  • Read my post above if you haven't already, but to add to that: You're over thinking it, you can mouse over each stat in the character screen to see it's affect. Aside from the stats I tested different things in different ways so you'd have to ask about something specific....there's a lot of work that I've done here,…
  • The German version is correct, you don't need to have Shield Talent for Shieldmaster to work. Recovery reduces the cooldown of Encounter powers, not Class Features. I've never tested Ferocious Reaction but I expect the cooldown wont be reduced. I haven't tested it and I don't want to guess. Sorry don't know that either. :)…
  • Dex also gives an additive bonus to damage reduction vs AoEs which is nice, because that seems to be a lot of special attacks.
  • 26 Int, 21 Cha, 15 Wis. (Edit: sorry wrong value for Cha, fixed now) The value of armor penetration of course depends on what your hitting. Like the chart says I assumed an event spread of damage on adds and bosses. If your focusing a boss you'll get more damage from more ArPen, but I tend to leave that to the Rogue. Maybe…
  • I love the Warhammer Dwarf Slayer look you have going there, you're wearing too much armor tough, you'll need to find some suitable social gear. ^_^
  • I'd love to test that Zxorn if you're buying the enchant for me. ;)
  • Enforced Threat does add to the Guard Meter but it's not a lot, roughly 20% over 8 seconds (8 ticks of 2.5%). I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to figure out how to measure that. I have not been able to test the Strength bonus to Guard Meter, but if it works that same was the damage bonus from Strength it will be…
  • Is Knights Valor working these days? No more getting stuck? Just tested Enforced Threat, adding that in now.
  • NO! My 50 foot tall halfling will CRUSH you!
  • Sorry if that's unclear, but I don't think the amount you can block is linked to health in any way other than the coincidence that it's about a quarter of your health before Con or any other bonus is applied. The reason I've mentioned health at all is that the quarter rule has held true at different levels. Once my GF is…
  • Yuan-ti, Batiri, Lizard Men, Basilisks.
  • Don't be sorry! Question everything it's the best way to learn. Update 2013-7-2: Added the Guardian Fighter Block mechanics to the second half of post #2.
  • Yeah those patch notes were the reason I checked for extra mitigation on attacks with a red indicator. The damage reduction bonus there is huge (+50%), way more than you'd ever need in PvE given the 80% cap but maybe useful in PvP vs. opponents with high Armor Penetration.
  • Are you referring to Shieldmaster? There's an official post about that HERE. To summarise, Shieldmaster works but doesn't show in the combat log, and it doesn't require Shield Talent to function. It's a passive boost unrelated to Shield Talent. Good to know! This explains some things I've been failing to block like a…
  • I'm not expert on GF gear, but it seems to me that 7.5k power is more stats that the whole Timeless set combined, and if you're Conq spec and get a 100% bonus on top of that power? Think I'll be using the Stalwart set when I get to 60.
  • Heh. After Lord Gallen posted that in your thread I went and tested it: took off most of my gear to reduce my damage reduction and found a high level enemy to hit me (I'm only 35 on my GF) so that every hit would be really big. Every hit took the same amount of my Guard Meter, regardless of the actual size of the attack,…
  • Thanks Demonsunder I'll add this stuff in, plus you've given me the idea to include the basics for block as well as the things I had to work out. How much of the Guard Meter does Enforced Threat give? I can test it tonight, but if someone already knows that would be handy. :)
  • 15.15%, if it even works. I've actually been meaning to retest this since they fixed the Armor Pentration boost from Dex/Con, but at the last test the bonus form Charisma did little to nothing.
  • Combat Advantage is a 15% damage bonus you get when flanking. If you look at your enemies as you're attacking them you'll notice a thin colored arc appear behind them (I think it's purple). That arc gives anyone standing in it Combat Advantage. So if there's players on both sides, they give each other an arc to stand in…
  • Frontline Surges base cooldown might not be 18, it might be 18.1 or 17.9 or some other amount. To pin down the actual base cooldown you might have to check the cooldown at a number of different recovery points and work backwards from those.
  • It's true, big investment for a small return. I want to add some info: 1) At 4000 Defense it's value drops below the value of Deflect, so you can't just put all those points into Defense and expect it to work out. 2) Damage Reduction caps at 80%, which is an issue when a Cleric is buffing your Damage Reduction (+11% from…
  • I'd love to test it if someone wants to give me the diamonds for two respecs. ;)
  • It is interesting though. ^_^ We're you looking at the mitigated damage, or unmitigated? I did a test yesterday that suggests that the amount blocked is the mitigated amount.
  • Hi torqued soul, tough isn't it? A have some old lower level data so I'll have a look, but I suspect that the constant at the start of each formula also scales slightly with level which makes it painfully complex. I'd love to have the complete formulas though.
  • I'd love to test what it does now but can't afford the respecs. The Wizard feat that improves the damage bonus from Int by 5% is actually giving me a 5.7% damage bonus, so god knows what kind of bonus you'll get from this.
  • Hokyin I'm pretty sure Steely Defense is 20% of your Defense score where Armor Specialization improves the effectiveness of Defense, not the amount. So not likely, but I haven't tested it.
  • Update 2013-6-26: Confirmed that spells and affects that improve defense stack additively to your damage reduction e.g. 30% Defense on a Cleric + 11% from feated Foresight + 30% from Hallowed Ground = 71% mitigation. Added a formula to show the additive nature of Critical Severity bonuses.
  • As blahblahsean said, I've got regen covered but Life Steal and Movement I've only got up to about 1500. I've found with most stats that amounts up to 3000 or 4000 help refine the formula. If you're collecting power and weapon coefficients, it's important that you also note down your damage improving stat e.g. Strength for…
  • http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?301761-Calculating-stats-and-their-effects So far this has worked for me: Encounter Ability Cooldown Time = InitialCooldownTime/(1+StatBonus+FeatBonus+0.36*Recovery^1.5/(102310+Recovery^1.5)) Don't assume your initial cooldown is a nice neat whole number, it may be 14.964 for…
  • How much Recharge Speed do you need for that? Does refreshing Linked Spirit cause the latest stack to overwrite the previous one? Or does it maintain the original stack? Or just keep the best stack? What's the mechanic there?
