Here's a serious question, and if it's a stupid one, sorry D: But, in a random squad, how does hitting and picking the axes work? Is it like a mad rush where everyone goes for them? Do just a few go for them? Is it typically just one person (the same person)? Does it ever happen that no one thinks to do it?

If you're near the axe, you hit/pick up. This does cause problems for certain classes, namely stormbringers, wizards and psychics. But it works fairly well for the most part.

Honestly, I don't see much difference between random and free for FSP. Pages are next to worthless compared to the value of the flowsilver coin. And books are so rare that it's not even funny.
    My mains:

    TorquoiseBlu 103 | 103 | 103 Twilight Sky VIII psychic
    MidnighteBlu 103 | 103 | 103 Twilight Sky VIII duskblade

Ah, thanks. Squads in free tend to all group together - at least the casters/ranged stand near each other and the melee stay near each other - so it would be difficult to determine who should (not literally) call dibs. Random squads must spread out better, otherwise we'd have a bunch of dd's quitting their jobs for a few seconds just to pick the silly things lol

Remember, people fail, not squad settings.

    Exactly that.

I made my assertion for labor efficiency, in no way did I claim it was not risky. Free drops would be more risky than random with a squad full of thieves but that leads to a whole other topic of things.

I am practically done posting here, there is no point of continuing when we could just wait and see what happens on the server right?

    Summary:
→Just do random with the same people that are good and it and it will be easy
→Just do free with the same people that are good and it will be easy

I said previously that the time it takes to run isn't really affected by whether its on free or random but the strength of the players. So yes, you could easily do FSP on random or in free in fast time. For now let's just wait and see, there is no right or wrong, just what each person prefers.
