Bind Your R9 Before!

Did you realize that you can sell you R9 gear to an NPC? Now of course, you'd never do that on purpose, but I'm sure at least some of you have sold something by accident. However, if you do that to your R9 gear, you are completely hosed, as there's NO WAY TO REPLACE IT, even if you're willing to spend the resources to do so.

Unlike all other Rank gear, you can't get another piece of R9 gear from the NPC, the quest is simply not available. Oh, and don't think you can go to support and get assistance from what is definitely an implementation problem: Here's the wonderful response from Customer [un]Support:

So, before you fall victim to an unrecoverable accidental mistake, BIND YOUR R9. I never thought to bind it as it can't be traded or dropped; but, I never considered I might accidentally sell it and not even realize what had happened. To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure that's what happened, but I can't think of any other way that I'd have a L11 **** mob drop arms equipped and no R9 arms anywhere on the character...

    can and will are 2 different things. GMs have the power in game to do just about anything they wanted to do, they have control over just about anything in this game.. but policies within the company may handicap what they are "allowed" to do.

    I can understand not wanting to give him another for free, but if he's willing to pay for it, why not? The option isn't there anymore.

    I think the problem is handling it without taking real money directly from a player (bypassing the system), but still making sure to make a sale/profit. The only thing you can do is wait for china to implement the right fixes.

    Ouch, sorry to hear that dude and thanks for warning everyone else.

    Keep bothering them though, I say. I'm sure you paid plenty for those and I doubt it's so incredibly difficult for them to at least spawn you a clean +0 unsocketed pair. At least get them to tell you if you truly did sell it; like you said, you don't know where they went so it very well could've been some outrageous glitch.

    You still lose the 20 attack lvl set bonus from full R9 set

    they absolutely can return the piece of gear to you, the reason you can only get 1 set of rank 9 is because it isnt really rank gear, its a quest reward from a unique quest, someone at PWI can easily see if you have completed the quest and gotten the quest reward, its the reason you cant take the quest again. they have replaced rank 9 gear in the past, i forgot the thread, but someone NPC'd their r9 chest, and it was replaced, without refines and gems of course.

    the customer service specialist who sent you that response is blowing smoke up your skirt.

    I find it a fault of respect whit who spend money in the game, that peoples pay for the game evolution, at least clean sleeves should be returned.
    And i agree that the person from support was too lazy to find a solution.

    AND what the hell are they planning whit the medals, people waste money on chip packs and now they take out the way to get medals, at last put this back on sale FAST or many peoples gonna rage quit cuz theres summer tokens laying in bank and u guys are delaying us from playing, for sure territory reward medal amount isnt enough.

    Whereas I NPC'd a sorceresses soul and they absolutely refused to give it back to me. Support is extremely inconsistent in this game and you just have to pray to be lucky enough to get a GM that IS willing to give your item back. b:angry

    Kind of a different situation...
    I would imagine the only reason they assist with things like this is because you can't replace it by yourself.

    I really wonder how many people actually NPC'd one of those mats, probably 90% of the server. I only done it twice though.

    Thanks for warning about R9, i could easily do that mistake if i'm really tired :/

    I NPC'd a tsuchun's dark soul and sent a ticket. The response was basically "sucks to be you".

    At the same time, someone in our guild NPC'd 9 minister's stones. He sent a ticket and "reminded them of how much cash he's spent" and a few days later got them back.

    Well there is a way to replace it.
    Make another toon of the same class on the same account.
    Level it to 101 and get the piece again.
    Use the account stash.

    The lesson to be learnt is simple.

    1. Check what you're selling before you sell it.

    2. You get a chance to say YES or NO before selling anything. Make sure you don't CLICK YES until you're sure

    2a. Don't just go by the ICONS in the game because quite a few of them look the same / re-used icons cause the art department ran out of ideas.

    3. Suppose everyone has a stupid moment once in a while.
    Time won't wake/make you wiser, but it will definitely wound you.

    I've NPC'd a sorceress soul before and placed the blame entirely on the game's fault for giving the item an identical visual appearance to something common. I argued that the game was inherently flawed and confusion is guaranteed to arise when things appear visually identical. If they are unwilling to put in effort to give it a different icon then they should expect to have to replace it occasionally when mistakes happen. They replaced it for me next maintenance.

    If I were you I'd try to place as much blame as possible on flaws in the game....
    - how come there is no confirmation when selling items to an NPC?
    - how come R9 gears can be sold at all if they can't be replaced?

    I'm not sure if you are a major cash shopper (though I hear you have the gear of one), but if you are you can remind them of how much real money you spent on the item and that it is in their interest to keep you satisfied with the purchase.

    Never admit any kind of fault. They are certainly capable of replacing the item and are playing hard to get for some stupid reason. Hold them to the fire until they relent. Good luck.
