Even at 500k the Anniversary Packs still are under-priced because they produce items for a tiny fraction of their normal cost. People are of course going to buy items that are cheap, and that's why I'm able to make a profit despite the "high" Gold prices.

Now, eventually, Gold should reach an equilibrium point where it's not profitable to do what I'm doing anymore, but that's probably somewhere around the 800k mark. As long as it's below that mark, then sorry, but patience/boycotts/complaining/etc... won't accomplish anything.

If any gold seller really wants to step up and take some action feel free to sell me cheap orbs as I cant really afford to refine my gear with these prices.

The reason why gold is selling for 500k+ is because gold is now worth 500k+ but only if you use that gold to buy anniversary packs. The packs are what is driving the worth right now as they are genuinely valuable. As long as gold can be used to buy them gold will remain at those high prices.

It costs 9700 coin to buy 1 gold at 485000 coin and then 2 silver to resell it.

So if each Gold is 100 silver then to buy 1 gold at 485000 coin your actually paying 494700 coin. To then resell it you need to sell it for 504594 to break even (to compensate for the cost of the silver needed to resell it with).

As the price goes up, so does the charge for buying it (the 9700 becomes 9780 coin if buying @ 489000). If it goes down. the same thing happens in reverse.

You need to be able to calculate where the profit line is going to be or you really cost yourself more than you make. To buy and resell you basically have to buy low and then resell at 20,000 coins higher than you purchased to break even at current prices. More to make any reasonable amount of profit.

Eh, the sellers are more at fault than the buyers IMO. You cant put all the blame on one group of people. Everyone is to blame here (except people who dont buy zen w/ coin/real money or dont sell it).

Take out the anni packs, gold goes down, put it back in-gold goes up. And you're saying that gold goes up because people buy it for so much? And that the devs arent to blame?
When the anni packs came out people bought a lot of gold w/ coin from the AH, so naturally the sellers raise the price.
When the packs came out people buying the anni packs started to buy it for the old gold prices (120k) not 500k, the sellers raised the price. The sllers raised the price, not the buyers.

The sellers are the people who type in the number "600 000". Not the buyers.

A lot of people who buy a lot of Gold from AH are Zen buyers or are you saying Zen buyers never buy anything with coins? Some even buy cheap Gold just to sell it at the price they want to, why? Because they can. Now let's say there is an event for Battle Packs, and I need some SoF. What do I do? I am forced to buy at ridiculous prices just because I have no other choice. What should I do? Wait one year or give up just because prices are high? Well, if that was the case I'd probably do that, but lately, the SoF that I have borrowed from a friend ( which were worth about 1.5 mils ) are now woth 7.3 mils. I am FORCED to waste 6 more millions to pay back my debt. When there wasn't a sale every week prices were usually normal, and even with mount sales and clothes the gold never skyrocketed. Now, because of a few greedy people who buy xxx packs just because they are too lazy to work for their gear, everyone else has to suffer. And no, Zen buyers shouldn't have any priviledges if you ask me. A fair F2P game is one where both cash shoppers and those who don't spend a dime can get gear/items, one with money, one with hard work, but possible for both. I used to love buying Fashion, and I always did when there was a sale, but guess what? Lately I havent even bought one damn set because I just can't see myself wasting 4 mils on a dress.
Bottom line, I blame the Devs, because they are ruining the game for those who don't buy Zen. Their greed seems to have no limit. I started playing this game because it was possible for new players to enjoy it too, and I must say I did. It was nice while it lasted, now it's turning into nothing more than a clone of XXXXXXX, which I ended up hating and I quit after 2 years. I'll pay my debt to my friend then I will seriously consider quitting the game, I'm better off playing a normal RPG, a lot more fun and you hardly get annoyed playing those.
And one more thing, Zen buyers aren't the only ones who keep this game running, players who play it for free do that too. If we don't play, who will buy your Gold?

You just described PWI.

Every single item in Cash Shop can be traded and sold in-game. On top of that, the game even gives the players the option to purchase gold with in-coins.

Gold trades at fair market value, since both the buyers and the sellers have to agree to the value of the gold when trading for in-game coins. However, the buyers have all the power in this game, since they dictate how much they are willing to pay for the gold.

Regarding your "if we don't play who will buy your gold" question. Ever wonder why there are chests in-game that can be open by using a cash shop item that give coins?

Right now, not buying gold won't help. The people who buy gold with real life money can buy ann packs instead of selling it. In the end we'll lose out. And even if they don't want to spend money on ann packs, they can wait for the new expansion. Who knows what it will bring. Pre-made lvl 90 accounts for only 10 gold? Or maybe they'll have 1-shot weapons, where in 1 hit your opponent dies. We have no choice in the matter-we'll have to continue buying gold at that insane price. Anyone who can bother to make 500k without buying gold deserves to be able to buy gold. So it's not greed. They're just buying charms or something. It IS greed if they buy anniversary packs. But most people who do that started with gold in the first place, to make that 50 mil to start off with. So, in the end,its the gold sellers and anniversary pack buyers fault. What about the level 80 barb who needs a charm to tank bosses? He's not greedy.

It sucks to have to grind 2-3 times longer to buy new fashion, but since I rather not use RL money, I do not see that as unfair. It is my choice how I buy the item I want, and if I choose the grinding way, than I will always be at the mercy of gold price changes.

