Even _if_ your average spending per person was higher, you guys make up a laughable ~25-30% of the PWI community, so you'd have to spend loads of more cash on average just be to on par with the PvE servers, let alone dwarving them.
All you can do is make wild speculations, based on your ego-inflated view that you're better, more skilled, more important and more 1337 than PvEers.
To get halfway back on topic:
"Tea-party server", huh? You know what, you're really a perfect example of why this thread exists. People like you could write 20,000 posts and you still would be completely unable to write just a single posting that doesn't contain any insults or at least was belittling others you obviously perceive as being inferior to you, am I right? Don't you guys just get that nobody takes you for serious that way? I will tell you a secret: That the persons you're referring to as "carebears" refrain from tossing similar **** back at you doesn't actually mean that they have the slightest respect for you or your kind - only that they have better manners. Have a nice day!
Note: I said there is a HIGH chance, oh gosh it had to be 1 from the tea-parties....
You actually believe there is a SLIGHT chance of pve paying more than pvp ? ROFL @ YOUR LOGIC hahahaha.
Sure PVP server may not beat BOTH PVE servers combined, but it PROBABLY beats 1 lol PVE paying more than PVP .... that was a nice laugh.
And your second paragraph is too **** to comment on.
Btw you're the one throwing insults here, my ego doesnt need/feed on video games tyvm for trying a smart comment!
Funny you didnt quote the rest of my post (I'm pretty sure I know why you didnt) lol.

Is it perhaps imaginable that we just don't think that shooting others in the back while they are busy fighting a monster is fun? No? As far as I know, none at all. Not sure though, I tend not to attend to not too many virtual tea parties. Virtual tea is alright and so, but I have to admit I prefer real tea. Earl Grey, if I can chose. It somehow tastes better than virtual tea. And on my last tea party we didn't have any dolls that I know of. Some of the ladies definitely used charms, though![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Perhaps that's what i'm doing wrong... I need to throw real tea at my virtual tea parties... I actually prefer a nice chamomile tea, rather than earl grey, but to each their own. And when i was a girl growing up, most of the tea parties involved dolls - but they were real, not virtual. The tea, however, was still virtual.0

I completely disagree, I even did a psychology paper for my one of my undergraduate courses on behavior of people in online games. I got a perfect score on the paper but I will temper that by saying that the grade doesn;t make my opinion true and that what I am goign to say is only my opinion... yours may differ.
People, over time, tend to play games the way they live life. Someone may create an "evil" character, but if they play it for any length of time they will revert to their own personality. This is human nature. We may "act" for short periods of time, but prolonged time online nullifies the acting, nobody is that good.
People who cheat on games, cheat in life. It's not the nature of honest people to do otherwise nor of dishonest people to be other than what they are.
People who are abusive online are abusive in real life. People who are abusive do not suddenly attain the skills to be abusive just by logging onto a game.
People who are kind and understanding are the same way in the games they play. They may "roll" a barbarian and even type in grunts, but when it comes down to it they are still kind and understanding in their interactions.
People who chastise others online for being "emo" are usually not nice, kind, or understanding people. They tend to be among the abusive set who think it is their place to belittle others for having feelings or for being kind. People like that try to make others feel small as if kindness something to be insulted.
Sad really... but people play games the way they live life.. people are who they are."A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I completely disagree with this, my guild in another game was full of PKers, we were RL friends and pk'd a lot pretty much like the RQ you see here except for 8x killing 3x sure everyone thought we were evil satanists in RL and wanted the death of every1 or something like that rofl!

Agreed. Anyone can play a villain for a few sessions, but when you play the same role day after day for months, the character starts to drift toward one's natural personality.
In my experience, most people who play nasty characters in a game are only doing what they wish they could get away with in the real world. There are exceptions, of course (e.g. people who are exploring a darker side of themselves, or trying to understand 'the other side'), but those tend not to last very long. And, as has been noted elsewhere (in this thread, i believe), even professional actors can't sustain a role so deeply contrary to their natural personality for long.
In short: if someone acts like an **** in a game a few times, it says nothing about them. If they act like an **** consistently over a long period of time, it generally means that they probably are really like that.0 -

Why cant I act like an antagonist in game for ages without it reflecting my RL person ?
You can play the evil role for as long as you want.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Just because you are RL friends doesn't mean you are nice people IRL. It doesn't mean you aren't either, as I said, my post is merely my opinion. I have what I consider very nice friends who also play games and not one of them takes joy in PKing, I don't have the heart to PK anyone which is why I play on a PvE server.
I don't know you IRL so I won't judge, but I have my opinion and so far it has yet to fail me. I'm sure it will at some point but I don't consider people who go out of their way to make other people unhappy to be nice people.
Let me say this though. If you and your friends were PKing other people who chose to play a PK type game and put themselves in position to be PKed, then I don't view that as being mean or the spawns of satan. You can't PK me because I never go into PK mode, so it sounds to me like people hated you for being good PKers."A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

