Official: M30 Mount AoE Target Standardization (and More!)

Hey there Adventurers!

Sorry I waited 'til after the weekend to post this, but the new module is now on the NeverwinterPreview (Mimic and Lurker) shards, and with it comes my first standardization pass on powers! I'd like to see what y'all think about it, and if you find any bugs in the process.

Fictional examples I borrowed from Nitocris83's M27 thread:
Feedback: Mimics breakdancing is visually distracting from the other fight mechanics.
Bug: Mimics breakdancing when the fight starts makes them get stuck in floor.

What actually changed?
For all of these, you can safely assume that the tooltip has been made consistent with current standard tooltip structure, including green text for values that change based on a player's Mount Bolster value, and using Total Magnitude instead of per-hit or per-tick magnitude for multi-hit powers. (If the tooltips look wrong, that's probably a bug!)

"Crit Avoid fix" is a fix to an issue where, if the power was set up in a certain way, it would incorrectly inherit the casting player's Critical Avoidance value and use it to reduce critical damage dealt by the power. Anything with a Crit Avoid Fix will basically be buffed.

All values listed below assume 100% Mount Bolster.



In the build NW.335.20241024a.0, which is on Preview as of the time of this post:

Unfixed: When the power reaches the target cap, the whirlwind will become stuck in place before it fades.
Unfixed: When the whirlwind fades on top of knockback-immune enemies, the combat log shows it giving "0 knockback."
Beholder Personal Tank Disintegration Beam 5 -> 15 1000 N/A None
Black Ice Warhorse Black Ice Storm 5 -> 15 1000 Yes None
Black Unicorn Dark Vortex 5 -> 15 600 -> 690 Yes Damage type is now Necrotic instead of untyped; now benefits from Magical Damage Boost.

Brown Siege Bear Cannon Siege Volley 5 -> 15 1150 Yes Now consistently deals 10 volleys (previously did 9 despite animation/fx), increasing effective magnitude.

Unfixed: Combat log shows "0 Repel" against repel-immune enemies.

Deadly Driderform Lolth's Gift 15* 851.4 -> 920 N/A Enemies and allies no longer compete for target cap; can hit 15 enemies AND 25 allies.
Now consistently deals 12 ticks of damage, up from 11.
Per-tick damage slightly reduced (77.4 -> 76.6 mag), but combined with above changes, power is buffed.
Buff/debuff tooltips now have text.
Hag's Cauldron (Lgd) Cauldron Gasses 15* 720 -> 690 Yes Now consistently deals 10 ticks, up from 9.
Enemies and allies no longer compete for target cap; can hit 15 enemies AND 25 allies.
Tooltip was incorrect about per-tick damage (reported 115, was 80).
Despite on-paper 4.17% nerf, the tick & CritAvoid changes probably buff this overall.
Hag's Cauldron (Myt) Cauldron Fumes 15* 540 -> 690 Yes Now consistently deals 10 ticks, up from 9.
Enemies and allies no longer compete for target cap; can hit 15 enemies AND 25 allies.
Tooltip was incorrect about per-tick damage (reported 115, was 60).
Infernal War Machine Mow Down 10 -> 15 333* -> 1000 N/A Hit detection radius dropped to 12', down from 30'
Fixed issue where hits would not consistently be detected.
(Previously, 333mag was applied immediately and 667mag depended on this detection.)

Note: These look like the Arcane Whirlwind notes because the power is constructed similarly.

    Here are some more changes I've made in dev today, but are not on Preview yet as of build NW.335.20241024a.0!

    Pegasus / Noble Pegasus Grand Inspiration / Noble Inspiration 15* 1000 N/A Target cap is now 15 enemies and 25 allies, instead of 15 total.
    Companions can now be affected by the buff (though it prioritizes players first). They get the DPS buff.
    Note: Allied NPCs are not affected by the buff.
    The buff tooltip now has text.
    (Mossy, Volcanic) Flail Snail (Mossy, Volcanic) Flail Snail 10 -> 15 1000 N/A Mossy Flail Snail's damage now reads as Mossy Flail Snail instead of Flail Snail in the combat log.
    Demon Wings Shadowy Rush 8 -> 15 1000 N/A This power's tooltip now explicitly includes its dodge functionality.
    War Triceratops Trample 8 -> 15 1000 Yes This power's tooltip now explicitly includes its knockback functionality.
    Umber Hulk Sand Coffin 5 -> 15 287.5* -> 345 N/A This power now consistently ticks 6 times, instead of usually dealing 5 ticks. (This caused its effective Magnitude to be 287.5 instead of its tooltip value of 345.)
    The movement speed debuff now consistently refreshes, instead of dropping off every other tick.
    The debuff no longer briefly shows 2 stacks with each tick.

    Skeletal / Hellfire Steed Rush of Despair / Torment 5 -> 15 800 -> 920 N/A These powers have a cylindrical hitbox; it's been changed to always be horizontal, instead of sometimes tilting down. This should make hitting enemies more consistent in level combat areas, but generally won't hit enemies significantly above or below the player.
    Debuff tooltip text has been added.
    Unfixed: These powers fire their FX relative to the player character's facing, but actual hitbox is relative to camera facing.
    Frost Giantess Frozen Stamp 5 -> 15 800 Yes Debuff icon no longer placeholder, now has text.
    Combat log entry is now Frozen Stamp instead of Fist Slam.
    Lovely | Emperor Beetle Lovely / Imperious Stomp 5 -> 15 800 Yes Stun debuffs now have tooltip text.
    Combat log entry for Lovely Stomp is now correct, instead of being named Imperious Stomp.
    Lovely Stomp no longer shows a Lovely Emperor Beetle spawning in for each enemy it hits.
    Imperial Rage Drake Path of Fire 5 -> 15 1000 N/A None
    New Year's Rabbit Rabbit Hole 5 -> 15 800 N/A Damage type is now Physical instead of Radiant. (Now uses Physical Damage Boost instead of Magical Damage Boost.)
    Tooltip now shows knockback behavior and distance.

    Runeclad Manticore Rain of Spines 5 -> 15 800 N/A Power now actually knocks enemies down instead of pushing them.
    Knockdown duration now a flat 3 seconds instead of scaling based on Mount Bolster.

    Shield now affects all allies, not just party members. Players prioritized first.

    Thanks for bearing with me! I hope most (or all) of these changes are welcome. While I'm certain there are some mount powers I've missed, this is hopefully a big stride toward standardizing the max targets for AoE mount powers.