Regarding the overall faireness of the game, I do not think things are too much out of place. Some people got an edge with the packs, however, even non-cash shoppers had a chance, so it was fair overall.

I will agree that for a low level player that does not use RL money, getting all the cool fashion and new mounts just got harder, and that part I think it is a shame.

@ Albiro - The barb does not need a charm to tank the bosses... he needs a good cleric. Charms only make things easier, but are not needed. Now, if you are talking fashion, that is really not optional (at least for me)
I cannot talk from the pvp side of things, since I do not have to deal with constant pvp, so I will not comment on the need of charms for pvp, or angels.

What happens if a cleric runs out of mp? We die. If we had a charm, we live. Charms are needed.

No,they want it at an affordable price. On our server I think gold was at 589k last I checked. Thats not very affordable.

I dont personally buy gold. I just think it unfair that all the blame is going to the gold buyers who buy gold with coins. The non csers want the gold price to go down since they can then enjoy the game. If the price of gold goes down,the game becomes fairer for everybody. Its not greedy to want to be equal. The colonists in the United States of America wanted to be considered equal to the people living in Britian. They fought a whole war over it. Equality is something that this game is lacking. I agree, gold buyers should have an advantage. But then we should also be able to get the items in a non-gold buying way. I know its possible to get endgame gear, but it takes ages. On the other hand, a person just needs to charge some zen into his account and he has everything. But the point I'm trying to make here is that its not the gold buyers buying with coins fault. True, some of them buy and sell high. It IS partly their fault. But its not the fault of the barb who needs to buy a charm. And this plan is unreasonable-

1) You would need the WHOLE server to join in. Even those players buying low selling high.

2)Even then you're not sure if the gold sellers will bring the price down. They could just keep the gold and rock in the game,while the rest of us are using blacksmith weapons.

3)PW will probably just release something which will raise the price even higher.

In the end, I don't see how not buying gold will help bring pricing down. All it will do is make the non gold buyers suck at this game while the gold buyers are killing everyone.

You seem to keep missing the point.

If half the Cash Shoppers quit the game, the price of gold would go up. You have the same demand for gold but half the supply, the price is going to go up.

If half the non-Cash Shoppers quit the game, the price of gold would go down. You have the same supply of gold but half the demand, the price will go down.

Simple supply and demand.

Gold sellers can only lower the price of gold (by offering to sell it for less than anyone else). The only way they can raise it is to stop selling gold (either quit the game or become a non-CSer).

Gold buyers can only raise the price of gold (by offering to buy it for more than anyone else). They only way they can lower it is to stop buying gold (either quit the game or become a CSer, or in this game, simply not buy anything that requires gold).

Where these two meet is the market price. I don't see why you are thinking of it in terms of blame. There is no blame, it's simple market mechanics. If anyone is trying to blame someone, it's the non-CSers claiming there's some grand conspiracy to raise the price of gold. People like IceJazmin, Saitada, and I are simply pointing out that the cause of higher gold prices is buyer demand.

Keep in mind the the gold market is perfectly symmetrical. The top half lets you sell gold. The bottom half lets you sell coin. Everything that can be done with or said about gold sales applies equally to coin sales. For the game to be fairer if the price of gold goes down, it would also have to be fairer if the price of coin goes down. That's logically impossible.

Yeah, you do affect Gold Prices. Do you have GAs? A decent mount/aerogear? Charms, dragon orbs, etc? If you don't, then, okay, this point is moot, but-- you're buying things from the botique, just, indirectly. When you buy from a player selling their aerogear, you are pretty much giving them back the money they spent on the botique for it. They're just the middle man.

'specially with one-time-use items like charms, GAs, and ext. stones.

And as we've seen-- if gold prices rise, EVERYTHING suffers inflation, even if only a bit.

As as for the gold market being symmetrical-- It's like a scale. Right now, the people that are buying gold are balancing the people that are selling. That's why the gold prices are STAYING high. True, the people buying gold atm are probably not the same level range as the ones that bought when gold was 100k (it's probably mostly higher levels), but, there are still people buying.

The only way to change gold prices (up or down) is to either get rid of some of the sellers (increases demand, price of gold goes up) or get rid of some of the buyers (decreases demand, price of gold goes down).

That doesn't mean that the prices are fair to EVERYONE, however. It just means that there /are/ people buying at those 500k/gold prices.

Edit: Yeah, it would be nice if the gold sellers lowered prices out of the kindness and want for the lower people to actually enjoy the game-- but is it gonna happen? No. Not unless their ingame livelihood is threatened (by taking away buyers).

As a ton of people have said before-- it's not just the gold seller's greed-- it's the buyer's, too.

Zoe, the coin sellers are the ones that set the prices on the "BUY" gold section.... Not the gold sellers.

For what you are saying to be true, the "BUY" pane would have to be removed and only the "SELL" pane be left, that would remove the coin sellers willing to pay extra from the AH. However, the second that was put in place, you would have the begining of a gold black market.... Greedy coin sellers would make sure they get all the gold they want, even if it is at above "market". After they cleaned up the market offers.

The only other alternative would be to remove the ability to buy and sell gold.
