This keeps happening to me and it's driving me crazy. I get kicked from a match, and I get the leaver penalty? Seriously?? And no this isn't sitting at a campfire, this is right in the middle of running around busting my *** to get kills and capture nodes. Really frustrating to know some jerk can just boot you and slap you…
Yeah, but here lies the inherent problem with Gauntlegrym. As far as I'm concerned, the GG set is not a true PVP set. Why? Because you can get it by doing zero PVP. Honestly, am I the only one that's confused by PVE content offering "PVP gear" as a reward? For Gauntlegrym to make logical sense, grym coin rewards would have…
Awesome. Everything you said is what I want to see as well. I just hope they can come through with enough options to satisfy all of us. Looking forward to seeing it happen. :)
Well, it could be because... By golly, you're right! ;) And the first thing I would do to add more ways to let us improve and personalize our builds, is to let us choose which set bonus we want to use in PVP. I know I'm weird like this, but I personally don't subscribe to the "one size fits all" strategy of character…
Yeah I read this post. It sounded good until I got to this part.... So that's it then? Just ONE set bonus for PVP? Stat allocations were the least of my worries! I could always customize stuff using gear mods. It was the various set bonuses I was after for my characters, depending on what build I was using. Seriously, if…
Yeah, these new changes don't sound good at all. Whatever supposed benefit this Tenacity stat brings with it won't make up for all the negatives it presents. If this goes live, it will mean that only PVP gear will actually be viable in PVP. Which means build variety will be reduced drastically, since there is only one PVP…
Yeah that would be unfair to those who earned it legitimately. I bought my friend a set when he turned 60, and now he is going to buy me a set for my alt who is soon to be 60. And that's ultimately the problem with some of of the counter-measures for these situations. A lot of the times you end up punishing people are…
With the current state of PVP, no way. I leave matches all the time because of the absurdity that exists now. Whether it's bots, or bugged players, or people DCing making it a 2v5 game or something like that...I just leave. I want to PVP, not sit and gain glory for doing nothing because the other team is afk or whatever.…
FYI, the score listing on the scoreboard is not gear score, it's just the score that player has accumulated so far in that match. Also, two clerics on the opposing team is not the end of the world. A lot of time they will both hang out someplace like the middle and just stack circles. That means you just have someone there…
Agreed. I think most people with mmo experience know that pvp only stats and gear are a bad idea. I've personally seen too many good games ruined by that stuff. I also like using one set of gear for both, needing two sets would be terrible. I honestly don't know if there is a simple solution to this problem. Perhaps a…
Yep, TTK is absurd. I've said it before, pvp is currently all about who one shots who first. All classes can do it, except maybe the cleric, but any decent cleric will be impossible to kill 1v1 anyways. Serious pvp changes are needed, I think everyone can agree on that. This isn't a shooter, it's a mmorpg. The TTK needs to…
I agree with the OP. The issue is not just with rogues, it's with all the classes in pvp in general. It's very "bursty" as he put it, and the damage that people are putting out is just absurd. Even I, as a GWF, can 2 or 3 shot people if I get all my encounters off successfully and get crits on all of them, which isn't hard…
I took both. :D But yeah I am doing a similar build right now, Instigator based build, heavy crits with Deep Gash and Student of the Sword. I am level 54 right now and I do pretty good damage. I'll have to see how it pans out at 60.
A rogues attacks are not so easy to dodge anymore. I don't know if they changed something, but I am super fast when it comes to those attacks, and most of the time I still get hit now. I've been PVPing on my GWF since the first moment I got into the tests, and for the first few test weekends it was fine. I heard the noise,…
Yep, this is a big problem now. It's getting difficult to find pertinent information. And making new posts is hard because they just get instantly buried so no one sees them. This MUST be fixed soon. NO! Clerics get nothing! Nothing I say! ;)
Reaping Strike is probably the best secondary at-will to use if you are running a heavy determination based build, since it builds more determination while you are charging it. However, for all other situations the other at-wills are probably better to use.
Concerning the stats of the pvp armor, I just hope the best pvp gear can be acquired by actually doing pvp. I wouldn't want this to turn into a situation where I'm forced to do PVE or crafting just to be competitive in PVP. @turkan84 - Yes you get XP from pvp. I am always way over level for missions because I do…
I hear ya, I play melee and I still agree. The scoring system does need work. It seems like it's just a basic system they put together as a place holder. I'm sure once they have time to improve it they will make it so people get rewards for doing what they are supposed to be doing.
Heh, very nice. I've actually been using this build for a while too. It works nice for PVE, but I'm having trouble with it in PVP. The damage mitigation just doesn't seem to be enough to handle the massive damage being thrown at me from the other classes. The criticals help, but again, they just don't seem to be enough.…
Yup, I've done the same thing. I've tried respeccing. I've tried going to the AH and upgrading all my gear to best I could find. I've been playing the GWF since the first tests and I thought I had a good handle on how to play him. But it just doesn't seem to make a difference. Meanwhile on my cleric, I haven't done any of…
Yes, purchasing a Retraining Token from the Zen store will allow you to reallocate your Attributes (stats). At least I'm pretty sure that's how it was the last time I looked. I would double check but I can't log in to the game. :p
I've already thought about some of this stuff, and there's definitely a lot to consider. It would obviously have to work a differently than PVE dungeons, but I think it could be done. To start with you would have to have some restrictions and limitations on how they are constructed. Perhaps a template system could be used,…
Excellent idea! I really hope they they implement this. I can see it really taking the pressure off the devs to make more PVP maps, and I can only imagine the cool stuff players could come up with. Cryptic get on this!
It's certainly possible at low levels, as I've done it. It's nice too, as you can just go into low level dungeons with whoever and make up any deficiencies with companions. I hope this is the same for higher level dungeons as well. I would hate to have a situation where there are required roles for dungeons.
Hi, I saw your post and I am thinking of running a Sentinel build as well. I have a vague outline for it now, but it's still a work in progress. I'm figuring for stats it'll be lots of power, crit and defense. I'm still working out how to spend my feats (i'll be a human), but I think I know what to do. Hopefully I won't…
