Why do Clerics get to lose exp?

making everyone get GS and town is ****. in the event of a squad wipe its simply more efficient cost-wise for 1 cleric to return to town and ress everyone, thus you spend 1 GS instead of 6.

I carry both rez and GS (2 each)... If I ever have to burn that 2nd rez scroll on the same random pick-up squad, and it was clearly due to reckless squad actions both times, then I politely tell them to find another cleric as their actions are costing me too much. Doesn't mean I always bail on a random pick-up squad; sometimes there's good team-work, but the boss is just too difficult for the given squad make-up (rare but it happens). In that case I always suggest they abandon the quest and will give it one more try if everyone really wants to proceed and agrees to some different, more cautious tactic (if the same tactic failed twice, it's not likely to succeed on a 3rd go so better be something different or I'm out).

On the original topic, clerics bring EXP loss on themselves... there is ALWAYS a risk of a cleric dying... that risk is very small for for group quests far below your level and very high for BHs that are above your level and varies with the power and competence of the squad. The cleric should be familar with the group quest and be able to assess the squad such that he/she is either comfortable being the only cleric, or should insist on two clerics to redue the risk of their own EXP loss (in my initial forrays into BH89 I was always glad to have a 2nd cleric when the squad was all L92 or less; especially when we had no barb and some wiz is insisting "I can tank this easy" but they only have 2600 HP O_o).
So you don't like the idea that you'll lose EXP as the sole cleric that has died in a squad? Learn to better judge what you can handle as the only healer in a random squad (and when to demand a 2nd cleric or drop from that squad that disagrees with you), or carry rez + GS. Probably still a good idea to practice that judgment call even if you are insured by rez + GS. b:chuckle0 -

The main point is that the cleric should be the one to lose exp instead of any of the other members in a squad. True the cleric is the most important asset in the group. But honestly I'd rather have one of the damage dealers or the tank level up instead of the cleric and I'm sure if you think about it you would too.
Now if you can't understand what I'm saying this time I give up.

Anyone shouldn't die. And anyone can heal 'themselfes': just learn to use Pots and Apothecary stuff.
It's funny how almost all people forget about the existence of those, and just wait for Cleric heals. Event Hp and Mp food is cheap with Tokens. But they only know one solution: BB.

It's easy to avoid being killed. Get good gear with Hp shards (Citrine Flawless are cheap with tokens too). An HP Charm it's great too.
And the Gold Rule: Don't heal if they haven't hit all agroed mobs yet.[insert sig here]0 -

What's all this talk about going to town?
Any cleric not carrying res scrolls in an instance isn't doing their job properly - so the only time they should have to go to town is if there are multiple deaths and res scrolls are still cooling down.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I always keep a good stock of dolls on me. Haven't lost exp since I don't remember when. Buying them with coins sucks these days, but, when you have extra cash, they're only 30 cents a pop.0
