What nemesis said, think of 'recommended' as a blind guess at what you would need. Its more a "if you have no clue at all which is generically better, put this on" If you know what your going for even a bit, go with what you see as better.

Nope, every MMO's I've played in beta over the last 10+ years did at least 1 wipe for huge breaking bugs...perhaps you seem to misunderstand the concept.
