CN Sword is better... for auctioning off for money. I will agree there. Otherwise, the minimal weapon damage, and irrelevant bad stats you 'gain' from equipping it don't balance out having a sword that actually increases your ability to do damage.
DPS meters are all well and good, and arguing that its really just a l2p issue with people not recognizing the contributions of others, but DPS aside, groups still will avoid taking guardians/gwfs because they don't bring enough utility to offset not bringing the other classes.
I'm focused on addressing PvE not PvP. It's too early to focus on PvP balance in my eyes. I'd rather devs focus on PvE balance and hit PvP afterwards. Also, there are no real premades out there at the highest competition levels like in other games, no real in-depth way to measure balance, and no PvP-specific gear or…
One thing I did consider was the possibility of GWF having more of an armor pen type ability bonus against higher AC mobs, and rogues suffering a penalty against heavily armored enemies, thus making GWF the big damage types for aoeing everyone, rogues getting more reduction against "non-soft" type opponents, while…
Class balance requires buffing and nerfing, every MMO does this. I'll just be honest and say that cleric needs a nerf and a buff. Blue circle needs nerfed and changed. Cleric needs a self-healing buff.
Thank you for your comments. How would you suggest threat mechanics be tweaked? Anything specific? Are you referring to Guardian threat generation, hard taunts, cleric threat generation?
I agree with the last part of what you wrote. If mobs did more CC, or hit harder, and if the mechanics I wrote about with healing were adjusted, players would be forced to play better and the instances could be more easily balanced for a group composition of roughly 1 from each class. I think if you ignore all meters…
I'm not sure the power level of the Guardian is out of whack, nor GWF (although GWF should probably do more damage overall), its more of a utility factor, and the fact that defensive utility is irrelevant when Clerics make it so that no one can effectively die, and the control factor from CWs is out of whack with their…
Any cryptic dev team have a response as to when and if players should expect Guardians/GWF to occupy an actual position in the game's hierarchy? Or, could you provide an answer as to whether you want feedback, and if so, in what format?
Well for me in particular, I've already done that. I have 2 60s, 3 30s'ish. However, rerolling won't fix the issue that this game has 2 classes that are inferior to 3 other classes and are irrelevant right now in the structure of group play. I want that issue fixed. I don't mind rerolling and leveling to 60. I, however,…
I have updated the original post with my suggestions on how to begin balancing each classes, and the overall game in general for group content. If anyone cares to contribute, I will note that in the original post. I would really appreciate constructive feedback.
For sheer coolness; a psionicist hireling, mini-beholder, ullarithid or illithid, Githyanki striker type hireling, Sentient Weapons with dialogue (BG2 esque) and which can damage and provide buffs to player
Some additional things I'd like to see: - Better Itemization for Guardians due to Guardians having to do massive DPS to be useful/hold agro (Stalwart Bulwark is probably best overall pve set, Castle Never Guardian Items are useless). - Fix the queue issues with PvP and PvE. Absurd that people have to log/relog roulette to…
What's the point of this thread? Bragging? I've pugged CN 4/4 recently as a Guardian. Congrats on your accomplishment. 1 Cleric, 2 CW, 1 Rogue, Guardian. DD/Pug. While chat-banned (stupid chat system, absurd).
I don't mind the role guardians serve, its the itemization I don't enjoy currently. I love having the ability to do mass dps/tank, buff my party, but I think my gear should reflect the role I actually serve, so that I become more effective the more content I clear.
Its DnD inspired, not a pen and paper port. Go play tabletop PnP DnD which is far superior, or find a group online through obsidian portal and download maptools.

These observations occurred post-zen purchase, and are the reason I've not spent money on zen since. Any other questions since you have nothing to say about my actual post other than trying to score some cheap point when I've pointed out tons of examples of the economy being irreparably ruined due to exploits?
Yes, I did sense this. I, like many others I'm certain, noted that the item price value of certain t1/t2 set pieces was disproportional to the time investment required (turns out certain players were repeat farming set pieces in certain instances from a boss, doing hundreds of runs per day, dropping the values of these…
This is irrelevant; at best a red herring. Do you imagine this is somehow a clever counterpoint? Yes, its a friggen game. A game with real life money being spent, premised on the expectation of receiving fair value. An expectation that was ruined by exploits, and value not restored due to a solution that is not a solution.…
One person, doing this exploit for an hour on any server could be enough to ruin the entire economy forever. Ask yourselves if that's even reparable, just one person doing this exploit for an hour. Seriously. Think through the consequences of that much AD being injected into the economy.
