Ksing on Striped king spider (oracle quest)

I wonder if it is within the rules to do ksing on this Striped king spider (oracle quest). My question is because, I went 3 times to do the line (the line had about 15 players every time)and at the front there were a couple of idiots ksing the mob and nobody was getting the kill.
Their argument was, that we were noobs and that we should go and do something else to level up (silly excuse).
finally, I was able to do the line on sunday afternoon and finish the quest.
So, it's this type of ksing within the rules or not?
If not why these players are not banned?

Ksing is not against the rules.
End discussion.
Your anger will never fuel new rules.
Wait it out, or do the oracles later when the events over.0 -

You are talking in general terms. For instance, in real life driving a car is totally legal. As long as you have your driver license up to date, no blind, ect.
Personal intimate relationships are legal in real world, except if one of them is a minor, poligamist, ect.
Please, don't answer the question in general terms since my case is not general. This is a particular case.
The people doing Ksing on this mob did not have the quest. Since they killed the mob many times on their own. The inention was clearly just to disturbe the other players game experience. They were saying so many times with other words of course.
My question is not if Ksing is allowed. My question is, if this kind of ksing is allowed?
I'm not asking to change any rules, since this is just a game for me. I could have quit that quest and or the game with no problems for me ( I can always take another quest or another game, there are many for free too).0 -
I can pretty much assure you anyone "KSing" them is uses there 100s of ORacles, and not doing it -just- to annoy you.
If it is the latter, then it would be hassment. Then again you have no way to prove it one way or the other.
Basically.. not against the rules.0 -

I understand your post and basically it makes it the end of discussion as it makes total sence.
But so you know the players doing the killing did not have the quest (I cannot prove it) but they simply did not want people to level up as they were, since that's what they were saying on the chat.
Fortunately, I got that quest for free from a friend.0 -

Well, one of the players was from a very notorius guild in Santuary. However, I will not mention the guild, since the guild can't be blamed for the acts of a member. Mainly, in situations like this in which the action falls into a rules limbo.
BTW, my question was answered already. No more clarifications needed. Thx0 -

i'm just going to say what i've been saying in my faction forum. this game is about COMPETITION period. with that being said, who the hell is gonna wait in line for let's say if you have 100 oracles? that's insanity on it's own. it would take at least a day to get all that done i would imagine. and also the killing is high varaible, cause low lvl takes forever to kill them while higher lvl are faster.
so unless you can justify why should anybody stop ksing just because you were the next one in line, don't bother. it's like saying when people bid of land, you shouldn't outbid them since they bid first. who the hell does that? for land bidding it comes down to who has the most money to put out, so that nobody else can outbid them. or even taming rare pets. nobody cares if you don't have a rare pet yet and you just want to get one. it's ridicules.
so short of everybody implementing a rule where first come, first serve. it's not going to work.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Evga you are evil for taking all those rare pets! b:cry
Anyway.. on topic.. I agree.. waiting in line is ridiculous for those oracle quests.. noone waits in line for a mob at the wraith events.. same principle..0 -

Honestly, you did not read my post or you just want to argue (I think you just want to argue).
1) My question was answered already.
2) Those guys were not doing the quest. They were just killing the mob for the fun, based on their own words on the chat. They were high levels and acording to them low levels should be doing other things rather than this to level up (I guess they mean the hard way). If they were doing the quest, they had a point BUT THEY WERE NOT BASED ON THEIR OWN WORDS.
As I said, I don't want any rules changed or anything. I just wanted to know if this was ok within the rules.0 -

Does competition forbids to be fair and have a brain ?
there are 20000 players for 1 mob.
action 1 = kill the mobs dont care about those others F... i have the biggest i will win
action 2 = do the thing orderly, in all fairness ( Isnt order the goal of the game ??? i seem to remind of a PNJ talking about peace between the 3 races .... )
Action 1 = you will get 2 reactions ( cause with an action, you always get a reaction , dynamics 101 ) A = all the Ppl in that Faction are B.. , F..; and **** them to hell ; B = yeah i wanna be a **** like they are so i ll become one of them (it s best to keep black lambs amongst themselves)
Action 2 = Some will say .. dont have time .. and other lame excuses but will follow the rules, all the ppl (even that lv 20 cleric you despised 5 minutes before, and that rezes you now) will have their chances, and next time when they will need help they call on you .
So you dont need friends, dont need help, can stay among yourselves chose action 1, and dont come QQ later when you ll need help and none of your friends are here.
Action 2 is the best choice for a civilised population, democracy and the rest
But as they say .. its a free world.. you have the right to do whatever you want... Just assume your acts.I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.
Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.0 -
Since when is order the goal of a game? I thought the goal was to win o.O0

