My 2 cents. Revive has no benefit to cleric. It costs to lvl and lvl 11 isnt cheap around 18 million coins. It provides no chi when you use the skill. Mana cost isn't really an issue IMO. That being said, I don't charge for revive, but there's no reason others shouldn't. If you are already squadded with them, free of course.

If you don't want to pay for a res, buy a GS. Clerics aren't slaves.

Well I'm a Cleric and most of the time I'm happy to help people with buffs or rez for free. But that's what makes ME happy! "To each his (or her) own."

My point is: if a Cleric wants to do freebies, that's great! And if they want to charge a reasonable fee, that's fine, too. Just so it's clear at the outset, which it's to be. And it's also nice to get a thanks afterward, btw, which most people do. I don't get bent if they don't, just chalk it up to either:
1. they don't speak English, or
2. they are just rude, and then go on about my business.

Other games I've played in (that weren't free-to-play), most Clerics DID charge for their services (I think someone already mentioned this, and I've also found this to be true, in my experience).

Side note: I've even had people run up to me in this game, say "Buff me" and after I did, they deliberately KS'd me, ran off, and a half-hour later they'd run up to me AGAIN, and demand "BUFF ME!" , right while I'm in the middle of fighting mobs! Yeah right....."Ya'll can kiss mah grits!"

Well, I just got done rezzing a person who asked me to rez them. I did so without question nor requesting compensation, since that's the type of person I am. I rezzed, healed, and buffed them. They then attacked me. So I killed them, in defense. But to think, they had the audacity to attack me after I rezzed, healed, and then buffed them. **** my generosity, and my nice personality. If you want me to rez you, you're gonna pay. That's all there is to it. **** you dumb people, especially you who would then try to take advantage of me, and try to kill me.

It happened to me a few times on a random rez (asin i fly by and someone is dead and needs a rez) the person after that wanted to trade me money or pots. Back then i was like wow, people charge you for rezzes? That blew my mind, cause it just never came across my mind to ever ask for a rezz.
But, I did became (i dont remember wich of you warned against it but im sure it is somewhere in this post) a doormat cleric now, to the point where i hide on my alt cause the constant bugging and asking for resses, help on bh, etc.
Some dude even expected me to fly up to sanctuary from dreamweaver, where i was doing a quest, just to buff him.

Now, I wish i would have more of a Saitada attitude (saitada-tude should be in the dictionary lol) I know theres more of you that are the same way and stated having the same attitude.
I shall get back on cleric, delete everyone on my friendslist that doesnt have to be there, and wont accept random friendship offers anymore so i dont get bugged all the time.

And no i wont charge for rezzing, because i will choose who i do or dont ress (basically just going to be faction and friends or strangers when im close and feel like it)
No more doormat cleric here! b:chuckle

I too have a black book at the ready.
Just in case I run into a situation like that.

While I have not yet gotten KS'ed/annoyed in the way you were Nexdonum in this game I am already ready for an event like that. I learned to keep it at my side from playing game like (removed names to avoid issue's). Tips hat at Saitada.

People that clearly KS me to annoy me get a warning outlining my future dealing with them. Not abiding to said warning follows with switch entry in that little black book I have at the ready.

Yeah, I never accept random "Friend's Requests", if I haven't even met the person (character) in the game and had some interaction with them. I am always surprised at how many people randomly send me Friend's Requests, when often I don't even see where they ARE, much less have had any conversation or interaction with them. Go figure.....

I used to never do resses... now I'll just charge teleport money (there and back) if I'm not busy and they're not too out of the way. Since tele money will cost up to 50k sometimes, it adds up fast, and I don't think its too much to ask when you're saving them 90% exp loss.

It's happened to me before. That's why I use lvl 11 sleep, mdef and def debuff and let the mobs aggro on them again. b:chuckle

and to all you high lv95+ noobs with alts range 70~80 that dont know any arcane can tank bh59 easy and get the squad killed for not leting the arcane ppl tank you suck

Lucky you, for not having run into this situation. It just surprised me since all they asked for was a res, which I did, then I added in by healing them, and then buffing them.

But I too, have a little black book. It's getting quite full.

Can't wait until I'm 9x and can start to take my revenge upon these ignorant people. >:D

I've had many, many people randomly send me friend invites. Especially in some instances where, like you, I can't even see them (not in the "T" tab either), so I generally just BL them and deny their request. b:chuckle

Well, I've personally never done that to people. Seems unnaturally cruel to me. Although, I have heard of people doing it. But I agree, these sort of idiots are everywhere.

L2 grind. Also whoever says PVE doesn't make you a better player is a liar lol. CS, WQ =/= PVE, and BH, oracles and hyper exp is nothing but a power level. This is not PVE.

On top of that, rev people nearby if you want, if they appreciate it, ok. If not, don't rev them again

I'll bet that there will be more to lose if it becomes common that cleric charge for res. Its not a random outcome that, at least majority of clerics don't ask for a fee for a ressing people.

Imagine what it will be like to go into a bh with your guild mate and the barbs says 50k for repair bill add another 50k for the fact that i'm rare. The totall i'm charging is 100k for this bh.

If fee charging is going to be common, then events such as everyday bh, tts, ffs is going to get even more complicated then it already is. Greed can be a good thing but in this case, its going to cost you more than you will gain.

This thread is about flying or teleporting across the map to revive someone, not to charge for your services in a squad. This thread is about the Cleric's Revive skill and using any other class as an example for your argument makes it invalid. A Barb can't charge because their JOB is to tank, and because of that they get first pick in TT. A Cleric's JOB is to HEAL, not rez, and for that we get 2nd pick in TT.

The only reason a Cleric is ever obligated to revive someone is if they are in the same instance trying to achieve a common goal, such as an FB/FC/TT. Let this be a message to all people:

A CLERIC'S JOB IS NOT TO REVIVE YOU, BUT TO HEAL YOU. BECAUSE OF THIS WE ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO FLY ACROSS THE MAP AND REVIVE YOU BECAUSE YOU WERE DUMB ENOUGH TO GET KILLED.

OUR JOB IS TO HEAL, NOT TO REVIVE, JUST LIKE A BARBARIAN'S JOB IS TO TANK SO PLEASE STOP TRYING TO USE THE TANK AS AN EXAMPLE BECAUSE THAT IS AN INVALID ARGUMENT.

THEY GET FIRST PICK IN TT FOR TANKING LIKE CLERICS GET SECOND PICK ON TT FOR HEALING. IF A BARB WANTS TO CHARGE FOR TANKING THEN CLERICS CAN CHARGE FOR HEALING AS WELL AS REZZING.

If you want me to elaborate my message, I will. But I think my message is pretty clear. Clerics and Barbs should not recieve payment for performing their main role in a squad, not should Clerics charge to revive someone in a squad because they are working for a common goal. But this isn't about squadwork, it's about Clerics having to fly across the map.
