Ultimately it comes do to this:

1. There are far, far more players eligible for the anniversary mount this year than there were last year, simply due to more players on our servers over the past year. Some of them would request transfers.

2. Everyone who got a mount last year got a second one this year (something that we didn't have to do, since there was already a 2-year reward in place), and they most likely got it on the same character. They would need a transfer.

3. Add to this the fact that due to the overwhelmed Anni Rewards page, many players got multiple mounts this year. They would all be requesting transfers.

All of this adds up to weeks and/or months of mount transferring work for the Customer Service team when they need to be dealing with far more important issues like **** accounts, player harassment, player scam reports, bank password resets, etc..

I realize that some of you are disappointed with our decision in this matter, but I hope that this post helps to show our logic in making it.

lol.. some folk just don't get it so i won't bother reiterating after this.

1. you want to use the mount elsewhere. pay up. if it takes a year to earn the money it takes a year. if something is worth having it is worth waiting for.

2. you can still fully use the mount on the character on which it is currently held. YOU ARE CHOOSING NOT TO! This is pointless QQ.

And I know how fast that money can go. But you can easily stave off buying the latest, greatest fash/aviation/mount/whatever for at least a month to buy the stone, can't you?

This year we sent out mounts to the highest level character on each server, as opposed to last year when it just went to the highest level character on one server. Hopefully vets who play on multiple servers were happy with this choice.

I'm a bit confused by your first sentence. I did join then, and I do have a mount now. Also, my highest IS my most active, but that's not true for everyone. Especially since the expansion and people moving over to Sins and Psys but have been unable to get them up to level with their other highest.

I never suggestion it would be for fashion, etc. Sometimes the cost of repairs and the game itself can stop you from saving.

Ok, let's look at it this way. The company is taking something of a hit by giving away this mount for two reasons; 1) Some people (like me) will no longer invest on a CS mount. Even if you were to get a second hand mount from another player, by contributing to demand you're providing an incentive for people who will be using gold to get theirs, as resale value does factor into buying such relatively expensive items. Moreover, they're effectively collapsing the market for one particular mount (Hell Hound) which in my server has gone down at least a couple of mil in value since anni mounts were anounced. This is without getting into how this will affect their finances from the point of view of alts being a huge market on their own, as now people already in possesion of an active account stash or playing on multiple servers will have less of a reason to acquire new mounts. 2) There's a cost (minimal as it may seem) associated with such events, someone had to set up the delivery system, and even were they to refuse manually changing mounts from one char to another their ticketing system will likely be flooded, which means they must now incur costs in either overtime or in oportunity, as customers with unrelated issues may be lost due to delayed service.

Of course PWI is a bussiness venture, and such investments are made on the theory they will be repaid by encouraging repeat bussiness from satisfied customers. Not everyone will be happy, but you're basically asking the company to divert further resources. It's not that they didn't try to foresee that issues would arise, they actually made sure to send a mount to every server you have made a char on. People with alts across multiple servers are really the great winners here. Oh, but it just so happens players with multiple chars on one server must nerdrage over this...

So, just as with any other company offering some incentive to long time consumers, you should realize there are eligibility rules involved. Are you seriously asking GMs to work free overtime? Would you do it? There are likely customers that not a few hours after requesting a mount be moved would try to cancel as, having had time to think about it, they might realize that now they "feel" more like playing their higher level alt...

So, look at it this way, the gift was meant for your higher level alt on each server. Is there something you can do about it? Yes, you can get an account stash which will come in handy anyway if you like playing with multiple alts. Oh, but you want it for your low level future pwning 5.0 aps Sin for which you have already gotten a pure black outfit? Tough luck. How about the GMs give you an extra mount for chars you may feel like making someday? Seriously, freaking grow up...

My fault on the first sentence. I read it as "someone who just joined a month ago."

If people have been playing for that long of a time, they should not have problems getting that 6m should they choose to.

I do understand where Frankie is coming from given the amount of customer service the GMs deal with. There is just simply no way they would be able to keep up with the volume of tickets requesting transfers as they did last year. For the veterans who have been playing 2+ years and received 2 mounts, it's just a simple drag, drop and sell to get rid of their extra mount.

I like the functionality similar to Jones's Blessings where players can choose their character to mail their mount to. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind why this wasn't done, but it's definitely a lessons-learned that I'm sure they'll take into account for the future.

But I want to restate what I've said once before in that, while there may be so many more people who get a mount this year, its also very likely that many of them have an account stash stone, so for those people its not necessary to switch them over. I don't know all of the numbers and everything and I don't think it would be particularly nice to throw that much work on you guys on top of everything, its is, however, still very disappointing that those people who have not bought one have no choice but to do so this year, while everyone last year was lucky to get the service simply because the stones didn't exist. I'm glad you've read and heard my feelings on this matter and I'm glad that it seems like you take it to heart. I'm sad for all of those people who don't have much choice in the matter now, but on a business perspective I understand why you are doing what you are doing. I'm just sorry it comes at the cost it does to some of your valued players.

it takes like 2 months top to get 100, you knew from last year anniversary that highest lvl get those gifts. if you really wanted on your most played char go lvl before qqing. lesson for next year

oh i feel hurt and teased =P I feel bullied, and I'm not afraid to say it. But from now on I think my money would be much better spent elsewhere. If they hadn't done this I probably would of bought an account stash for the convenience but I'm not going to be giving my money to a company that clearly doesnt care about its customers.

I'm just lucky enough to have had a backup for if they did do something like this.

Who are you speaking to? Maybe it takes you 2 months, but not everyone plays 24/7 and/or uses hypers or oracles. As for me, I am a very casual player and forgive me for sucking at the game, but its taken me two years to reach 86. Sorry for being a noob. And as for if you ARE talking to me, I've said multiple times now that its not an issue for me. I HAVE an account stash stone. I've been standing up for those who don't.

And noone knew what they were going to do for this anniversary. Noone knew they were going to give those mounts again.

maybe my ava is a 7X but I joined in 2008 too, I've played this game for a long-time.
And for the record, how can you even judge by level anymore? if somebody wanted to they could be your level in a couple of months. So yah juding by level makes no sense.
I'll note however that I prefer to level slowly and enjoy the game and the company and helping people when i can - levelling has never been a big deal to me, though I have lots of chars ^^

And another thing, whether it was $20 or $1000 it wouldnt hurt them - but its a statement - that to me PWI are not worthy of receiving my money.

Remember Last year PWI? I recieved my mount on a lowbie Character before, and you guys transferred it to me to my other character for FREE!

Sure it only took about 2 weeks because of all the players requesting a transfer, but that was fine with me. So where are you guys at?

Oh and i'm still wondering where my '08 fashion is at. You know, the one where you have to buy 14 dyes in order to dye it since they all come in different colors?

They didn't give them out specifically to sell account stash stones. They just gave them out.

Since then Account Stash, which was something many people actually WANT put in the game has been implemented, they say if you want to use it on a character other than your main, you can Account Stash it.

Then you will be getting one gift only.

Sounds simple to me especially when they took the time to make the page to give us the gift anyways.

I would bet they would not have had all these issues as well with people not getting gifts as well.

I have opened the clothes on my Wiz on HT and she got 2 out of the 3 colours the same. So, so close. Ah well.

PWE is a business, ok it is entertainment but it is still a business. They have celebrated their anniversary by providing gifts to the highest level character on players accounts on each server - the logic would seem that the highest level toon is their most active.
