I appreciate all the feedback. I agree that the defensive benefits alone make it worth while. I can also agree that triggering procs by increased attack rate is likely helpful also. The crit stacking, bleed and damage stacking feats and passives definitely benefit from the increased attack rate. The net affect is likely…
My math was fine, my post was poorly worded. :P I said that attacks take about 66% of the original time (34% reduction in time) and that damage was reduced by about the same amount (about 34%). I only took one sample and was looking for more input. But mine did show a 34% decrease in damage with wicked strike.
There is nothing comprehensive at this point. You can find the "base" damage by removing all your gear including weapons. the damage value on the skill will still include your attribute bonus, the skill level bonus (I,II,III), and any bonuses from feats. You can find the contribution of the weapon by adding the weapon back…
I did attempt to fit the curve for your level constant if for no other reason than completion sake. I only had 4 data points to work from but I did manage to come up with a curve that works for those or points. I had to estimate the lower level constants but the curve is pretty close at the moment. anyway here is the…
The problem with understanding power is that its impact cannot be determined by simply looking at a curve as with Crits, Armor Pen, and recovery. The effect of power depends on both the individual skill which is being performed and by the amount of damage that the weapon(s) being used causes. Since the power stat doesn't…
That's a great question. There are few possible obvious cases: 1) The GWF has a flawed design. It cannot statistically be as effective as other classes. 2) The GWF requires more effort or ability to be as effective as other classes. Ranged classes are easier to play ... always. With equal effort and ability once should be…
I have a defense focus in gear because of the feat that translates 20% of that into power. I am running a half-orc so I wasn't putting that much focus into my crit chance ... did buff the crit impact though. the crit bleed buff was based on power so I wanted to keep that focused. I thought sacrificing a few % of crit…
Off tanking makes it a defender class, unless my reasoning is flawed. It has a sustained DPS with a mild AoE format which I would argue is the main mode of its off-tanking ( not taunting targets ). You pull them by hitting them. you just have to hit a lot of them as fast as possible. The Main tank will not get flanked by…
I honestly dont think its the GWF's role to pull aggro off of those DPS heavy classes. I'm not trying to pull aggro of the CW ... I am using their mob clustering to my advantage. The CW teleport is effective enough for them to get clear and push and shield will always give them space. As far as the TR goes ... they are…
I agree. Defense should be in your gear and should be the least of your concern in powers and feats. In group play the cleric will compensate for the lack of defense (as well as the temp HP) my gear is angled towards power, defense and recovery with a little armor penetration and deflection thrown in for good measure. my…
Insults aside ... I'm concerned that people who haven't figured the class out yet are asking for buffs. The fun thing about this class is that it requires a great deal of timing, battlefield management and good old fashion console style reflexes. If that isn't your style of play then there are other classes. I've played…
The cleric aggro reduction has made the GWF more effective. Hitting first is the GWF's forte. I use bravery and I also use feats to slow the consumption of stamina. That allows me to run around quickly and wack things. In cases where I am rescuing the cleric, a quick roar and a not so fast and they come after me. I'm still…
This what I'm thinking. I just started playing a GWF recently and it actually feels overpowered. I always get the most kills in a instance and I'm typically 1st or 2nd on damage (unless I am way underleveled compared to the rest of the party). I worry if people ask for more buffs and get them, they will turn the class into…
I certainly haven't analyzed all the skills in that level of detail but the class seems effective as a mob killer. I'm pretty much #1 in kills in instances. I don't play pvp so I cant speak to its effectiveness there. I think some of the problems with buffing things too much is you end up with an OP'ed class once the…
I understand that and that is what I currently do. But it would be nice to be able to trigger based off of some other object interaction from a previous map. For instance, talking to an NPC on the first map can be used as a trigger on the second map.
The only problem with using multiple maps is there is no continuity between maps regarding object interaction and potential triggers other than the main quest line. I think multiple maps would be more appealing if I could remember object interaction from previous maps. Using quest items to track actions is still a bit…
I think I may have found a solution based on this timer method, Timer Trick The only difference I make the appearance of the invisible wall dependent on the whether the player possesses a particular quest object and I make the timer effectively zero time. Still playing with it to make sure it will work. EDIT: That didn't…
The problem that I am having is that I have quest objects found on one map that I want to trigger behavior on another map. I think the component complete must be on the same map ... Same thing with dialog triggers ... must be on same map.
Not sure if this has been mentioned but I would like to see encounters that can be triggered by quest objects. I would also like to see encounters that can be triggered by dialogs which occur in other maps in the quest. Right now its seems that I can only trigger from dialog on the same map which breaks some of my…
Maybe ... but I was logged into the game just prior to attempting to log into the foundry. It may have just been a lag issue. If failed trying to start up the editor.
