But then the queue will be reset when I do restart it. The point of doing missions while waiting is to not be waiting for the queue while doing nothing at all, and the 'accept' timer is too short for us to simply go read a book or something while we wait.

I have done this a few times myself. Why? Queues currently take too long. As a CW I have been anywhere from fifteen minutes to beyond an hour waiting for something that I need done to start. I am disappointed not so much because I did expect something more than they did announce as I am because they did announce nothing more to begin with. It isn't bad per se. It is just half-assed.

I did play the originals in MAME a few times. They are pretty good games, and Neverwinter could indeed learn a thing or two from them.
