I always play an elven fighter, I don't care about min/max stats. I make my choices for roleplay and gameplay reasons (I prefer tanks/defensive warriors).
The Drow race has become such an overplayed cliche I was actually detered from buying the $200 because it had it. I usually ban drow from my campaigns unless the player can prove he or she is really roleplaying the race and not simply a powergaming munhckin seeking an easymode race to ruin the game with. No Drow, No…
I agree, this game does not need pvp. A game is ruined when they attempt to balance pvp and pve class effectiveness. PvP and PVE are so disparate this is almost imossible to do.
Because it's a fact: Mac's are bad for gaming due to lack of support. You Mac users whine in every game asking for a client, wasting dev cycles because you bought an overpriced PC with a fruit symbol on it and you think you are special, in a way you are. You are the ones that made the wrong choice now you have to deal with…
Since many people leveled all three classes during the last beta weekend I bet you will see mostly GWF and Wizards when they are released for testing. The GWF will get plenty of 'love'. The reason so much is being posted regarding the Guardian is that it is the only fighter we have any real data on.
From what I saw, and I only got my Guardian to 23, we only got swords. I never saw another guardian with anything other than a sword. Rogues were in the same boat, with nothing but daggers until much later when a few people got a handaxe. I hope this is only due to the game's status as beta and more weapon choice is…
No they do not, unless its later, after 30. All of the GWF armor drops I got during the beta weekend were scale and all of the Guardian armor was plate.
The Guardian gets plate while the GWF gets scale, that sounds like less protection from armor. I would guess off-tank to dps depending on the spec and equipment.
And what pray tell have you contributed? You have succeeded in wasting time debating irrelevant details. You have sidetracked the discussion of the game from important points of fact to subjective, meaningless details that serve little to no purpose other than to vent your frustrations. In effect you have served your ego,…
I could care less if this game is D&D enough or not. The statement is so subjective to be almost nonsensical. I want to have fun. I want to go on adventures with my friends. It does not matter if someone with cheeto-stained fingers wants to argue over semantics.
You don't have to use them. I was about 23rd level, in the Swordcoast area, and my cleric had to go off for 33 minutes to train. I was shocked at how effective I was without my pocket healer. I plan to use my cleric, but I am happy I don't need her all the time.
It took them almost 20 hours to get to this and fix my account. All of the problems were on their end, I had done nothing wrong. They get a F on this one. I lost the entire first day of the beta weekend all due to their horrible Account Guard system. All this system did was prevent me from playing my game and protect them…
It is now 7 hours and 43 minutes of not being able to log in because of their terrible log in protection systems and their lack of customer support. Thank you for ruining my experience.
Ok, get this, now my inbox gets flooded with emails from my login attempts and now the launcher says 'too many login attempts please try again later', this would be funny if it wasn't so infuriating.
I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. I spent the last few days making sure all my ducks were in a row so I could enjoy as much of this limited beta as I could. I paid $60 to get into this short beta and now that money is being wasted by their incompetance. The system that is supposed to protect against theft is preventing…
To add insult to injury the Account Guard system worked back in November of last year when I updated my account so I could register for this beta test. It verfied the same machine at the same ip# via the same email. WoW! What a system you have here Cryptic.
I can ground up coffee beans, dump them into my french press, pour steaming hot water over them and then strain the resultant liquid into my coffee cup and call it steak. It will still be referred to as a cup of coffee by the other people in my community no matter how obstinate I remain in calling a cup of coffee a steak.
I think many who want to define an MMO in terms of raids are doing so as an oblique tactic to introduce their pro-raid agenda into the discussion. They want to marginalize the soloist and promote the raider as the prefered style of play. They do this because they are losing the debate, as is clear in the direction more an…
