DQ Rewards (resolved) / Facebook Connect Issue (resolved)

Hey guys,

We are currently having an issue with the DQ rewards (Dragon Points) page as well as with the Facebook Connect tool.

We're working on them right now, but it may take a bit of time to get them back up and running. Just know that we're doing everything we can to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

One bit of good news is that your account will continue to accumulate Dragon Points as you vendor DQ items, so don't worry about that. You'll be able to spend them once we get the page back up.

Thank you, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Update: The Dragon Points page is now functional! Let me know if you continue to experience problems with it. We are still working on Facebook Connect and we'll let you know when we have an update.
Thanks all.

Update2 (3-15-11): Hey everyone, it looks like the DQ system is having technical difficulties again, and that they returned upon the Daylight Savings server restarts. We're working on the issue right now, and thank you for your patience.

Update3 (3-16-11): Still working on the two; DQ is closer to release than Facebook Connect, and we'll have another update by the end of the day (aka 7pm pst). BTW if you guys want, you can add me on Facebook-- search Frankie Rae and look for my pic :)

Update4 (3-16-11): DQ Rewards page is back up and functional!

Facebook Connect is still being worked on, and there is a good chance it'll be up by tomorrow :)

Thanks for your patience here guys.

Update5 (3-18-11): Facebook Connect is back up since yesterday evening!

Lingering issues, possible solutions:

Just tried DQ System myself again, the item was sent without a problem. As of right now, I've heard of three different issues that seem to be occurring to certain players when attempting to use the DQ system:

1) You pick your character and server, choose your item, click Send, click Continue, and
the page just resets with nothing having been sent. No points have been consumed.

Possible Solutions: Clear cache and cookies, try a different browser, keep trying to send the item. Most players eventually get through (myself included after about 4-5 tries).

2) You pick your character and server, and the Send button does not appear at all next to any of the rewards.

Solution for this: The buttons are still there, just invisible. Click where they should be and you'll get the same "Are you sure you want to buy this?" prompt. Other solution: Re-start your browser, the page should load completely and correctly.

3) You get to the page, but the pull-down menus to select your server/character are completely non-functional.

Possible solution: Clear cache cookies, restart browser, try different browser.

Are you guys running into these? Are you running into a different issue? Have you found a solution that I've not posted here? Let us know.

You guys really should stop QQing all the time. Those guys help you and fix problems. It's normal that they are not going solve the problems of everyone. If you don't like the game with the problems like rubberbanding or lag, then quit and go play some stupid offline game or go play Wow or something. But don't blame the Gm, developpers, or whatever, ... all the time.

See now I disagree with you. As paying customers we have every right to complain when things don't work properly. If Devs/Gms/Whoever don't fix broken things when we QQ what are we paying for?

That said I understand mistakes are made and if fixed in a timely matter I won't complain too much. But the things you brought up...Rubberbanding and lag...those are serious issues. Issues that WERE FIXED at one point when Rising Tide came out. Issues that came back 3-6 months later. Issues that are still not resolved 1 year later. We have every right to complain about that.

    Mm...counter-argument:

You don't have to pay for the game, and there were bugs and such much before this, so...yeah, you chose to pay a free-to-play game that is bugged. So I dunno...You can complain all you want, but you can't really expect anything to be done specifically because you're a "paying customer"...

This is a F2P game with a cash shop mall. If you buy from said mall you are a paying customer. It's really basic stuff...if there weren't paying customers in this game it would not exist because there would be no point in developing it. Have you guys ever gone shopping in real life or are you still sucking your mommy's ****?

You can't be a "paying customer" since you don't have a subscription to pay and you don't have a contract with PWI. Whether you like it or not they don't owe you anything at all. About the boutique noone is forcing you to use it.

    +1

Let me make sure I'm reading the previous post correctly. I pay PWI real $ for cash shop items yet I'm not a paying customer. Am I giving money to a charity? You mean I can deduct this from my taxes? PWI is a not-for profit right? /sarcasm off

I hate to slap you with the stone cold truth; without money generated from cash shop there would be no Genesis, there would be no Raging Tide, there would be so little new content as to be ridiculous. You woud be lucky to even have a means to send a bug report or get tech support. Me and any other person who has given a nickel of real $ to PWI has every right to complain about bugs and the people who truly are F2P can say TY to those who DO spend real $ so that PWI has the resources to fix bugs and create new material.

LOL tell me I'm not a "paying customer" because the game is F2P. You can b:kiss my ...

And just to strengthen the above paying customer's case, the definition of paying customer is someone who hands over money for goods that are fit for purpose. If he goes to the boutique and buys stuff to use in game, he is a paying customer. If he can't then use those goods because of game bugs, they then become UNfit for purpose and as a paying customer, he has every right to complain, or even demand his money back(but the money back part would only happen in the real world, we know that).

So, in short, he has every right to complain. If you don't like his complaints, you (as a player) have every right NOT to read them.

Like I already said the Boutique is totally optional. If you decide to use it then you'll get what you paid for. If there's a problem with the transaction make a ticket and they'll look into it so you can get your item. But that's it, that doesn't give you the right to expect anything else from this company.
You have to realize/understand what kind of game you're playing. You download/install it for FREE, you create your account and start playing for FREE, you can log your alts whenever you want and play as long as you want for FREE. This is the total opposite of a game you would have to pay for, yet you seem to expect the same customer service? You're not even a customer since either you never gave them any money or you used the Boutique and you already got your item.

We aren't PWE's customers? PWE's support section disagrees with you. I seem to recall the word "customer" being mentioned there...now if they didn't consider us customers, why in the world would they offer their customer support services to us?b:bye

Looks like his point does stand. If it weren't for "paying customers" their servers would not be live right now, a lot of their games would not be live right now, and we would be seriously lacking in content. Just because PWE uses the business model of making this game free to play does not negate the fact that it has paying customers.

A store does business with its customers by allowing them to buy from their store. PWE is doing business with it players by allowing them to buy from their store, with the added bonus of the servers staying live. If a store stops receiving customers, it goes out of business. If PWE no longer has any players, they also go out business. I'm hardly seeing how PWE's games being free to play and download means that the players aren't customers. PWE will provide a service as long as they pull in enough money from their players.

That is not what we were talking about at all...learn to read.

The arguement was over the fact that certain individuals did not believe that buying an item in game made you a "paying customer". It has nothing to do with getting our names read.

I don't know if this is the same issue (yes I have sent a ticket) but earlier I couldn't sign in (yes I wanted to take advantage of the pack sale) so I rebooted my laptop (it has been on for a couple of days) restarted and yes I can log in (hence this post) but still cannot top up my gold.... just wondering if this is the same/similar issue?

It appears the new web site upgrade wasn;t properly bug tested (btw it looks great, be even greater if it could work :P)
