I have the same problem and "unticking the quest does not remove it. Any other suggestions???

Blaming the graphics card as the culprit is a cop-out...This problem didn't happen until the latest update. It looks like the dev's forgot to test the update before sending it to everyone. Hopefully you'll figure it out soon. The fixes you show look good though. Lots of fixes there.

Looks like the best bet is to give up for today and maybe they'll get it fixed tomorrow....
