The thought of nerfing

Hi since the new expansion came out lot of people are happy, others dont care and others are QQing. But now u may see ppl around screaming that tideborns are OP, and most of them (from my experience) say that physics are overpowered as hell and that they r gonna get nerfed. Most of probabilities say they wont, and even further their skills may require sparks, or may have long cooldowns, both tideborns dont even have lvl79 and 100 skills because what they have make them already pawning. But OP? which class does not become crazy powerful at lvls90+? ppl are taking more the "description" of the skills than the real numbers and % and details of wat they do. This is a thread to discuss wat do u think about physics being OP, and ppl claiming that they r gonna get nerfed. b:victory

Eh...they are strong, but to play them correctly you need almost no Vit at all. To make up for being squishy sacks they need to be a little OP'd. Wizard is the same way, they get big damage but at the cost of being run over by anyone/thing with a high Vit score and who can get close quickly. (Flee!!!!!! <.< >.>)

Nerfed? Maybe in certain ways. But their not going to be whacked over the head with a nerf bat any time soon. Magic classes are usually stronger for a reason, they don't get nerfed much otherwise they suck...really really badly. And no one wants a sucky mage.

White and Black voodoo gives def and attk boosts.

I'm not sure if I translate this correctly, that psy gets 22 attk lvls or 99 Def levels when these 2 skills are maxed. Source from Ecatomb.

If attk lvls means a 22% damage increase on top of the 20% from mastery. How will tide born weapons add on top of this figure?

Assuming if the mag modifier and weapon damage is comparable to robe classes, then would we end up with a OP class which can heal (though smaller range) and can tank (def lvl 99 by white voodoo; damage reduced by 99%) ?

Unless the tideborn's psy weapons are gimped, but it doesn't look so when the Mizouni and some other mages are jumping into the class, claiming that it will be the next glass cannon.

Something that is OP will be nerfed. Unless they want sins to be DD and psy's tanking in the whole game.

Yeah, let's tank with that def level 99 and attack -100. They can't hold agro worth **** with that in place. With the attack buff in place, if we get hit by anything we die. No questions asked. (squishy squishy).

I don't see why you see us as OP. Our spells do less damage than a mage, and our heals are worse than a clerics. If psy's are nerfed, they won't be worth playing =/.

They are claiming to be a better glass cannon than Mages. b:shocked

The White voodoo can negate alot of damage taken and with another healer psy, you may replace the Barbs, BMs Mages, Clerics and turn everyone tideborns. b:victory

From what I've seen, mages do more damage than us. Only reason we do more is cause of that voodoo skill, but that makes us too squishy - I don't even bother to use mine.

And you didn't hear me, with the - attack as soon as we are healed once, we lose agro. We have no agro skills. So let us tank for a whole.... 2 seconds ^-^

    *EDIT*
Defense buff goes up by 3.3% per skill level, so it'll only be about 60-70% at max level while our attack will be at -99%. Not enough for tanking considering our "no" hp *635 at level 21 and that's with my oops vit put at level 2*

No no no no. We get a 99% damage decrease and a 66% decrease in teh damage we take with maxed VooDoo. So spam your skills for a grand total of nothing ^-^. I agree that a 66% decrease in damage wouldn't be too bad, but the 99%, yeah it hurts. *voodoo is 33% + 3.3%*skill level + def and 49% + 5%*skill level -attack. so max is 66% and 99%.*

Only one heal skill and it's a heal over time. I've not seen how good it is yet, but clerics will be vastly superior in terms of healing. I gotta say one thing, reading the Soulburn skill... Yeah it's gonna be broken unless there's some huge downside to it. Opponent takes damage equal to your Soulforce each action they take.

My soulforce at level 21 is 1491. Every action they take, they'll take 1491 damage. That's huge, and I get about 80-90 every level. I'm sure it wouldn't work well on bosses (no dot does -.-), but that'll be OP in pvp.

You can't even target to heal.. its just whoever is within 5 meters of you here is what I have with the level 1 spell
    Bubble of Life
    200 mana
    1.5 channel 2.0 cast 30 secon cooldown
Heal all friendly targets within 5 meters for 16.5% of your base magic attack plus 370 over 15 seconds.

