I WANT to be able to compete in higher level PvP/TWs, I NEED these things in order to do so.


If ever other barb out there has a tournament helm, I don't WANT that helm, I NEED it in order to be able to compete with him. That means I need to farm the coins for it, which is becoming harder to farm every single day.

Not sure why you are laughing. That is his goal. We should all set goals in life. Its not a need to have high lvl gear, but if you wish to compete it isn't so laughable that he feels compelled to have them.

Yes, he makes a very good point. If you wish to accomplish any of the real fun stuff in the game it takes a bit of money. Some of it.. a lot of money.

Although I do not believe in keeping up with the Jones'. I do agree with his statement. It is impossible to TW and have fun when you are being 2 shot by someone the same lvl as you with all +10 lunar gears and top notch shards. When you've tt 90 gears. I mean the reason we do play the game is to enjoy it, is it not?

This is exactly why I quit. In other games, I can compete for $15 a month, perfectly even with everyone, it's skill and gear farming.

In PWI, $15 a month is maybe a few refines if I'm lucky. b:surrender

some cash items went up and some down, but prices of all drops - 3-5x down!


and besides, argument that sharding is cheaper isnt really valid. if everyone can have flawless now, then it just became before-pack beautiful's equivalent

For PvP purposes, yeah you would be right. Sorry, I don't TW/pk, and I'm on a PvE server. However, for PvE purposes I think my point is valid.

Anyways, I too started playing before the insertion of the stupid annoying space taking chest of coins came into game, when gold was still as 100k... or around that.

It was far easier to get a few gold, and go refine with tisha/chienkun stones, making it all the more plausible for me to stand up to those who chose to cash shop there way up and be ridiculously strong in a one on one battle on the battlefield, which in my opinion is quite unfair, when I have spent easily 3x-5x longer on my character then he or she did, it is real sickening. Though yes, if it wasn't for them, I probably wouldn't be playing this game, but still when they can spend a couple hours on the game, along with a few bucks from there wallets, and be 10x better then me, then obviously something seems to be unbalanced, and perhaps needs to be changed. (Just using that as an example)

It was also easier to get a charm, though admittedly it still wasn't easy, it was easier back then to buy a charm for 400k, and still have a bit saved up for other things, whereas now, I would be lucky to buy a decent charm, and still have enough left over to save up on my way to a better skill book that I am far more likely to learn. Some things in this game were outrageous to get to begin with, and now it seems all the more harder, for certain things... (I do mean material things, like better weapons and armor, or even fashion) Many people have had to adapt to the new prices of everything, some people undoubtedly don't like the changes, whereas others probably don't give a rat's ****, and will still play until pwi's 'dying' days, (could explain all the re-introductions of all the "make everyone who buy's these packs poor.. and a lucky few richer beyond there wildest imagination... pack.") which for all we know it is. (though I seriously doubt it, please note this is in no way meant as a threat, but as of right now, I am just simply not interested in playing the game, it has become simply to easy to level, and too easy to lose the cash I have been saving up/taking a chance with to buy skills/better armor with.

Was it too easy to obtain some of this stuff in the past? Perhaps, so.

Too hard now? Maybe.

Fun factor still here for many, merchanter, pvp, and pver, alike? I say no, but you all can be the judge. Obviously it is still to the liking of a few hundred (to) a thousand players, probably a lot more then that.

You can get to +3 on mirages alone without trying very hard. I got my veno's weapon to +3 with 10 mirages earlier... I know that was somewhat lucky, but I can usually get 3-4 pieces of armor or ornaments to +3 on 100 mirages. +4 on tienkungs and +5 and better on tishas.

Granted you kinda need tishas to go past +4, but they're relatively easy to get the coin for when you're at a level you need them.

BTW, I got 4 pieces of TT80 gold armor to +3 on 58 mirages, however it took me probably close to 200 to get 5 pieces, 4 90 gear and one ornament to +3 a couple of months ago.

I notice on the forums very often people saying that non-cash shoppers should be thankfull of being allow to play here, thanks to cash shoppers money.

I dont agree with that statement since the game is setup for cashshopers to pawn everybody else. It should be the other way around.

Free players are no longer needed to convert gold into in-game coins.

Also, without the cash shoppers, there would be no game, since PWE is not a charity. IF they cannot make money with the game, they would just shut the game down.

If you were to say, the servers would be quite a bit empty without the free players, than you may had been into something.

Even those of us who do FF runs and get them as reward don't open them. So I call your three words with.... three of my own...Bunch of ****!

This game would not function without hard workers grinding the coins to buy from the cash shoppers. Very doubtful that anyone would pay 5 gold for 1 mil coins in game. Thats just ridiculous thinking on your part.

I'm just a casual cash shopper and even I wouldn't spend 5 gold on a gold hammer to open chest of coins if there wasn't even gold trading in the game.

IF free players were to leave the game, cash shoppers would be able to trade 5 gold for 1million coins. That means, cash shoppers do not need free players to get in-game coins.

Does anyone open those chests nowadays? NO. Would people open those chests if gold droppped bellow 200k? You bet.
Would cash shoppers be able to get ingame coins from gold if there was NOBODY left to buy their gold? You bet, by using chest of coins.

There is nothing wrong with the argument that cash shoppers do not need free players to be able to get in-game coins, since they can always buy a hammer with gold and open a chest to get 1million coins.

Would this game be a very lonely place without free players? you bet...

I once overheard a conversation in West Archo where a player was looking to buy Chest of Coins because she had just put $20 into the game and needed to convert it to cash. Gold was at ~350k at the time.

The temptation would be to assume she was an exceptional case of ignorance, but every single player who bought Oracles during those "sales" did exactly the same thing and paid double the price.

The same could also be said about the countless number of players who insist on buying Perfect Hammers to open a chest full of junk that's worth about half the price of the Hammer.

My conclusion is that it's a good rule-of-thumb to never underestimate just how reckless people are with their money.

Assuming Mirage-only to +3 and Tienkang to +4, for getting to the final +5 it's a toss up between Tishas and Tienkangs.

Tishas take slightly less time (an average of 180 clicks on "Refine" vs. 188 for Tienkangs), while Tienkangs average about 135k cheaper. Basically, it works out to a choice between ~4% faster or ~4% cheaper, so either one will do for +5.

And yeah, with an average cost of about ~3.3 million to +5 a piece of armour, it's about half the price as a Dragon Orb sale, as long as you don't mind all the clicking and the randomness that's involved.
