Anyway back on topic i have a few problems with how PWI is running this tournament:

    1. They put a PvE element into the selection process making it so people have to go for the PvE classes in order to goto China, where they will have to compete agenst people who chose there classes purly for PvP.

    2. Archers with purge on there bows are powerful while those without have a harder time getting through fully buffed targets, now is there on option to actully use a purge bow in China? what are the builds? would a Wizard be better? does a Wizard have to use an elemental neck and belt? ...does an Archer have to use an Evasion neck and belt?

    3. Is there such a thing as 5 APS in the China tournament? if not Assassins are not going to be all that useful over there. What about Nixes? if a Venomancer goes what on earth does she get as a pet?

I foresee an Embarrassing display in China all due to PWI who has told us nothing dispite all the time they had to prepare, at lest everyone run with team PvP classes in mind when you make your groups if i find out that a purely PvE oriantated team wins and then has to compete in PvP vs China, I would suggest to them to spend a little to much time getting ready and get disqualified rather then Embarrass PWI further by attempting to compete.

I have to agree with Zaz; they're not giving us a whole lot of information. It's nothing google translate can't solve; tippy-toe over to their forum and press the translate button for a mutilated version of what's going on...you'll get a somewhat remotely kind of sort of vague idea. I'm sure they're either in panic mode, or laughing their arses off.

    >.> Oko, why aren't you in the kitchen making me my IG sammitch? I need those IG's, Oko...
They made fun of me because I wasn't a R8 Psychic...and then came third cast. It's not funny anymore.

Even if they limit everyone to having the same gear, a nix isn't a piece of gear, so us venos should still have our nixes, shouldn't be a problem there.
I seriously wonder: people who don't RPK, if you play the board game "Sorry!" and you roll the dice so that you land on an opponents piece and send it back to the beginning, do you sincerely apologize and ask everyone if you can have a do-over roll so you can give your victim another chance? It's a god damn game..

Copy-paste of my posts from the Kylin forums:
    Desiree wrote:
o Each team can have at most 1 of the following classes: Blademaster, Barbarian, Assassin, and Psychic
o Each team can have at most 2 of the following classes: Wizard, Venomancer, Archer, Cleric, Seeker, and Mystic
Based on what I've seen going on in the PW-CN tournaments, I'd say the ideal class composition is as follows:
1 - BM (sage axe build)
2 - Cleric (sage tank build, high channeling for Wellspring)
3 - Veno (demon purge, tank build)
4 - Archer (pure dex whichever, high crit rate)
5 - Archer (pure dex whichever, high crit rate)
6 - Wizard (pure mag, high channeling
7 - Barb (demon, tank build for perdition) - alternative

    These are my opinions/advice:
These tournaments are focus-based. Targets are best taken down one-by-one. Remember that in the final tournament, everyone has standardized gear, so the easiest way of killing an opponent is focus firing (2-3 v 1).
All genies should be build for maximizing AD time and all members should be coordinated to stay within range of each other for AD.
BM - You Roar on cooldown constantly, hold your Heaven's Flame only after you've made sure your opponents have AD on cooldown (otherwise it will be wasted). Do not even thing about gearing for fists as you will be downed immediately (in the server tournament) and its standardized gear (in the overall).
Cleric - You keep yourself alive as long as you can by spamming Wellspring on yourself and others when you can. With the standardized gear, you'll be pretty tanky, but Ironheart is useless as these fights are about spike damage (so focused targets will be downed before the heal-over-time kicks in).
Veno - You have a nix, but its useless. You are absolutely necessary for your purge. Demon > sage due to the lower cooldown (targets will never stand close enough together to be AoE purged). Other than purge, your role is to stay alive and Parasitic Nova if you can with the BM's Heaven's Flame. I highly doubt the standardized gear will include Spirit Blackhole and they should be plenty strong enough to prevent anyone from dying except purged and under focus fire.
Archer - You are the focus DDs and keep the opponent's veno and cleric occupied until your team's target has been purged. Once the target has been purged, you focus fire.
Wizard - You are also a focus DD, but also a decent CC. All crowd-control skills (Mountain Siege, Soporific Whisper, Force of Will) are very important to be used on the opponent's veno and BM.
Barb - You are the distraction and buffer. Open up with a turtle and go straight for the cleric to keep him/her occupied the entire fight. Devour the target, always stay in tiger form. You will mostly be ignored til the end, but if you can coordinate chain ADs with your team, you could sneak in a Perdition and wipe out the veno/wizard very early on (giving your team a big advantage).
Psychic - You can replace wizards, but I honestly don't know enough about the class to compare its CC and DD capabilities.
Sin - You are useless. The standardized gear will probably not include interval and all opponents will have AD genies. The moment you come out, you're an easy kill. The most utility you have would be stunlocking the veno, but I still don't think your utility is as high as the other classes.
Mystic - Only good for the fast heals, but in the end, can't replace clerics due to lack of buffs. Not good for using up a spot in a 6v6
Seeker - I see no use of these in 6v6 fights, sorry ; /

Jon, choose wisely. Keep in mind the different stages of the tournament (initial stage uses your own gear, but the final tournament uses standardized gear).

