This is a Thread about PVE.

It means I am going to talk about mobs and how OP (Opressed) they are. Do you guys imagine how many mobs you kill every day? Now imagine those mobs after you killed tnen and they start QQb:chuckle? Unfortunaly they dont QQ or call you names and they dont even talk to you.

I love some of the mobs' responses when you attack them, they've got amusing battle cries.

One thing I have noticed over time is how mobs tend to clump together. They don't migrate and have no flock AI but its actually an emergent phenomenon. As players kill they tend to pick off the mobs that are isolated so as to engage them in 1v1. When the mob randomly respawns it is possible for it to respawn next to another mob, making it a less desirable target for players.

Over time the system evolves until many of the mobs are aggregated in dense clump. I saw such a clump recently in Sage world of some air mob (Deceitful Heathens? I forget the name). I counted them and found 17 mobs clustered together in a small 15 meter radius.

How long would it take such a clump to form? A few days? A week? It's hard to say but I was just amazed at this emergent structure suspended in the air.

Anyway I ended up barraging them until they were all dead. Fun fun.

There is actually a similar evolutionary pull of mobs towards "increased life" and "increased defense" status. Lots of players (especially in the 30-60 level range) skip these mobs completely and if the player is grinding in an area for a while eventually all the mobs have an undesirable status and they are forced to move on to a different area :O

It's not the mobs that change but the population itself that evolves to be more resistant to grinding. Fascinating.

I actually had to change locations a bunch of times when I was grinding because too many inc. mag res mobs kept spawning . A debuff such as undine strike was very effective against those but some mobs had too much hp and even with that they died to hard to make staying there worth it.

I believe inc. def mobs are only like 50% harder to kill which is nothing compared to how much harder inc.mag res mobs are , some1 said 10 times or something which might be true , at least at higher lvls . Even with a -60% debuff which fully affect's mobs it still won't be as easy as a inc.def mob is to a phy DD class.

Oh wtf , I'm talking about PVE , damn ... I blame Linnkotsu for getting me into lvl 96 spider grind. b:angry

Increased Mag Def mobs are my favorite Twice as much XP and just as easy to kill.

It's right up there with Increased Movement Speed (on a ranged mob), Sacrificial Assault, Increase Attack on a magic mob and Increase Mag Attack on a physical mob.

I've always been jealous of how clerics can aoe grind on dozens of poison mobs at once. Not that I care for the XP but it looks pretty impressive and seems like it could be fun to do.

Recently I've tried aoe grinding on the mobs in 3rd map and can round up 50 at a time. AOE grinding like that is definitely a little tricky for an archer but is doable even though it eats a lot of charm.

I wouldn't grind at all if I wasn't in need of spirit for my skills.

I wish i could AoE like you asty. But well here's my PVE story:

I look for mobs to grind on sometimes its flying mobs in sage world. Sometimes its avalanche crusher. Once i find the mob of choice:

1. Send nix in
2. Let nix kill mob
3. Toss nix a heal if needed
4. Look for the next mob to kill
5. Send nix in again
6. Repeat process until there's 100k worth of dq in inventory
7. Repeat the next day

Sounds like your nix is having all the fun :P
Really veno PVE gameplay doesn't seem very fun. Gimme a bow any day.
