Ummm if you dont care for the game, then why the hell are you bothering to post on its forums? Go play your supposedly new epic game, enjoy that but leave those who enjoy pwi to their own fun.
As for money, your going to probably do the exact same thing on your game as a lot of us do on here, so you really have little to no room to talk.0 -

Knownase, I have given this a little too much thought lately. My answer is yes it will be hard to walk away and I don't even have R9 +12 gear. The hours farming with friends and grinding to get from lvl 70 - 80 on my veno (before BHs, hypers and FF glitches) and the ability to make so many friends from all over the world does make it harder to just walk away 100% from PWI. I have played a few online games, but never made the friends that I have made here. I am hoping that a few of the ones that are still around in PW will move to the game I will be playing when it comes out.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I think this is correct. I was very attached to my cleric. Well, this was before I started playing a game named after dirt/earth. I actually feel like time was wasted playing PWI, if you can actually say you wasted time playing a game? The new game play has balance. My cleric has the skills to actually go toe to toe like it should. Second highest HP pool of all classes actually. No control skills, but good ways to escape. Squadding is fun again. Questing is fun again. I got pk'd by someone named pompom, it was exciting! I really enjoy the social aspects of MMo's. PWI doesn't have that anymore.
I'm sure a day will come when I am bored of the new game. Things get boring after a while.
I log on PWI 2-3x a week now for about 20 mins to talk in faction. To those saying the game isn't dead, it just hasn't hit you yet. I've played PWI since 3 weeks after DW opened.Excuse me , i just threw up in my mouth a little bit .

I feel no attachment to this game anymore. Once this new unmentionable game *cough* Wuild Gars two *cough*, I'll be hopping over there. Now, I know many, many people have said this about every other MMO and end up hoping back within several months .but I am not among them. Although my gear is no where near the epicness of a R9+12 (rocking r8 +3) it won't really be too difficult. For one, I spent little money on here, most of my stuff was merchentd effortlessly by AFK catshopping goods. So I don't feel a financial attachment to this game. Although I have spent a lot of time on here, I simply don't find the joy in the game that I used too. I will admit, I had lots of fun with the game in the past, I'm just moving on.
The reason why it'll be easy to leave though is because of the PWE company that runs it. This game has sooooo much potential to be better but the folks that run it don't care. In a way, it's kind of no going back to fixing this game. I like the thought of working for your stuff and not just shelling out several hundred dollars. I only played 2 MMO's in my life and that has been Roonscaape and PWI. Honestly, I had more fun on RS when it came to PVE'ing and questing. The only thing that drove me here was the pvp but now that server activity has significantly decreased, I gotta dismount this dead horse and find a new one. More likely, I will pop in here once in a while just to see what's new and maybe do a little rpk'ing on my sin for several minutes but nothing more.0 -

I'll add my 2 cents...
Graphics are not everything for a game and judging/comparing games based on graphics is just stupid. They may be eye candy but if they don't have decent gameplay then graphics will do nothing for you. I am not saying PWI has great gameplay, this is a matter of preference. I still go back and play old games with graphics that suck under today's standards but I'm still having fun because It's the gameplay that I love the most.
As for people spending money on this game, it's none of your concern how people choose to use their money. And don't assume I'm some heavy CSer because I said that. You shouldn't judge people based on how much money they spend or where they spend them anyway.
PWI's management is awful, yes. The balance of the game sucks, yes. Everything changed and PWI is not what it used to be. Back in 2008 and early 2009 the game was epic. Yes, yes, yes. I know. I was there. I played through it. If you're not happy anymore just leave. Nobody's holding you here.
People choose to stay because they have friends, factions, still enjoy the game and whatnot. Again, it's none of your concern what keeps people here, why people choose to play this game, why people choose not to try out the new games. Everyone has their own reasons and you are in no position to judge anyone and anything.

Personally I think it's more the social aspect than the financial one that makes it so hard for some people to leave and/or keeping coming back even after trying other (newer) games.
To some people, this game is a very important part of their lives in that they have on-line friends here who probably far out number their actual irl friends. Some may have even met their real life partners through this game. It's not hard to see then why so many stick around even after acknowledging how terribly the game is being run by non-caring management; how many unfixed bugs there are; how imbalanced the classes are, etc etc... none of it really matters because actual game play is secondary to what they are really logging on to PWI for.
Now contrast that with your R9 +12 example. Yes such a person might have epic gear but if they are basically a loner... with a friends list derived more from people befriending them in hopes of being invited to future squads rather than actual friendship... and who basically logs on to do his/her dailies and then is bored out of their mind until TW rolls around... then not even the $5,000 USD they spent to outfit their toon will keep them here once the next epic games roll out.
Of course there are the majority that fall somewhere between the above two extreme examples. And for this middle group (good gear but not greatest and lots of friends but yet don't "live" in their faction)... its not that they don't want to stick around. But for every **** up by our esteemed management... it's just another prod in the direction of the next new shiny game. And if that new game turns out to be just as addictive as PW once was... there is no coming back.
And that's my two cents. b:avoid0 -

PWI is a free-to-play game that was made by an Asian company. There's no way anybody is going to tell me that they didn't see pay-to-win in the future. There was also no prior history to give people the impression that it wouldn't turn into that kind of game.
This other game is different. The company that made it wants everybody to be on an even playing field for PvP. Don't you think allowing people to buy power would sort of ruin that? They aren't dumb. They wanted the same thing for the first game and 7 years later it's still not pay-to-win. I'm pretty confident that it won't ever be an option.

Well for one, I wouldn't have made this game a P2W game. I would have kept active GM's and actually offer a variety of events, not the same'old **** the spew at us today. Mostly though, I would make this game a subscription game because let's face it, they're a company, companies wan't to make money. I would totally play this game if we had to pay a monthly because then they wouldn't be so dependent on Godly CS'ers for money and they could actually focus on making this game better for everyone.
Unfortunately, that isn't how it is and it can never be that way simply because the hole they dug is already too deep. No hope for this game, I give it no more than 2 more years before they shut the servers down. It was fun while it lasted. b:bye0 -

You can try and deny it all you like but it will happen, it doesn't matter if it was made by an Asian company, British company or an American company. 99% of MMORPG games change over an amount of time, they assess the situation with their player base (whether it is high or low) then make decisions based on that, obviously PWI doesn't do this but still. With all the hype about said game you cannot wait to play, it will probably end up that way. If you didn't know by now all gaming companies are falling into the same pattern, they release a product which is not completely finished then slowly they add new content to get people playing again, this also applies to console games with releasing DLC and map packs.
Doesn't matter if right now they want everyone to be on an equal playing field for PVP, new people come in and things change like it did with PWI.
I repeat my earlier post, if you don't like this game, go away. The forums don't need you here moaning, QQ'ing and trying to argue a point to leave a game because YOU think everyone should. Go spend your time away from the computer until said game is out.0 -

PW has released two new titles to compete with new generation games. But maybe some players are more loyal to PWI than they are PW the company. So they arent going to switch to a new title just becuse PW happens to back it.
Maybe the company can design a sequel to PW since Anet is obviously abandoning their first title. Maybe like a PW 2 in the future that allows veteran players to transfer stats and equipment to their alt in the sequel after having completed level cap in the following game.0 -
