The problem is that some people just can't seem to think outside the box. Just take a look back at Giodia's posts. She consistently missed the point no matter how often it was explained to her, and then laughed at others, because she simply couldn't comprehend that your build could be one of several functional builds. She was too locked into the idea that there is only one acceptable build for each class, and that if you don't have that one build, then you're a "fail" build.

If the people you're squadding with simply can't think of a cleric as a tank, then it's going to be nearly impossible to convince them otherwise, even with all of the evidence in front of them. Things outside of their experience are quite difficult for some people to comprehend.

So, the next time this happens, you might try making a bet with the squad. Bet them that you can tank if they do everything they would for a regular tank, and if you fail then you'll give them each some N coins, and if you succeed then they each give you some smaller X coins. Winning bets like this might even be a way to make a bit of money while opening some eyes. b:chuckle

Katzyn - Sanctuary

I honestly hope that I can one day work with you in a squad, and see this for myself. =D It sounds really awesome, and I applaud you for continuing to do what you feel you do best. Don't let the naysayers get you down. And I feel bad that it's our server who is so stubborn and unwilling (most of the time) to accept your character as what it is. I wish people would just let people play the game as they see fit. If someone plays badly, fine, let them play badly; offer them tips on how to play better, maybe, but don't outright scorn and ridicule them. If someone wants to play an original, or different build, let them, especially if it works for them. I don't understand why someone has to try and make someone else feel bad about how they want to play.

That being said, BMs in Sanct seem to get themselves killed a lot, lol. I worked with two tonight, and they died more than the rest of us. XD

And THAT being said, maybe the BM in the first tale wasn't used to tanking all that much? *shrug* I just recently started tanking fb/bh59 bosses, as my veno, and I've not quite gotten the hang of keeping aggro, though I try my best. Hopefully more practice will make me better. =3
