  • I agree with your points. I don't think the system is unsalvageable. I think by tweaking the order of powers and the availability a bit, it would work really well. An example of a modified Wizard tree: Base: Magic Missile, Ray of Frost, Chill Strike, Oppressive Force, Orb of Imposition 5 pt: Conduit of Ice, Entangling…
  • The Cleric Power tree looks pretty good, thanks for posting that jirodyne. Looks like they didn't mess with the order too much, although they've made the spread wider. How does the self-healing feel?
  • The advantage of Shadow Strike wasn't that you could extend stealth, but that it allowed you to use two stealth buffed encounter powers in a row. Stealth -> Dazing Strike -> Shadow Strike -> Stealth -> Lashing Blade. If you use Shadow Strike to extend stealth, you're losing an opportunity to get another encounter buffed…
  • Yeah, that hurts. Especially with the Gloaming Strike nerf as well. I think they didn't intend for us to stay in stealth for entire fights, but it sure was fun. Perhaps it's just something they're shifting to higher level so that it's a paragon choice rather than something all rogues do.
  • Awesome list, kelomena. Thank you I've been reading conflicting reports about the rank 3 thing. The blog said it was available at 30, some of the ability tooltips say rank 3 is unlocked at 30, but the power unlock icon shows up in the level 20 tier. When you can start putting points in to rank 3?
  • Yeah, I'd like to get a list of what powers appear at each tier.
  • I took the Man At Arms for my first companion so that when I wasn't in stealth I could get CA easily. I'll probably stick with that choice. I've heard you get a Cleric companion as a quest reward later, so it seems a waste to take a second healer.
  • Ah, good catch. I updated the table in my other post. That does make it better. You'll be four points shy of maxing everything before hitting 20 points, so that's two skills to skip completely or four skills left at rank 1.
  • Actually, taking another look at the power tree: Wizards only have 3 encounter powers when they hit level 10. That means that their either their tab slot or one of the encounter slots is empty. Kinda makes the class feature lame until you get another power. Yeah, you get a mastery version of a spell, but having access to…
  • Moving around power progression is really common during beta, so I'm not at all bothered by that. Considering how fast you level up, it's not a big issue. I hadn't looked at the numbers, but as derressh points out, you have no choices until level 30. You have to max every skill there (to rank 2). You can slightly change…
  • Shield: Forms a constant shield that is diminished by incoming damage. Shield absorbs a large amount of damage if not diminished, and recovers if undamaged for 6 seconds. Can be recast to pulse the shield outwards, damaging and Pushing enemies away from you, but removing the shields protection. Push and cooldown improved…
  • The entire wizard power tree can be seen in the stream that went up today, look around 12:45. Link: http://www.twitch.tv/neverwintergame/b/389644513 If you're curious, here's the layout: Base: Magic Missile, Ray of Frost, Chill Strike, Oppressive Force, Orb of Imposition 5 pt: Conduit of Ice, Entangling Force 10 pt: Arcane…
  • Clerics wear Chainmail, Fighters wear Scale, Rogues wear Leather, Wizards wear Cloth I think there's one crafting profession for each. Chainmail = Mailsmithing Scale = Platesmithing Leather = Leatherworking Cloth = Tailoring
  • I imagine Lashing Blade got brought down a bit. I like how he said he "wouldn't call it a nerf," and then went on to imply that they've reduced rogue damage. I mean, I get you're trying to be diplomatic, but come on. Just say that while they're supposed to be doing a lot of damage, they were doing too much more than the…
  • You can't pick level 30 powers at level 1 in DnD either. I wouldn't get too worked up until you can see the full tree. I doubt the tiers extend all the way to level 60. More likely, they end around level 30, and you spend the remaining 30 levels fleshing out the skills you've selected (particularly now that you can go to…
