.

    You have to remember we are not the only ones who know how the client works.
    As I said, it would be only a matter of time before someone put the two and two together and do it themselves anyways.

    Except the general population doesn't read the forums. Or know about this problem.

    Well, that would be one way to make it clear to devs that they need to fix their bugs before players have to DIY quick fixes.

    No, no I don't.
    Whether or not people find the fix, it doesn't matter.
    Once people realize that a weapon is causing mass crashes they'll either come looking for a fix or start complaining about it.
    The more complaints about it, the more likely it'll increase the chances of it being fixed by 1%.

    Whether some pm's you or they read it here... They are still getting the information to turn it into a weapon.

    This is a total fail on PWI for not fixing it. No one else's fault but PWI if people use it for a weapon.

    You can't blame pwe for not fixing it, they are not the devs. I wouldn't be surprised if there was no one there that knows how to edit the client, or even make a patch for it.

    All of this falls on wanmei.
    Pwe only has to let them know of the issue. They are the communicators, and they are the distributors. Nothing more, nothing less.
    Wanmei has to first acknowledge that there is an issue.
    They are the ones that have to address the issue.
    They are the ones that have to make the patch with the fix so that it's fixed for everyone in pwi.
    They are the ones that are responsible for giving pwe the patches they need for this game.

    Just remember if it's used during tw, it'll affect both sides, not just the enemy to the player with the bugged wep.

    Really, all that is needed is for faction leaders to persuade their guildies to dl the fix.
    The fix prevents people form being affected by the wep at all.
    It would be ideal if everyone did it, but it won't happen that way.

    so i got a response from pwi today saying the have passed on suggestional fix to the dev and expect a fix should take a few maint or less...

    As I said before. Couple months.
    The biggest issue of PWI is, that they are NOT developers. They cannot do anything with game. I'm telling this for years. They are just nobody only slave of china's dev. I will not play any other MMO with company which cannot change game codes.

    What exactly is the point in you releasing something that crashes everyones game? What objective does that achieve? That's not helping anyone at all and just pisses a lot of people off. It's a very irresponsible thing to do.

    i used it to take my sphere off and put it in my bank then changed files back
