  • Current state of PvP: Classes Feedback Overview Playing support classes in PvP is very boring since mod 16. This did not used to be the case – ally-buffers, enemy-debuffers, crowd-control specialists, etc used to provide a variety of options for intriguing strategy and gameplay. If you cleave PvP from PvE, institute…
  • I like this idea in that it might spark curiosity in PvP. Ideally, pets would be disabled.
  • Intersection between PvP and PvE: PvP Accessibility costs Feedback Overview Accessing fun in PvP is highly costly in terms of PvE-linked time and resources. As a player who derived the near-entirety of the pleasure in playing NWO from PvP, I find the fixed time-cost investment one needs to sink into PvE, so as to enjoy…
  • I would rather wait until classes are balanced to a reasonable level. Right now there are flagrant imbalances, some classes fare much better than others. Tuning the DPS dailies up or down can be done at any point but right now I am guessing some classes need defensive capabilities more than others. Same goes for defensive…
  • Thanks for the confirmations...huge oversight :(
  • @schietindebux I haven't done any more testing as most pvpers right now think that, in the current state of things, pvp will be dead next mod. No one has any incentive to really play on preview for that reason. I did log on a few days ago just to see if anything had changed on the DC and I saw a couple of new things…
  • Yes, tank classes are ridiculous really as they have been for so many mods. Also, I really don't think they are looking into balancing pvp right now, I have stopped playing/testing on preview, as have most other pvpers on pc. In fact many have already quit/taken a break from the game or just waiting to decide what they…
  • I am excited about the potential and the apparent willingness to make changes to the game. I only hope that you guys will invest to transform PvP into a fun dimension of NWO, as it was once a long time ago. I think this will take a long time to implement though. Here are my first impressions of PvP with an Arbiter DC,…
  • @nitocris83 I confirm the above. It is game breaking. The purple version also gives 24k severity.
  • It seems totally pointless to even post anything in these pvp forums, but for what it's worth: + in support of removing piercing damage.
  • These items, supposedly fixed on May 17th, are not. These tests are from after the fix: Mane of the manticore: (x4 procs) https://imgur.com/a/sEy3EfS Chitters: (x3 procs) https://imgur.com/a/GPckIz8 @nitocris83
  • It is true that there is little initiative for these sort of things. I have managed to put some matches together with a lot of effort and they have been fun. Robb also occasionally has done it. What is surprisingly difficult is how much effort is needed to find people who want to actually participate in a match.
  • Funnily enough, you know very well that you are one of the players who does care about these things. How many times have we had discussions in game about all this broken stuff? Too many to count. It is a shame to see you leave, if you do, although something tells me that you will be back in the next mod, if not before ;)…
  • I am not sure who you are addressing your comments of disagreement to since they are irrelevant to what was said. Where did anyone say that DO is better than AC? Where did anyone in this thread say that it is not possible as a DC to heal well? My post above had nothing to do with who heals best, and was about how I play a…
  • Heh I think I know exactly who you are referring to! But no, I cannot agree with your logic. As for the who cares, this is not the first post about these HAMSTER items; I just wanted to put them all in one list and remind @nitocris83 who seems again silent on the issue. Many have complained about them in the past, and…
  • Yes, TRs using them and ensnaring you in their smokebombs is quite toxic and pitiful but they remove core class mechanics when used by any other class too. "Employing them as a defense"? Are you joking? I wonder how much PvP you have played these last few mods to claim such a thing. Sure there are some lower item level…
  • Sure, that's why I said that a healer can still be useful; the vast majority of DCs that still do some pvp are healers. As a healer your role is keeping others alive (if you can - read SoD and burst) and holding a node perhaps. As a righteous DC (I am one) you can be more independent: you can actually kill and also capture…
  • It seems that several players have copied the originator of the build. I am not sure of how it works exactly but might have to do with damage reflection. Before adding it to the list - does anyone know or can someone explain how these work on OPs?
  • I am not sure why you want to add the lion to the list of items above - you really think that the devs will touch legendary mounts in the same way they may do so with the items already in the list? No - a bit of realism please. There is no denying that all legendary mounts add an advantage due to their stats and their…
  • How can a class that is designed to be played in a team where players cooperate not be a sub-optimal choice, in the current PvP environment? You can still be useful both as a healer or a righteous DPS-er/buffer, but it all depends on who the randomness of the queuing system places in your team. What good is it to heal…
  • So stealth from shadowclad procs at most once every 30 seconds? This is tested?
  • I meant the stealth part - is its cooldown correct?
  • Nice ideas to change the current state of PvP. Some things that I liked about the suggestions: -It seems as if the ideas of teams won't prevent lower item-level players from participating since their wins/losses will determine who they will compete with in the next match, right? The "matching" of teams in the queue wasn't…
  • Thanks for sharing that! I wonder if the devs wrote an official post about this. Do you also know if it applies to crit severity of weapon enchants like dread that do not appear on the sheet?
  • Also, I believe critical severity's PVP effectiveness is at 60%, not 40%, unless further changes to the below have been made: https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter/#/discussion/1234304/official-feedback-thread-pvp-changes/p6
  • @almondum Totally agree, a DC should be tanky due to its heals or mitigation to be able to be useful to the team. What good is it to have a paper-DC that dies with a few hits? You would see no DCs in PvP at all. Healing can still be useful in pvp, however it has become incredibly costly in terms of build to be able to…
  • Nice work ! Thanks for sharing. I am curious: I've seen RI = .01*((((70*0.9)^0.9)+41)*(ArP/9977.011)^0.85) used in several places. Where did you get this from? Did the devs disclosed the exact formula? Or did someone fit a curve to {ArP, RI} data by minimising a loss function and that was the best fit equation?
  • @jhpnw Hey Ara! Yes, it is incredibly frustrating when players use those items in pvp. Can't say I've seen a trapper use them yet but I've seen several TRs do so (insane frustration when meeting those). As for damage, I met a couple who could do some damage actually, slow and constant, enabled by the constant…
  • Thanks for the updated spreadsheet! It's a nice piece of work and very useful to see the full damage calculation. A couple of comments: (1) I think there is a typo in the critical severity - you wrote 0.4 but it should rather be 1-0.4, right? Thanks to @darthtzarr for pointing out that this was changed for 12b. (2) The…
