I never felt damage was the classes shortcoming, but then again using giant weapons, with the highest base damages you'd expect slower, but more brutal hits to come out. Right now the damage is at a level where it fits its role, but only just. Buffing the damage will make it more of a go-to for clearing out packs, but then…
I've levelled two GWFs to 60 through PvE , one as a Instigator one as a Sentinel without animation cancelling, and between the two got around 14 days on /played. I'm fully aware of how to do it, I just don't feel it was/is necessary. I've seen a few others doing it, but the majority don't since it requires some actual…
Quitting a class before you've even begun to understand it is laughable. GWF is far from as underpowered and weak as people think, though, most want everything handed to them on silver platter so I guess it's logical.
I'd love to do 6 digit damage every 9 seconds with my IBS but tripling its damage would be ridiculous >.> There's a big difference between bringing a class back in line with the rest, and turning it into the next op and consequently having it re-nerfed into oblivion. Damage was never the GWFs shortfall
Guardian Fighter clearly dead because an exploit that was allowing them to flood the market with any dungeon loot by practically 1-shotting mobs is fixed..
GWF: There definitely needs to be a target cap raise on the melee guys AOE's. Either a raised fixed cap, or some kind of damage falloff (like 5%/target hit?) per target beyond the first 5. For a class who swings a gigantic sword it seems a little crazy it can only hit 5 mobs even if there are 10 packed right infront of…
Looks to be roughly a 20% boost on sure strike/wicked strike, and again around a 20% cooldown reduction on most skills.. Not So Fast got what appears to be a 50% damage boost. Didn't have much time to check it out so it's just based off a quick 5 min look-over at everything. Sentinel GWFs look like theyve got some big…
I'd have been happy if the only change was that Wicked Strike could hit 8 targets not 5, so i'm overall quite happy with what's been posted.. I do feel like they're a little underwhelming in terms of it just being damage tweaks for the most part, since I didn't feel like damage was where the class lacked.
Most of the CWs AoE powers don't seem to have target caps, or theyre high enough to not be too noticable amongst seas of numbers. GWF has a pretty wide swing radius especially with Wicked Strike, so we wouldn't need a singularity for em unless we was talking things like Ash Disciples, in which case i'm sure we'd both just…
What's your current gear like? GWF scales pretty nicely with gear and definitely has the potential to outdamage a CW (though admittedly it's harder if the CW knows what they're doing) @ExtinctioN http://puu.sh/39wLt.jpg First time I've ever seen 2 GWFs in a t2 and look what happens
I can't think of anything more enjoyable than making something widely considered 'garbage' work, both in PvE and PvP content. The class truly feels like it scales more from the players experience and tact than from items and skills... You need thick skin to play one, especially in group settings. Hopefully these class…
For the longest time I swore by tenebrous, I liked to be the first in and melt down the trash, which tenebrous greatly helps (since it's bursty). 7 seconds inbetween procs generally means youll get 1 rotation of them off per pack though, which has me rethinking using them.
What's below is just my way of playing a spec like this, told ya mine was a bit different, but fundamentally the same =p I've been reading up on Trickshaws posts a bit and even with the crazy amount of defence shred this spec can put out, I still think the ArP thing is on to something. I changed a couple things around…
I agree with some points, disagree with others. Every other GWF i've seen on mindflayer has been millions behind me, even ones with better gear, and I believe a lot of it comes down to build and skill selection. I cringe when I see a GWF in full AoW in a Cragmire using avalanche of steel and whirlwind, or fighting packs…
Been hitting dummies with IBS to test a few things, with 5 tenebrous enchants on my gear im averaging 6 procs per IBS on 1 dummy, i know plague fire can proc tenebrous but i'm wondering if deep gash can too.. http://puu.sh/31NDS.jpg Judging by that, it seemingly can, which would only make tenebrous more superior with…
If you're running plague fire with this spec you're looking at anything from 60 up to 90% defence reduction when stacked up. ArP is a great stat if youre getting it as an added bonus on gear because it's very efficient in terms of effect per point in lower values, but given the amount of debuffs being thrown around in…
Going to give a bit more insight to my style of playing this spec (or close to anyway) now i've been jamming 60 content a bit. I use plague fire over anything else, because plague can proc tenebrous (which i use too) Tenebrous in my offense slots on gear (5 slots, wep/offhand/neck/rings) Belt i don't use an epic (i use a…
GWF isn't a pure DPS class, it's an off-tank. It should never outdps a TR (it does if used properly but that's AOE vs ST), It's a bit bulkier than a TR and CW, not as bulky as a GF, AoE wise its slightly ahead of CW, single target it's behind TR. The class is sort of where it should be in terms of what it does/doesnt do…
