  • Thanks for the explanation. Guess I'll have to save up quite a lot of AD to turn my DC into a hybrid. By the way, if we gotta build a dps DC and thus aim for that 100% crit, why wouldn't we want an Erynes? Is it because by using Black Ice enchantments we'll never have enough crit to reach 100% and justify a crit severity…
  • Thank you for your Guide / Overview of the DC class. I'm currently playing a DO DC, at 12,1k itemlevel. Gotta respec him because I was going to make a mixed dps/support build that isn't quite enough anymore. In your guide you say that a DO DC DPS / Buff Hybrid is the most effective among the other DO builds. DPS/Buff…
  • So, when does the % dmg bonus from Wrathful Determination outweight the 15% or whatever crit from Weapon Master? Would it be worth it to stay, let' say, at 85% crit and slot Wratful Determination instead of Weapon Master (and changing the sword knot bonus of course)?
  • That was perfectly clear, thanks. I didn't even take into consideration that the Fire buff could not work on some abilities. Also i didn't really know that the +30% damage didn't affect weapon enchantment procs. And i didn't think about the fact that not all bosses are tank and spank and/or have different phases, so we…
  • Well, even it takes, let's say, three minutes and thus 3 artifact activations, wouldn't 30 seconds of that massive multiplier outweight the dmg increase from one minute and a half of Fire buff from Wheel of the Elements? Or does the +30% fire buff scale in the same exact way?
  • Which means it scales with all our multipliers. That's nuts. New best single target Artifact confirmed?
  • Today I came across a gwf with this little Soul Sight Crystal and she was dealing insane amounts of damage. I was about to write a post about it, but i guess i don't need to anymore. So, what are we looking at? Use: The target takes 50% additional damage from your attacks for 10 seconds. Now, what does this mean? Should we…
  • Speaking of Fey, I got a question. One of the selling points of Fey is the 18% damage buff. Now, dps obviously stack damage % multipliers (read: Archons, Siege Master) which are multiplicative with each other. The more multipliers we have the more they increase our damage. I suck at math so I might have not understood it…
  • Aww, that's too bad. TRs could really use some love right now. Enchantments (except Vorpal and Fey) mostly don't work on their abilities.
  • Allright, 12b is on us. I heard there would be some changes, like TRs' Smoke Bomb and Path of the Blade proccing Lightning or something. Is that a thing? Please tell me TRs are gonna be able to throw POISON LIGHTNING STORM CLOUDS. That would be glorious.
  • janne.coreside.com/mechanics/combat-advantage Here you go. All credit goes to the original authors. Short version: the Combat Advantage stat has heavy diminishing returns and has an hard cap of 11.36%. It doesn't have a simple 400:1% or 100:1% ratio, because of the diminishing returns. It's only worth stacking it up to…
  • As it turns out, the dungeon in which the tests were run was Tomb of the Nine Gods. On the other thread, dragonsbane3 said that the average total damage done for a dps in that dungeon is anywhere between 1.3 and 1.8 BILLIONS. That's a lot more than the total damage dealt in a EToS run, so that makes the difference between…
  • Well, that's a lot of overall damage. Now we can look at the impact these boons make. You said the average total damage is between 1.3 and 1.8 billions. Just for the sake of it, let's say an average of 1.5 billions. Our data is: Total average overall damage 1.5 billions. Total average damage from Lingering Curse is 970k.…
  • I'm sorry, that's not what i wanted to ask. I didn't want to ask about damage per second (btw, that's a LOT of dps you have there, gg on that). I wanted to ask how much overall damage does an average dps character do in ToNG. As in total damage done from the start of the dungeon to the end. Just to understand what do those…
  • Ok, thanks. I still don't have the gear to even think about attempting ToNG. How much damage do people do in an average ToNG run? I mean, what does an average dps's Paingiver counter say?
  • If we really want to minmax our damage, then Lingering Curse is probably the best choice. But i don't think the difference between Lingering Curse and Soul Siphon (with the self heal ultiliy) makes the choice clear cut. For example, let's take a Epic Temple of Spider run. If you're a dps (like a GWF), you're probably doing…
  • There's a bit of information missing here. Where did you do those 5 runs? I know it doesn't change the fact that Lingering Curse is (probably) more dps than Soul Siphon, just wanted to make some calculations and understand what kind of overall dmg increase we're looking at. I mean, a 212k difference between the two looks…
  • Ok, so apparently Lingering Curse nets more damage than Soul Siphon. Soul Siphon is basically AOE damage over 10 seconds plus 1% health per max 10 stack = 10% health when an enemy dies. Lingering Curse is more like cursed enemy dies, other enemy takes 30k damage and becomes cursed. That could lead to some nice chain…
  • Well, I might like it and everything, but for now (read: a few months) I won't be having nowhere near enough ADs to afford it, so I'll have a LOT of time to think about it. Maybe 12b will lower the weapon enchantments' prices so we'll see more affordable stuff. Meanwhile I'll be rocking my trusty lvl 8 Lifedinker.
  • So having Trascendent Flaming means that after like a second of two of combat we'll be dealing 17% damage with every attack/proc and that every second (at 3 stacks) the dot deals 33% weapon damage to the target. Plus the 3% debuff. And the lolAOE. Now i kind of understand that whole jamming thing and why Flaming needs that…
  • My comment got deleted somehow so here I am writing it again. After thinking way too much i wanted to understand this Flaming jam thing, 'cause that damage looks way too tasty to pass up. We have this Flaming enchanment which makes our attacks/spells apply a dot on the target, which deals damage every second for 3 seconds.…
  • After thinking way too much, i wanted to understand this Flaming jam thing, 'cause the damage increase looks way too attractive to let it go. So, we have this Flaming dot that stacks up to 3 times and deals damage every second, for 3 seconds. Every time we attack it applies a stack. After 3 attacks/procs, and thus stacks,…
  • What was that 85% armor penetration thing? I thought the armor penetration cap for Chult was 70%, not 85%. Or is it just for Tomb of The Nine Gods? EDIT: after scrolling for a while i noticed there's like a bajillion posts about armorpen in Chult that make everything more clear. Those Crit+armorpen rings look a lot sexier…
  • Thanks for the explanation. That makes it all more clear. Having to do all this math really sucks, but we clearly need it if we want to shine in this game.
  • Thanks for the answer. I just noticed i was looking at the old Plaguefire tooltip, so that was a failure on my part. Still, that -9% damage resistance looks kind of interesting. While Plaguefire has less damage dealt on swing than Terror, it has 3% damage resistance reduction more than Terror. Flaming has "3% increased…
  • Thanks again for this marvellous piece of work. I just wanted to ask a question. Sorry if it has already been answered somewhere in that huge wall of text. What about Plaguefire? Judging by the tooltip it looks like a worse Flaming, but it has that juicy -45% Defense and -15% Power at 3 stacks on top of the (weaker than…
  • First off, thank you so much for all your hard work. This whole thing is nothing short of art. Second, about the data itself. I've been lurking on this thread for a while. All i can say is: My eyes are open. I've been playing with those graphics of yours for a while. It's just me or is Vorpal almost always a bad idea when…
