Also, if a fox can ride on a tiger, I don't see why a deer or cat can't. Also, for the bunny form, I was thinking the look of the snow hare but make it bigger.. like the huggy hare size. We want the forms to all be about the same consistent size.

And she had a unique idea for the devil venos. Why do they have to transform into a real-life critter? It is a fantasy game anyway, so she came up with a fantasy-based true form.

*Side-note: On the grizzly bear, maybe do a polar bear instead? Looks a little more like a panda to me. And we've got forms for those in-game already.

Wanna help me with the concept designs? My free resources are limited and I just got word that they'll only be able to finish the Lion form. And I'm looking for favors right now instead of commissioning. I'm just a self-taught semi-proficient user in photoshop so I can help colour stuff and all. But yeah, those samples are great! And the polar bear, well, it's only a color scale away from grizzlies. :P

But yeah, the deer form, I can see it happening more than I had last time with that sample. And that bat form looks amazing! Kudos to your gf for the fantastic drawings.

he wants a wolf true form, lion true form, etc, for the barbarian. and he wants all of them for veno as well. of course Tiger and Fox forms are excluded. And he is not asking for humanoid body forms, the actual animal.

We need something that makes displays itself as an actual and tangible piece to the game. So perhaps we could take a screenshot of a regular barb/veno's true form, and then get the lineart of the lion, wolf, deer, grizzly/panda/polar bear and overlay the lineart over the current tiger form.

EDIT: Do you think it'd also be a good idea to get people from the fanatics forum to help draw for us?

First, as for the fanatics forum.. HELL YES! If any body knows how to draw fan art it would be them!

While my gf can draw the concept art for you, I have no knowledge of being able to make 3D images or models. But i'll see what I can do about some screenies of the fox and tiger true forms. Just pm me any information you need or need to give me.

I'm working with very limited resources so my work so far isn't amazing but I've got a few pictures done, my gf been busy with her program so she hasn't been able to draw anymore yet. So i'm working with the original pics atm.

i'd love to see it. though as has been mentioned, a panda would be a bit awkward simply because of their girth. lion would just be tiger with a different skin and add the hair around its head, and wolf.. well wolf would need a completely new.. whatever its called. design.

Wasn't sure whether to put this in the other thread or in here, but I was playing around with huggy hare screenshots and came up with this:



The symbol on the head means Jade...I was trying to connect it to mythology so I modeled it after the jade rabbit. Wasn't sure on size of it either. b:surrender

Makes me think of a fluffy boogerb:chuckle

Anyway.. back on topic. It's a good idea, especially since the devs have always claimed something about the game being mythologically accurate. They can't argue if it's a mythological rabbit lol

This topic is almost as beat down as the male/female only classes. But I have a different view on this discussion than the veno vs barb. It would be nice to have a true form that was more of a... true form. Because even the barb tigers aren't white. So why does the 'true form' have to be a white tiger? Why NOT have a more type-specific true form? All of the animals are still large enough to carry a woman on its back, so it wouldn't be too much (at least, I don't think it will) to ask for. Personally, I'd like being an oversized wolf instead of a white tiger when I had to tank.

Leave my fluffy booger alone b:sad I edited it because it looked more realistic in the landscape with a shadow. I still think the fanatics forums is going to do better though.

Okay, it was suggested that I post my suggestion concerning the barbarians true form here. I will not provide a link to my thread because I could careless about it anymore.

I'm not aware if this idea has already been suggested in this thread... But if the programmers of PWI do not feel they have the time or resources to make brand new models for the "TRUE forms" for the wolf, panda, and lion. Why not just use models that have already been created? Just re-skin them... It's the cheap and easy way out.... and it may make people happy.

For example a barbian lion's true form could use the same model as the gold mane lion. And to keep in theme with the white tiger... it could be reskinned into looking like a white lion.

The panda's true form could use the the bad panda mount model, minus the saddle and also recolor the model so that the panda would be pure white. Doing this would help get around the Chinese law that bans killing/harming pandas in video games. So it'll just look like a polar bear, they can't complain about that...

The wolf's true form could use the already created model of the Frost Wolf ground mount from Jade Dynasty (PWI's sister MMORPG).

Just remove the saddle and it should be just fine. Plus it's already white.

Apparently reskinning and implementing models from other games owned by PWE isn't too hard to do. Take a look at some of these reskinned mounts from PWI put into Jade Dynasty. The examples I'm showing here are the reskinned Ancient Boa and Scarlet Ninetails mount from PWI.

If they can take models from PWI and put them into JD, why not the other way around?

I would also like to make it clear both Jade Dynasty and Perfect World International are owned by the same company, Perfect World Entertainment Inc.

Yeah, that's come up this thread before. Though I've never seen a proper response to it though. The GM's that contacted this one user to provide a series of concept art. They probably want original ones. But yeah, I'll try working on the preexisting ones as well...
