This was after a little fight we got into with Def and Shirkahn Miire had gone into pk mode for jokes and ended up being ambushed. xD So we came to fight. Rawr (My squishy self got poked so many times ;_; ...saggy didnt die at all tho <)

Long story short, I REALLY missed the sort of all-out pking that went on back then..when Ga's were chump change and picking a fight and having it turn into a huge war was easy. b:sad

Momento - Heavens Tear

Generation 1: The "old" players that have been in the game since the beginning and had to grind (or zhen & fish) for their current levels and rank/gear. They are the ones who got to experience PWI before it became cash shopped based to survive. You know this game since:

6 classes - 2 human, 2 untamed, 2 elven
Gold was in the 100k price range and when it hit 200k you'd shout at the GMs
Zhenning & fishing was the way to level without quests
PKing amongst factions still existed due to low cost of charms & guardian scrolls
Getting to level 60 and having the TT60 weapon was awesome
Twilight Temple mats are expensive
Being level 80+ was god-like





I technically started in december of 2008 but i quit 2 months to go snowboarding and came back in feb.

array sentry > zhenning and fishing
1-80 took me about 2 weeks
80-90 took me about 1 month
TT60-80 was given to me
TT90 was easy too
I only had 1500 rep at level 97


Started TW'ing with Triad
Triad bought me a pheonix
Bought myself a herc


Didnt pk til lvl 92
Got on pk rankings within 3 weeks of playing (tw alone)


Zhenned with baby Tao one time with CandyKat, didnt like it and massacred the party.
Got bored with the game
Stopped logging on, except to tw
Went to ai.on
Joined Assault
Joined Caesar
Joined Enrage
Booted from Enrage
Banned for harassment of Enrage
Went to play sc2 Beta
Playing Run.es of magi.c until sc2 launch



Seriously there is no point in investing time into a game that just gives it away later

Started playing during christmas 2008. Gold was 100k for quite some time still, and i remember when gold went up to 110k at some point for a bit which was considered to be a big raise in gold price for a moment. Got to level 82 before i temporarily quit the game in june. When i came back there were bh's and such all of a sudden.
My tt80 gold gear i farmed back in the day was pretty bad **** compared to other people around me at the time. And i couldn't care less about TW.

I don't really miss the gold price. Economy changes... more like all these packs changed the game in a way where the choice between gaining power by real work or real life money has shifted the balance of the game in a negative way. The differences between a few people are too big which makes the game less interesting and less fun because less skill is needed if you actually gain a lot.
There are people who gain a lot by being smart on the market, but that's also because access to the items of those packs are there, and influence the market in a way where people can exploit it.

What i sometimes miss these days are people who are capable of running an instance while knowing their stuff. Back in the day when TT 1-1 was even a challange I had people with me who struggled with me to play the game and farm the needed mats. Or ran fb69 to help a guildie get his culti done even though fb69 can be tough when your highest level is just level 80. Now it looks like some people simply have not played the game but still have a level 100 character.

So what i basically miss are the fun adventures at instances where you needed teamwork to get things done and the time where event gear wasn't introduced yet and having skill in playing your class was more important then how well you're geared.

i remember when hyper came out ( i was lvl 101 and at 90% )

however i dont remember when oracles came out, cus i just didn't care about those expensive things

Generation 1 for me. Spending ALL my time in EQ doin stuff like tormenting world Chat with Wargasm, Fighting with people like QueenBii for no reason other then I felt like bieng a bish. Learning how to rock in a TT Squad other then being a "lure" ... Oh I remember ONLY bieng wanted because I was a Lure, and I was DAMN good at it. Oh and I remebmer hanging out at all hours of the day waiting for that damn Kowlin to Spawn With Anti, Avaluane, Ruki, etc! >.<

Gen1 here. I started on Harshlands server and moved to HT.

I rolled a barb here and have never looked back. It was fun being a lowbie and even some of the 5X's and 6X's seemed like gods to me back then. I remember my guildie was a 54 barb and he helped me with a mini-boss, the bird that flies above Stairway to Heaven. He one-shotted the adds and 2 or 3 shot the boss. I was in total awe.

I stopped playing the barb seriously after I hit 91 so I could level my archer. Now I'm on to the veno to level her. It's kind of funny how when I was leveling the barb how people would squad to kill quest mobs and now it's not uncommon to see a 7x cleric in squad with a 2X of any class, helping with quest mobs.

I made a lot of good friends back in those days, simply from questing with them. And now most of them aren't playing anymore.
