Again, this is another thing hit with the giant nerf hammer that they used as a selling point back in development to attract interest. If they allowed larger tips it would eat into their zen profits. Its a nice gesture from player to author, for sure, but a pretty lame implementation from Cryptic in my opinion.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the one ignoring the basics here, but you all are welcomed to your opinion. My opinion here is that your time would better be spent pushing for features that are going to happen. Have you seen this or any type of system done for STO? If, yes, then you might have hope and you should by all means keep…
You should add a Foundry Leveling Plan category that lists quests in a play list format for people leveling alts or wanting to not replay content. It would be interesting to see several lists surface that cater to particular flavor of player. Wizard lists, rogue lists, party lists, etc.
Has anyone confirmed that you can level 1-60 using this list? I would actually like to see several different versions of these lists if this is the case.
There is no contradiction. You are just not understanding the realities. The "timer" system is how they ARE managing rewards. It is a controllable system that they are happy with. It doesn't generate more exploits and is already implemented. Any of the suggestions made is this thread, while interesting ideas, are, as you…
You will never see non-combat rewards for the simple reason that PW/Cryptic cannot control the influx for EXP/Loot if that were an option. Combat at least, takes time. They have a timer system in place that manages exp and loot gain already. Earning too much too quickly turns the system on and you get diminishing returns.…
Might I suggest adding a filter to the searching functions that looks for "Author" created tags and one that looks for "Player" created tags. This then allows for the best of both worlds. The author can give players a start (and by side effect gets the quest seen in searches) and it allows players to tag missions.…
So let me get this straight... * Currently you have a "Crisis" in the Foundry community where authors are creating missions that exploit the system using methods that have been around since before the official launch. * These missions are very popular by the playerbase and are getting such high votes that they are getting…
Wait...isn't this the point? Perhaps at post 30 you are expected to be running with groups? I know that Cryptic said that you could solo, but I don't believe anything they say since all evidence says otherwise. In the best possible world, Cryptic should add a difficulty scaling system for every mission instance just like…
You can have all of mine, plus the code that generates these abominations. I've started just leaving them on the ground as they count as "non-loot" in my mind.
Did Cryptic ever add any new catagories or ways to filter UGC to MA or STO? If not then asking for it seems a bit pointless. They might add stuff, but judging by no response and past history, I'd say the likelihood is less than optimal.
In game design terms it is called "inventory pressure". It is a way of keeping you changing what you are doing by going to the vendor and selling it or wanting to buy more bags, etc. Most games have this feature. What NWO vendors need is a "sell junk" button like GW2 has.
Yeah, the whole death thing is really annoying when trying to edit stuff in 3D. They need to change this to allow for god mode when you are editing in 3D. Currently it is buggy and crazy annoying.
Why can't chests and harvesting node just be something that is part of the budgets. Keep it low, but at least let us add them...it's just ridiculous how limited our building options are right now.
I found where to customize the guard, it is on the details on the encounter itself. So I have an NPC that the player talks to and at the end of the dialogue the NPC despawns and the friendly encounter spawns. The AI of the encounter is set to "follow" but the guard just stands there and does not follow me.
Yes there are two rope bridges available to Foundry authors but neither of them are the short bridge version that I mentioned above in my example. There are obviously missing assets that are not in the Foundry details section.
