  • So can we assume that the issue exists with new character models?
  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I'll go on a limb and say that the OP's tastes are in a minority. I find 2 & 4 passable, the rest are pretty bad and certainly worse than old models. Male halfing especially looks like some sort of a deformed creature between dwarf, hobbit, halfling and who-knows-what-else. YMMV
  • That's fair enough but you can't hide a bad move behind "work in progress". Even the concept art got bad reviews, naturally that models based on that will get equally bad reviews. The logic would dictate to fix it but apprently the rule of the thumb is to re-educate the playerbase instead.
  • What part of poor concept art and even worse model implementation is so hard for you to understand? You are the one who has huge issues with people not liking these models and no, we don't need re-educating. Glad it works for you, it doesn't for many of us.
  • Seeing how disgusting new halfings, elves and few assorted others look I am now fully in favor of allowing the race change.
  • It would be nice to hear a peep from the devs about this issue, if at all possible.
  • Presumably that's a joke? I said decent looking female drow/elf and this one has exactly the same chipmunk face covered in melted plastic as the halfling female from couple of pages back. Nice work with half profile and hair pulled back to avoid showing it is impossible to make a narrow-faced elf.
  • It is "you", not "u", and mesh changes still don't explain horrible design tacked on the same mesh. Yes, we get the causes, thank you, the result is still the same and unacceptable.
  • angrysprite, thanks for the info, it is interesting to read. I would say you are right or very close, and they also shoot themselves in the foot.
  • Right, no complaint is valid, we are all just lazy and frustrated. Why don't you start a thread "I love new character models" and let us see support? And I am still waiting to see semi decent Drow or Elf, especially females.
  • Yes, and your point is? I don't find them OK, or passable, many others also, something you seem to have a huge issue with. It's lipstick on a pig imho, glad it works for you, it doesn't work for me. No, I have no intention in spending hours tweaking horrid models to get something semi passable. Yes, I get it is your…
  • That is what really cracked me up, my long-faced Drow suddenly turned into this round-faced Iowa farm girl with an overbite and wiggling eyebrows.
  • Yeah, right, go on and make a female Drow that looks like an old model female Drow. Say like one on this promo picture in another thread: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?668641-Wow-I-can-win-a-house&highlight=house Funny how they used old model Drow for that. Go on, I am waiting.
  • WoW revamped models look great and probably with less poligons than these, also what does character look has to do with changes in the game mechanics?
  • In short "I made a crappy design nobody likes, now I will bend over backwards to prove how I am right and everybody else is wrong." It is still a crappy design.
  • Yes, well, I would say I like yoru art better than this and they are OK for a cartoonish comic book, not as MMO concept. Inače drago mi je da vidim susjeda iz Slovenije.
  • Gee, what a nice picture. Why didn't they make a promotional picture with one of those amazing new and upgraded character models? As far as I can say the drow is old ugly model, show the players the amazing new melted plastic look. Really, since the new models are so great why don't they use them for promotion?
  • Ugh, that's a deal breaker for me, besides I dare anyone to make an elf that looks like those in this concept art.
  • Thankfully you are the measure of all things so we are certain nobody save deviant types disagree.
  • Yes, that was what more hardcore fans were claiming all the way to the closing hours of say Warhammer Online. Or you know, they might be gone because really why waste time on f2p game with gated content, nickle and dime shop, messed up economy, bugs and horrid character models. No complaint is legitimate against your…
  • Really, so where are those silent masses of happy majority? In most games complainers are overrespresented on the forums but not to an extent that is here, positive feedback is absolutely miniscule. Or it might be the majority is not so happy and cheery.
  • Still it is unecessary gating, in comparison STO has none, to say nothing of better in-game economy and character customization. What amazes me is the difference between Cryptic games and developer teams. I am not always thrielld with STO but I support devs there, while here... Let's just say I wouldn't pay a dime to…
  • And months passed, the issue is still here, on top of that now I can have my Drow cleric look like a half melted Barbie doll with an overbite and wiggling eyebrows : /
  • Some are better than others but in my opinion it's a mediocre job overall, female elves look especially atrocious and it is even worse from the profile with the huge overbite. At any rate this is a dealbreaker for me, especially having in mind how certain other game is revamping char models and doing a much better job of…
  • They did the same in Star Trek Online but customization there is better with more options, models are not as bad and old fetaures are still an option. These honestly remind of faces of WWI soldiers burned by mustard gas...
  • Aaand here I am again, another month passed. So should I just retire my drow cleric and reroll another race? Yes, drow darkfire still affects friends, self, companions etc. even on heals.
  • Hello, the issue still exists, any ETA when this could possibly get fixed please?
  • Ah, excellent, thank you very much. I'll hold off on rolling a Drow cleric until this is fixed.