    ~Keripo
    Desiree wrote:
Longknife, you're treating this like open/mass PvP. Its different - this is closed PvP with 6v6, both sides ready, limited area but enough space to move around freely.

From what I can tell, there'll be potentially three stages:

    1) In-server PvP:
Teams from the "top" factions send 7 representatives to fight in a free-for-all mass tournament. Last person standing will have their team win this round. In this case, the strategy is mass PvP. There unfortunately is also the factor of alliances. Pretty much imagine this as the weekly PvP tournaments.
For this stage, the best team composition would be an AoE setup (e.g. BM+cleric+wizard+archer+barb+DD)

    2) Cross-PWI PvE:
The winning teams from each server all participate in individual boss fights. The team with the winning time will be the representative team for all of PWI.
For this stage, the best team composition would be a pure PvE DD setup (e.g. BM+cleric+archer+veno+sin+DD)

    3) International PvP:
Winning PvE teams from each nation-server-group will participate in a round-robin PvP tournament. May be double-round-robin or some other tournament style, haven't found details. All participants will be using standardized gear (probably customized for this tournament, or full 9jun)
For this stage, the best team composition would be what I described earlier.

    Things to note:
    - Stage 1 uses your own personal gear; however, I would argue that it will be ENTIRELY political as, being a free-for-all, the result will depend more on alliances than skill.
    - Stage 2 will be the team with the fist BM, interval sin, and veno that has armour break proc
    - Stage 3 will be stupid due to 1) the significant impact of lag, and 2) all competitors were selected purely on their PvE capabilities (aka taking down a boss with their own gear), which is absolutely not representative of their PvP capabilities.

    Class notes:
BM and cleric are musts. Archers and wizards (and I guess psychics) fit all three stages. Barbs are really only good for the buffs. Venos are a must for Stage 2 (the team that gets an armour break proc wins) and 3 (purge will be necessary with standardized high end gear), but not 1. Sins are only useful for Stage 2, but may help win Stage 1. Seekers and mystics aren't really of any use for any of the stages.

    ~Keripo

The ideal OVERALL squad would be
    1) 5aps sage BM (fist and axe)
    2) sage cleric (tank build)
    3) demon veno (tank build)
    4) demon barb (4aps)
    5) demon archer (pure dex)
    6) demon archer (pure dex)
    7) sage wizard (pure mag)

For BM, I only know one sage fist BM who can get close to maintaining 5aps. Otherwise, it'll have to be a demon BM with good axe skills (for stage 1 and 3). For cleric, any high-channeling, tank-build sage cleric will do, and there's a few of them. The demon barb should be 4aps for Stage 2, and I think there's a handful of those nowadays. The demon veno should be tank build, and I personally know no other tank-build demon veno on the server apart from myself (but my gear sucks like ****). There are plenty of demon archers with highly refined bows, so that's not a problem. Same with sage wizard.

Considering Kylin's lack of well-geared players who are actually interested in the tournament, I think we'll be passing this opportunity. Either way, I still find the tournament quite silly. The winner of stage 1 will be based off cash shopping and politics, while the winner of stage 2 will be based off of PvE APS. The final team that goes to the international stage 3 will in no way represent PWI's best PvPers.

Desiree all those builds are impossible. frankie said that the people who do go on to face off in China will be using "normal gear" or something along those lines. He didn't even specify what gear. So pretty much the cash shoppers are going to win the spots to face off in China. They then will have to rely on skill and fail miserably.

By the looks of the vids from the chinese/russian tourneys. It's r9 +12 100 lp geni; not sure which ornaments/helms couldn't translate names.

As far as I understand you won't have any of your items with you during the Internationals, so having dual/x3 weaps for bm isn't an option...

For pwi boss fight it might work, except a sage veno with soul degen + demon HF would seem to be better.

Demon Heaven's Flame would be better, but Sage Soul Degen isn't so much when archer's have Blood Vow (18% vs 20%), Demon Ironwood Scarab has a chance of Armour Break procing (Sage Ironwood Scarab < Devour anyway), and Demon Amplify Damage nets more DPS in the long run.

Not having equal gear matches on our side actually hurts our chance in China, badly. Our winners will be the ones with best gears instead of skills. The ones who got use to fighting with superior gears against the rest are at a disadvantage, since they are so used to killing others easily, they haven't had to use good timing or skills. If the team we send won by gears instead of skills, they are in a rude awakening once they fight in China, using the same gears, against people they can't just 2 shot.
