nvm. i don't need data points, i extracted the real % data (integral parts) from elementclient ;)

even when i think it's ridiculous to use rational formulas with a border value, i have to admit your formulas are correct (nice lucky hit)

no idea why the developers choose linear functions for atk/def level and rationals for slay/ward level...

you can find the integral values compared to your formular values here

I don't see why lazy people feel the need to criticize other people's results while doing no testing of their own.

P.S. i don't wanna waste my time in-game for such things, not everyone is a bored r9
honestly i wonder why i waste time discussing and extracting data from elementclient for calculations that nobody is interested in and which are totally useless, at least it took me just 30 minutes...

I'm fairly certain it had nothing to do with luck and everything to do with SCIENCE.

The integer %-values are just used when displaying the % in your character info (in the tooltip when you hover over the value).

When the damage is actually calculated it uses the exact formula.

Ehh, I think he was just using cheat-engine or something to change the value on his client and seeing what the tooltip said his current % was. That only gives 2 decimal points of precision though which would still make it difficult to find the real formula. Using in-game tests you can easily measure the effect to 5 decimal points of precision which is 1,000 times more accurate.

For the warding level test I used a Boulder Walker in Jungle Ruins which has a 999999 damage punch.

i know that the integral parts are not used for calculation, but these values are good enough to detect the border value and to confirm your formular

anyway even if the formula is unveiled who cares it's pretty useless and don't change anything
    i'm out of this thread

So berated the method, dedicated time to attempting to prove it wrong or inefficient, complained about how you don't have time to dedicate to precision, and now you leave?

At least you know when to call it quits.

Well isn't that how most science is proven? By someone who believes otherwise trying to disprove the theory, only to further prove what they were trying to disprove? It's human nature to be a little disgruntled about being wrong when you were certain you were correct, but overall I'd say he handled himself in a much more mature manner than most do on here.

Solving the equations is math. Choosing a model that fits the data is science, choosing/massaging the data to fit the model is junk science.

I'm going to assume you meant to say flat instead of plate. Yes these are two examples of theories that were disproved. Although not everything turns out in such a manner.

Ehh if you look at the way other damage effects are calculated in the game you can see that it only uses basic math of addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. This is like 3rd grade math. This means you can assume there won't be any trig functions or square roots.

I didn't really think it needed this much of a discussion especially when I gave my method and the spreadsheet I used in the first post on the subject. Anyone can cast a genie skill like Bramble Rage to confirm the result for slaying level. For Warding Level just get killed by the hands in TT / cube mob / jungle ruins mob and write down how much damage you take before and after.

It was less of a treatise on his behaviour and more of a subtle attempt at sarcasm. I retrospect, my levity was not that obvious.

G15 - You can get this gear from your order. The full set is unlocked after obtaining 5,000 prestige. This gear comes with random stats that you can reroll by buying reroll mats with influence. The quality of the random adds is pretty high, it's on par with Nirvana G15 but don't expect to see any -interval anywhere. All of the weapons come with +60 Slaying Level.

Actually, there's a -.05 interval bonus for having all 5 pieces of either heavy or light armor (-3% channel for arcane) according to pwdatabase.

Which, if you went this route, would leave only tome, cape and ornaments (and weapon, if you didn't use the Morai weapon) as sources of additional interval.
