    whats your point... the context where "****" was used (in that post) was ment as an insult. i am willing to bet half of the time the word is used... its used as an insult. you really need to find something better to do with your time then to nit pick at everything damn thing.

    I'm not homophobic (hi, I'm bi), but I know people frequently use the word "****" (or "gey/ghey/etc") as an insult. And if Grim isn't really ****, then the OP at the very least lied, which is an insult, calling someone something he's not. He could have called Grim a stinky fish, and the insult would still be there. It's about the lie, not about homophobia. Jeezus.

    And why else would someone like that call another person "****" but to insult them, when the insulted person is not ****? He obviously meant it as an insult, so it should be taken as such.

    The OP was an explicit statement of opinion. I saw no attempted insult in that.

    If the OP had written, " Grim is a Ferrari" or, "Grim is a human" would it have been interpreted as an insult?

    I'm convinced that the response belies an implicit homophobia.

    Anyway, it was an insult. I could comment how racist that post was (calling someone **** and all) but it would be a stupid idea.

    If I call someone a rock, it's not insulting if I don't say anything else. But if it is used as an insult in common language, it is an insult when not specifying you are meaning something else.

    Grim is a human, how could that be an insult. He is not, however, a Ferrari, but that is in inanimate object. Though, if he was a puke-green Ferrari, yeah, that could be taken as an insult. No one likes puke-green. He is also not homosexual, as far as any of us know, and stating that he is, is an insult, since a great number of people seem to think **** (as a state of being) are offensive, for some reason. Doesn't mean Grim is being homophobic, but it does mean that the OP was being homophobic by using the word **** as an insult.

    Why are we even talking about this? Grasping at straws, aren't you.

    I think that the OP did intend to insult. Sure it depends on how you interpret **** in that context, but it seems pretty obvious what the OP's intentions were.

    What I take issue with is how BOTH moderators responded. I never had any hope for Grim, but my last ounce of respect for ChaoticShelly just went out the window.

    Sorry, I come from a country where there are mass numbers of a certain religion, most of whom would take deep offense to a person being homosexual. Pretty sure they don't hate rocks or cars, though. Nor do they use "you're a Ferrari" as an insult like they use "you're ****".

    If you call someone ****, it is thought to be an insult. Call someone **** in the street and they'll insult you back. Call someone a ferrari and they'll think you are a foreigner with bad English or think you are just plain stupid. It's not what you or I think, it's what people think.

    If someone said "you're a Honda" I'd probably think the person is mentally challenged. If some stranger said "you're ****" out of the blue, I think most of the straight male population would feel at least a little bit insulted. Go try it on the street to random strangers and report back your findings. Tell us if they took it as an insult or not.

    I call dibs on being called a Maserati as an insult. ^_^

    On topic, I'm not entirely sure if being called a ****, being a lie is the insulting part. Afterall, Grim could be **** and it'd still be seen as an insult afterall. All it would do at that point would allow Grim to shoot it back with "Yeah, so?" afterall.

    No, calling someone **** is insulting because of the negative burden the term carries from history. Negative burden is the reason why calling people "******s" is seen as so offensive today, or "*******". It doesn't matter if it's true or not. It does matter however on the intent in which it is said.

    Edit: See, PWI won't even allow me to mention the words in a legit context. That's what negative burden brings.

    Sorry, but there have been studies that have showed that the largest sexuality is bisexuals, not straight. So by that sense I'd say that everyone is bisexual, until proven otherwise.
