I have been experiencing this problem too. It appears to happen during most queued content, on random occasions. It would freeze up and the only way out is to end the task via control panel.
I would like to inform you of a bug with the armor reinforcement kits. If you have a protected kit on your gear, you cannot change that reinforcement to something else. There is no option to unprotect them to be able to change then.