They have another HP Recovery effect but thats much later down the line and it isn't really a heal at all its a buff

I laugh at people who say Psychics are OP.. they aren't! I am sure my Wizard will still have much more killing power in the long run than a Psychic
    Joyful!

That's a pretty shoddy heal =/. Will work with the healing buff we get later, but until then, we can't really be considered a main healer. More like backup =/.

I dont think Psys ar OP, its just like every class: Barb have high amount of hp, BMs can stunlock, Clerics can shield and heal, Archers and Mages can DD as hell. Psy can DD, but less than archers and wizz, so they have other skills like heals etc...
In my sense, they are quite balanced.

lol correct me if im wrong but doesn't that psy heal have a 30 sec cool down? in no way is that meant to replace anything in a important instance run, and a 5m range ... -.- dont even bother lol if the boss has aoes.

I can see it being usefull if theres a party wipe about to happend and BB isnt up but apart from that, doesnt seem like it's something to depend on

i dunno.. my psychic is still one shooting mobs with the starter skill and quest items. I dont remember my cleric, wiz or veno one shooting mobs at lvl 20+ with their starter nuke.

and with this Attack Level increase buff.. i can see them doing alot more dmg at a high level because of the %.

Psychics are in no way OP. I am yet to play one (due to the lag in that area) but looking at their skills I dont see them as being overpowered.

Also the atk and def level buffs dont come close to making them OP. Thats a double edged sword to ensuring the psychic can live :P

If you use the atk level buff then ur def is down really low making you squishier than wizards and archers and if you use the def lvl buff, youre a freaking statue which would eventually crumble. Also note that you cant have both buffs enabled at the same time. If you cast one, the other one is lost.

The one place where it could be useful is to give the cleric time to res the tank and buff him up while the psychic holds the boss/mob using the def level buff and not doing any damage (with pots/charms i suppose). Kind of like a bait b:laugh

No no, you (or the mirror holder) reflects only 8% of your total soulforce, and it costs you (the mirror holder) 0.8% soulforce translated into mana. So if you use Mirror on yourself, you would reflect 119 RAW damage (no reductions applied like defense) and it would cost you 15 mana per "tick". And for the PvP part, mirror is reduced in pvp, tested it with a fellow psychic and returned only 27 dmg instead of the usual 83 from pve...

That's not the skill I'm talking about. There's another skill further down the earth line called Soulburn. You place it on a person and it lasts for 8 seconds. Everytime they do any attack, they take your Soulforce in damage. It's one of the higher level skills -59 I think?- Take a look.

Ah I see, my apologies, yes it seems it gets the full soulforce as damage (its listed in the stat as mana burn, was quite confusing), but still, that damage only applies in PvE, while PvP "should" receive 25% of actual damage (will require testing, hope to do it soon).

Though there's one thing that still confuses in the description; the "YOU" in there, does it refer to caster, or recipient? That will make a lot of difference in its actual power...

The SoulForce stat only applies to the Psychic class, so it should be the Caster's Soulforce.

Also, please let us know how that test goes. This is another skill that might make or break me makin' a Psychic.

Thank you for pointing out, when I saw soulforce on the character sheet, i assumed every class gets its own soulforce value, and skills work off of them, but now I see the point. My psycho is only 22 atm, but it should be leveling once he hits BH area (shameless non-oracle player <.<)

Though @Konari, a question that will call upon some of your memories; but is the damage of ~800 on non water mobs, and ~1,1k on water mobs with earth skill considered "normal" for wizards in 20's (skill is lvl5 Spirit Blast; 75% eq value + 794.1 EA dmg) ?

First off, I'm happy that you don't Power-Level using Oracles. A few here and there is fine to top off, in my opinion...but overdoing it is just...well, I just don't feel fond of it.

Second, I'm not entirely sure...my natural instinct wants to say no, though...but whatever. Either way, even if Psychics seem to be getting the "OP" flag from people, I'm a PvE'er by heart. The only thing I've been worrying about is them completely shutting out Wizards for any squad-based fun (TT, TW, what have you)...but those fears have long passed.

I actually can't wait to start TW'ing with a Psychic...the combination of the Psychic and Wizard will be feared throughout the land!