Altruism isn't always the best course of action, even for "civilized" people.
Democracy often can devolve into mob-rule and chaos.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

HA HA HA. That's one of the difference between humans and regular animals. So you know.....
I wonder why would be needed to make a line to kill wraits? and why would a line be needed to kill the spider king?
I don't think this requires explanation but......I guess you need it but I'll let you to deduct it on your own, since I think is really simple.0 -
ks meaning kill steal, by no means can get anyone banned. because the battle system in here is "free for all", whoever deals the most damage gets the mob. if u happen to play FFXI before, than it may be bannable, depending on situation as well.
now, the high levels do not have the quest, as u have seem from their chats. screenshot it and report them! if they are dumb enough to admit it, than it is something called "griefing" (i think).
waiting in line is common courtesy, but u can choose not to wait. either ks or wait till no queue is there... i have over 90 "oracle I" sent and kept away on my mule character.0 -
Yes griefing is against the TOS.. KSing as not.. and to answer your question granrey.. lines are not needed in either situation.. which is why I call it ridiculous.. the lower levels are whining for the exact same reason the higher levels KS .. they don't want to wait to do their easy exp quests.. however the higher levels have the trump card..
you say its for the good of everyone.. and sure it benefits others.. but it also doesn't benefit everyone .. you want the lines so you can get the kills .. yes there are high levels who will wait and high levels who think waiting in line is just fine and dandy.. but not all will0 -

Except humans are animals: civilized ones, most of the time. Other times humans act like uncivilized animals.
I'd prefer it to be complete chaos at the spider king spawn point as it's much more entertaining to watch. b:pleased[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

They were dumb enough to admit it. However, I decided to enjoy the game doing my other quests rather than reporting. Since I came to play to have fun and forget real life issues rather than getting more issues.
I came the next day and I was able to finish it.
At the same time, developers might have design these oracle quests this way. Otherwise, they would have put the mob inside a dungeon in which you can do it without other people disturbing.
As I have said several times, I just wanted to know if this was ok to do.0 -
Devarsi - Sanctuary wrote: »Since when is order the goal of a game? I thought the goal was to win o.O
Win what ?
if there is a secret once you reach wathever needs reaching , you get to have 5.000.000.000 $ in real money ?
You a PK ? so you can take on Pk .. not other players. (But i dont understand pkers that dont play on PVP servers .... but thats another debate)
I dont think you go all the way up the line, to buy at the supermarket, or when in an administration ....
So its just a game... RPG ( Role Playing Game) to level up toons, stuff them best you can, do your best to take the challenges .. and win those..
And i dont think that being in a game permits ppl to be less civilized than in RL .I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

I admit several people were having a good fun.0 -
Reivi .. look at your first post.. action 1 you used the term win.. winning is the goal of any game.. although yes RPGs do not have a specific end point..
My comment was more about games in general and to point out that you are asking for people to pick order over winning (your two actions) in a game0 -

Ummm, some people have a few hundred oracles... so they gotta kill the same mob a few hundred times.
Where do i complain about enrage again? Forget about all the other guilds ksing... enrage is where all the action is at.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

Why don't you call some higher level help yourself and have them KS the KS'ers?
if you don't have the power to stand up against injustice you have choices
1) call help from a hi-level friend
2) find a creative and annoying way to disturb the KS'ers so that KS'ing is no longer fun. Look up the WarrenWolfy's post - he had some amusing and rather fun ideas. Half of them don't work in this situation but other half do.
3) Pray (contact the GM in this context)0 -

1)Actually a high level guild friend was there the first time we tried. He started Ksing but there was no purposes since the Ksing players did not need the mob. For them it was like another guy joined the fun of stopping other of completing the quest.
2) Actually the most creative way was to continue doing my other quests and return later. it worked0 -
higher level characters always have the advantage in this game as well as every other mmorpg. This is like low level venos complaining that high level venos always tame the rare pets before they get a chance.
I wouldn't consider this KS-ing, because that mob technically is up for grabs, regardless of whether or not a player waits in line for 20 minutes.0 -

It is actually KSing.
And that was not a good example to use.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
ok, so if it's kill stealing, who are they stealing the kill from?0
