Tidal Protection Buffed

Apparently, my faction leader and I have discovered that tidal protection has been buffed a little since pre-expansion. We're not sure if it's been applied to just the two examples we found, but we are sure that these occurrences were not possible before expansion.
Transferred statuses from Quid Pro Quo, the Seeker debuff transfer skill, were unblockable to ANYTHING before expansion. Now the entire move can be blocked by tidal, which results not only in the debuff not going through, but the debuff not leaving the Seeker either.
If anyone else has something to add to this list, please let me know.
Edit: Apparently diminished vigor was blockable before expansion, so it has been removed from the list.

Now, 50% of the time I'm subject to stuff like the idiots who like to tackling slash and demon spark because there's a chance that tidal will completely waste QPQ.

Out of all the skills they could have buffed they just had to pick one of the most (if not the most) overpowered ones b:sweat[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed in the developers if this was intentional.Donate towards my endgame build, please.

Nope. No change. Also, tidal always had a chance to evade purge. The only new benefit of tidal is that it avoids the status effects of the new expansion skills-- even though they can't be purified.0 -

I didn't play a Psy before expansion, so I'm not sure if diminished vigor was blockable or not before. But I am one-hundred percent certain that QPQ was not able to be stopped by tidal before expansion. So it has been changed in one way or another.
Edit: Also, nobody was questioning whether purge was able to be avoided by tidal before expansion. We're just checking to make sure that hasn't changed. I do doubt that they would nerf it, however.Donate towards my endgame build, please.

Not sure about diminished vigor since I've never bothered trying to use it on sins (or had it used against my own sin) so can't say for sure if that's Tidal being buffed or not. I do think it's something that's always been the case, though.0 -

Not sure what all the QQ is about. Its designed to block debuffs, if it wasn't doing it before then they have fixed it. Seems only fair to fix something for the sin when two of their new skills have zero pvp/pve use. Ooo Gunna make you drop DQ no one would ever carry. LOOK OUT! That sin is gunna be able to see your stuff! GASP!! Oh wait, there is something a lot like that already everyone can use called player info...
I'm sure they've tweeked a lot of things without mentioning it though. Devs are notorious for making small changes and forgetting to make note of it.0 -
Sins are so underpowered, they needed a boost. They've been underpowered in pvp and pve for so long I'm happy tidal blocks even more now, tidal was to underpowered. =///Siggy from bellefleurs.

Wow I just leveld a seeker to 100 and was happy about all the tricks that work against tidal. Now that little loophole against sins' ridiculous overpowered **** gets closed as well? Wow f uck you PWI, f uck you so hard. This is the biggest slap in the face that could have been done, powering up the most OP skill of teh most OP class for the lulz. I hope the people who thought of this get beat in the face by every single seeker player out there. This.
Nothing has been changed with Tidal as its now working the way it's supposed to (yeah... sucks that its now working properly on the most OP class in the game but that's what happens sometimes when you fix glitches... they make a bad problem worse).
Quid Pro Quo has without question been tweaked at least a couple of times now for the new expansion. Don't forget that the negative HP debuff status can no longer be transferred either.0 -
I'm just saying that they should've at least made it so that the debuff leaves the Seeker when the move is used, regardless of whether tidal blocks it or not.
Of course, there are ways around this, such as tabbing and transferring to the next nearest target instead, but it's still a pain.Donate towards my endgame build, please.

Question... in the past (or present) when you tried to QPQ a negative debuff onto someone who had AD immunity on them... would you still be purified once QPQ triggered... even if it wasn't possible to transfer the negative debuff on to them ?
I think the answer to this question would go a long way in understanding out how QPQ really is supposed to work, ijs.0 -
What Hexalot proposes is a good way to test it.
If you can't transfer debuffs to a person in AD/IG, then I guess it just doesn't work that way.[SIGPIC]Octavia is best pony[/SIGPIC]

I'm sure they've tweeked a lot of things without mentioning it though. Devs are notorious for making small changes and forgetting to make note of it.
The QQ is because tidal protection is already a very overpowered skill. Part of why its so overpowered is because it rather effectively prevents other classes from kiting or using any kind of control skill...while the sin can use every control skill possible.
Also, sins are overpowered already. They do have nearly every advantage. (Level 10 Knife throw has further range than any of my attacks that are leveled to sage for example. Stuns, teles, death resistance, true antistun, stealth, 2 speed skills, permaspark...)
Also, some people do carry DQ. (I'm not saying that DQ dropping items is a good skill or anything), but it will annoy anyone that is trying to grind...to have a sin kill them, and get a cut of that. I hate when people steal spiders from me when I'm grinding them for the items, so the move will still annoy people.
Player info does not show a persons inventory like investigate does. Player info shows a persons current gear/fashion. Investigate allows them to see what you have. In all honesty, I HATE the concept of this move, as I feel that its a violation of ones privacy. No one should be allowed to know what I have in store. That's my concern, and mines alone.
You are right that sins didn't get any OP skills, or any truly useful skills, but in honesty, they didn't need any. They're still OP even now. My sin, that doesn't even have her 3rd spark yet can gain chi quicker than my level 100 celestial sage cleric. Something is very wrong with that picture.
That said, the QQ is because sins are OP, and tidal is OP, and with the new update, it makes both even more OP. Like I stated earlier, it prevents a lot of classes from kiting...and thus prevents a lot of other classes from even standing a chance. The element of surprise + the element to resist surprises = sins having a real advantage.
Note: I'm a pve cleric, so this doesn't really affect me. I just see where the others are coming from. b:laugh

OMG!
66% tidal gonna be even more useful than I thought b:cute
Also, I think its fair... Seekers has a monstrous defense, monster defLvls and hit a quite hard on sins. Its fair enough.
Now, stop QQing.0 -

How very typical, coming from an assassin.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Badge of courage, find it use it love it....as a seeker trying to defend against tackling slash solely with qpq is impossible, tackling slash has 15 sec cd, while sage qpq cd is 45 sec, you really do need something else anyways.0