On the danger of repeating myself, there is a difference between being a roleplayer and being an **** (to stick to that term). If you call someone a "carebear/noob" etc. that's directed at the PLAYER, not the character. Making you an ****. However, if you say "Good Lady, your swordhand surely needs practice!", that's directed at the CHARACTER, making you a (mean) roleplayer.
Persons roleplaying a mean/evil person in a RPG don't have to be evil in real life at all. Persons who act like an **** in a game _always_ are asshats in real life too.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

That's debatable becoming "evil" in a RPG can and usually includes a lot of talk when your victims start calling you out/insulting you/kosing you

That's correct. There is usually not much roleplaying happening on a PK server, at all. Roleplaying involves talking, developing relationships, playing plots, etc. You guys usually don't do that kind of stuff, you just kill. No offense, just a fact. But that also means that you cannot use the "I am just roleplaying, I am super-cute in real life, trust me!" line as a cheap excuse. You guys aren't roleplaying, really. You are just being yourselves.Lessie - Lost City wrote: »You dont expect the guys who pk everyone all day to talk all pretty and send you flowers do you ?
No, but I would say that behaving like gentlemen would be in the realm of possibility, nevertheless. You know, I did semi-pro sports when I was younger, and the thought that I could have called my opponents "noobs" or "you guys suck!" after I beat them in a match makes me giggle, really. Honestly, just imagine it, the winning team in the super bowl gives the losing one the middle finger while shouting "LOOOOOL, PWNED JUUU, U N00BZ!"... it's quite unthinkable, wouldn't you agree. Being competitive doesn't mean you have to become an a-hole. Actually, it shouldn't. And except in online PvP I have never seen it happening in any sports.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

If you feel no one loves you then you can start by giving out love to others and i can assure you love will love back to you. If You had a painful past you can always remember that the past is over and that you can shape your future by the choices u make in the present moment. If you are in any abusive relationship then you can stand up for yourself and find better alternatives.
You will always have a choice in life. I hope you start to make choices that make you a better person.

I am as care-bear as the next guy, but to be fair, people mostly act this way because the rules explicitly allow it (and in the case of Lost City, encourage it). That is, part of being a "nice" person is complying with the rules and expectations of a situation. Just because someone goes crazy cheering and waving a flag at a football game doesn't mean he would do that or fantasizes about doing that at a wedding.
Likewise, a game may explicitly allow PvP or PKing to allow people to compete against each other in an environment where nobody actually gets physically hurt. Just because people take advantage of that doesn't necessarily mean they want to kill in RL. In that respect it's a lot like sports - I may tackle the opposing football player to stop him from scoring, but that doesn't mean I secretly want to tackle him in normal social situations where such behavior is frowned upon.
I agree that some people are carrying out their secret psychotic fantasies. But IMHO most people are just having fun exploring and experiencing things they couldn't under normal circumstances. Kinda like riding a roller coaster or skydiving lets you experience the thrill of free-falling without the risk (and death that would accompany a true free-fall). Gives you an adrenaline rush, without the nasty consequences that would follow were the situation real.0 -

I was trying to say that running around and PKing everything in your way isn't _roleplaying_, that's all. Even evil people don't kill without motivation, you do it not because your character wants to kill randoms (why would it?), but because you as a _player_ consider it fun. Which is perfectly ok, btw. Not sure where you got the idea that I think PKing on a PK server was an evil thing to do. I was referring only to the name calling/insulting that some people, for a reason I will never understand, think to be a natural part of competitive gameplay. It's not. Or in short: Both nice people and jerks play PvP. But only jerks toss around insults while doing it. And since you aren't roleplaying when doing that, as pointed out earlier, it's not the character who is a jerk in this case, it's YOU.Lessie - Lost City wrote: »That pretty much supports my point, you can do it online without it having to do anything with your RL personality/attitude/the way you are.
That was not what I was saying. I just saying that in comparison to real life sports, people in PvP often lack even the most basic traces of good sportsmanship - in order to defeat your earlier statement that basically said you can't be nice while being competitive. Yes, you can. People do it in RL sports.
I still don't think people who trash talk online are nice persons in real life, btw. I think every single one of them is as much a jerk in RL as in the game, as in without any exception. I wrote a longer post about this and why I think it to be true earlier in this thread, look it up if you like, I don't want to go in endless circles here.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Aye, I know what you mean. If only *******s PvPd, the game would be no fun. Everyone PvPs (or at least, the vast majority), but you can generally tell more by *how* they do it. And I don't mean ''*******s get in big groups, nice people suicide valiantly''. I mean prety much what Kimy said: the 'nicer' people can be better sports about it.
